Noon tip in the Conte Forum in front of dozens of rabid BC fans? I feel like I've seen this one before

Game is on YES for anybody else in the northeast.

The NO Network for southeastern folk

I just sit on my couch and b*tch. - HokieChemE2016

It should be on MASN or Bally Sports South if you're in the southeast. Unless you have one of the streaming services that aren't carrying Bally Sports/RSNs. That's a carrier issue, though, not something the ACC really could have seen coming. Locking into the long-term deal does impact the league's ability to adapt to, however.

Another RSN game where most Hokie Fans can't watch. GO ACC!

Sketchy site SZN

MASN for me on comcast.

I seldom speak to loluva grads, but when I do, I tell them I want large fries.

Bally Sports south on DIRECTV Stream for me.

ACCN showing wrestling reruns instead of picking this game up. Lame especially since they knew our match was cancelled and was supposed to be on in this time slot.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

Anyone know where it might be streaming? Blacked out for this hulu customer

Now finish up them taters; I'm gonna go fondle my sweaters.

I still am not sure what service actually carries the games. Do I have to have DirectTV/ATT?
I gave up trying to get around the blackouts during football season. I tell myself it's just like when i was in middle school and listened on the radio.

"You're proud of your wahoo diploma - 4 years of going to class. If I had a Wahoo diploma, I'd use it to wipe off my ass!'

My dad is watching in Chesapeake, he has Verizon fios.

Now finish up them taters; I'm gonna go fondle my sweaters.

Really good energy from the team right now. Would like to see some more shots fall, but good energy.

Is coronavirus over yet?

So glad I pay for ESPN+ to not be able to watch Hokie basketball games. And since I promised my kids we could watch basketball and they got all excited, now we're watching WVU-TX Tech instead. Woo.

Deposit whiskey, receive wisdom.

First team to 40 is gonna win this.

ESPN/ACC Network Extra/ESPN+: Blacked out in our area. Are you kidding me? I can understand blacking the game out in our area when the game is in Blacksburg (to protect the interests of selling tickets at Cassell), but JFC. They expect us to drive/fly 700+ miles to see the game in shitty ass Conte Forum? No thanks. I'm glad I don't directly pay for any services that give money to the joke of a sports network they call ESPN. /rant

It's John Swofford and the shitty TV rights contract they made.

ESPN doesn't have the rights to air the content in our area because MASN has the sole rights.

Yeah - Auburn/Opelika Alabama here and blacked out.💩

"You're proud of your wahoo diploma - 4 years of going to class. If I had a Wahoo diploma, I'd use it to wipe off my ass!'

It's an RSN game.. if there is RSN coverage in your area on MASN, BallySports, etc it will be blacked out on ACCNX/WatchESPN.com

You can really see how explosive Maddox is and how much potential he has... If he can clean up his defense he's likely see a whole lot more time on the court.

Is coronavirus over yet?

You would think, but alas.

First time I have been relegated to listening to the radio without Laaser.

Replacement is doing fine, but I Miss that guy!

BC has a player named Kanye? I'm officially old as fuck. There are now college age kids named after Kanye West.

Maybe this one won't be a dropout

Alright. Now the officials are calling EVERYTHING.

TIL BC is a New Balance school.

turn it over... smh

I seldom speak to loluva grads, but when I do, I tell them I want large fries.

Silver lining: My blood pressure won't suffer since I can't see how bad the officiating is.

However, my eardrums are suffering because the commercials for the radio broadcast are about a hundred times louder than the actual broadcast.

Kept the lead with Mutts and Aluma on the bench for the last six minutes. That's a plus.

Fire Whit.

Yup. That was huge.

My wife takes the kids and leaves the house while I watch my Hokie games.........nuff said

Definitely.

Worried about all the post fouls though. Every F/C has 2 fouls.

I was able to get a stream on Bally sports app on my roku. You do need a cable provider to login with.

All RSN games for this year can be watched through their app apparently.

I didn't even know I had ballysports through my service provider 🤷‍♂️

God bless you sir! It worked for me as DirecTV as my provider, even though that did not work through the ESPN app. It's a family member's DTV login, btw...that's why I can't actually watch it on DTV.

Offense is clicking, but BC is 9 of 12 from the field to start the 2nd half. We're desperate for a stop.

This team needs to start playing angry. They're callin the fouls both ways anyway.

My wife takes the kids and leaves the house while I watch my Hokie games.........nuff said

Hokies need to suck it up. bc came to play!
need to force a turnover, get some stops.

I seldom speak to loluva grads, but when I do, I tell them I want large fries.

These refs are intimidated by the rowdy crowd of 800.

Watching Storm play point guard is like watching Cornelson call an offense. Such a stomachache to watch.

Fire Whit.

He constantly looks like he is running up hill.

why can't we box out and get a rebound?

I seldom speak to loluva grads, but when I do, I tell them I want large fries.

Horrible shot selection by Murphy to just jack a 3 off the dribble with 21 seconds left on the clock.

Guard play has been very underwhelming this year, but that's a given at this point. The offensive rebounds absolutely killed VT today.

Yes,that's the Hokie Bird riding a camel. Why'd you ask?

He needs to sit. Pedulla played very well at the point, came in with a couple clutch defensive rebounds as well on pure effort plays. He should be the starter

This team just flat out sucks. That's all I gotta say

Yep. There's no getting around it.

So... just to be clear... our last three attempts were by Alleyne, Aluma and Murphy... at some point CMY needs to answer why that is happening...

And Aluma from the three not under the basket.

It's ridiculous, they were covering Cattoor pretty well in the 2nd half (because it's clear he's the only consistent shooter). But we got 2 guys on the bench that can shoot the three pretty damn well, definitely better than at least 4 of the guys on the court

Two negative posts about Storm in a row from me but he got that kick out offensive rebound that didn't reset the shot clock and dribbled right into the corner. He did something similar twice against NCST for shot clock violations. I don't think that's on Aluma he had to shoot that 3 ball.

(add if applicable) /s

Oh I agree I just mean that's absolutely not what we want in of our last possessions. Definitely on Storm not Aluma

Yeah the last 3-4 possessions were bad, very bad.

Probably none of them matter if we don't get worked on the boards in that time frame too.

(add if applicable) /s

yes it's over, call it a day!

I seldom speak to loluva grads, but when I do, I tell them I want large fries.

got out rebounded by 15. out scored 10-4 on second chance points.
credit bc.

I seldom speak to loluva grads, but when I do, I tell them I want large fries.

Fucking awful. If nothing else don't shoot the damn three when you're down 3 with 40 seconds left. Low percentage and a turnover pretty much ends the game.

Shot selection by Alleyne hurt us badly down the stretch, he should sit for Pedulla to run point and Murphy/Maddox to split time at the 2 late in games

In a way I can't really fault the guys for lack of effort towards the end of the game. Lack of on-the-floor talent has meant way too many minutes for a small number of our players...the gas tank is only so large. Being gassed leads to turnovers, poor shot selection, mental mistakes, lack of ability to get the rebounds and piss-poor defense.

To add insult to injury, the team has just over 48 hours to head down to Chapel Hill to play against UNC. That could get ugly.

And the ACC leader at home 48 hours after that. Gotta play the young guys there's no way around it. Pedulla should get a lot of minutes, he's shown he's at least as good if an option as Storm. I also don't see how Alleyne is in any way a better option than Maddox right now.

Also interested in how it would go with a lineup of:

Aluma
N'Guessan
Mutts
Cattoor
Pedulla

Guarantee that Maddox transfers like Bamisile and Cone. 0 second half minutes even with our garbage backcourt.

Hard to have much faith in the team right now. The acc (and especially teams like Boston college) is AWFUL and we're near the bottom with a veteran team.

Poor recruiting and the few good ones transfer away. Half the minutes are Wofford players...

Yeah Maddox not being out there made 0 sense he was playing well. The lineup for the last minute was not what we needed.

(add if applicable) /s

Yep

Aluma is solid and a couple break out games from a poy candidate, him being from Wofford doesn't have to do with anything.

Storms issues are clearly mental, the three point line and ball didn't change from when he was at Wofford, but now he misses a ton of open threes.

I agree on Bamisile, that transfer is 100% on MY. (Cone though, was not good enough to start in the ACC). I wish we would've added another decent recruit instead of taking Lynn Kidd, who might never factor in to the rotation, but cant really fault the staff, a lot of people made a bad evaluation on him out of hs.

I don't think it's mental with Storm he's rattled when he's pressed on the ball. His competition is a lot more athletic now and closes faster he's rushing everything even when he has time he hasn't adjusted much at all. I certainly don't think he's a bad player but I don't think he's a p5 PG1 caliber

(add if applicable) /s

Why is it that our genius offensive coaching can only come up with bombs from Alleyne and Murphy in the clutch?

Gotta recruit and develop so much better regardless of the x and o

MY is 0-3 against BC btw

Sounds like he can't get the team fired up for a "should win" game

The curse of the other team having a player achieving a career high, the many bounces going the other teams way, ticky tack fouls, and our boyz missing uncontested shots.

The Alleyne/Murphy suck fest continues....at this point it's pretty clear what this team is. I just don't get why CMY doesn't sit those two and give more minutes to Pedulla and Maddox?! Basketball has reached peak Fuente as far as being unwatchable. Ugh

We have a great group of kids, a real good coach and system, but we are lacking talent and athleticism. Top 4 or 5 in our rotation are solid but playing at their ceiling. Need more Pedula, and Maddox. Even N'Guessan and Ojiako bring more size and athleticism upside. Sure would be nice to still have Joe Bamisile.

Sure would be really nice to have Tyrese Radford back. With him, I think we win alot of these games we have lost. He had pretty consistent production - 10-15 points, 5-10 rebounds per game - game in and game out. Plus, he was a leader for our team. Too bad his situation worked out the way it worked out. This team misses him.

"That man was violating a city ordinance, and I was just doing my duty to enforce it." - Mike Curtis

I would add competitive fire to talent and athleticism. So often this group just looks to be going through the motions instead of playing with fire and enthusiasm. Slowly bring the ball up the floor, like the opponents want us to, then 15 seconds of motion without really attacking the basket like the opponents want us to then 5-8 seconds to try to make a basket. I think this is why more and more I like watching Pedulla because he seems to try to force the action offensively. Aside from him, our warrior Aluma and Cattor the rest of our offense is like watching paint dry. (Used to have Mutts in with them, but after one basket last night he went into invisible man mode)
I'd like to see quicker offensive effort and someone, anyone, step up and play with fire. Biggest disappointment is Ojiako, expected something out of him all season and all I saw last night was a lot of flailing around. If I was MY I'd tell him to play with his feet on the ground defensively and every time a shot went up it's your job to box out and go get it, you are the biggest guy out there. And if you pick up more fouls doing that fine. And any offensive rebound you go straight back up for a basket. In other words, your new role model (playing wise only of course) is Dennis Rodman.
And Mutts and Aluma on the bench together for six minutes? Don't think this team is strong enough for that needed to put BC away in the first half not give them hope. I know its the proper classic coaching move but I want to first and foremost put the opponent away.

The LewDew, Professional Golf Bum

probably because Pedulla and Maddox have their own weaknesses and playing them a ton wouldn't result in more wins

as limited and incomplete as this team is, we've been competitive in almost every game this season

Well right now their biggest weakness is lack of experience, and that can only be fixed one way

Mutts got in foul trouble a couple of times which hurt, but even when he was out there, he was not bringing it today. Not active on offense much at all. Wasn't all the good on D or snatching rebounds either. He's been really off and on this season with his energy which was not the case last year. He looked nothing like the player that was all over the court just a few days ago against Notre Dame. And it sucks because while the guard play (Alleyne and Murphy) has consistently been lackluster (to be kind), some of these games are still winnable for us. But in order to win Mutts and Aluma have to bring their A game every night. Mutts hasn't been doing that of late for whatever reason. I thought DNG did an admirable job in the extra minutes he got because of that foul trouble, but its just not enough. We need the "Butts For Mutts" version every game if we want to win.

We were also back to our usual Alleyne/Murphy performances. Save me the talk about Alleyne being a good defensive player.I've even seen people say great and elite which...wow, some you have loose definitions. When the guard play is that bad, Pedulla and Maddox, especially Maddox, should be out there. At the very least, out there more than the "lets give the starters a quick rest" minutes they get. There's no way they can be any worse. If they are, they don't belong on P5 or even good G5 teams, and from what glimpses we've seen of them, they look like they can hang if given the chance. So give them that chance. I like Mike Young.Calls implying that he's fools gold like Fuente or that the shine is off/warning sign talk at this point is paranoid nonsense. But it is perfectly fair to criticize the use of his roster this season. It has not been good. There's issues with how we're playing and we haven't tried anything to fix it. We just roll out the same group, no matter the match ups, and hope its a good shooting night.

We are what we are at this point. We can't score more than 60-65 points and if we can hold the opponent under 60, we ain't gonna win.

The more concerning issue to me is the rotation (or lack thereof) with Alleyne and Murphy both struggling, we still aren't seeing much of Pedulla and almost none of Maddox...its really hard to understand. I am concerned that the younger players are going to continue to leave the program due to frustration with lack of PT. The Portal has made it too easy to move on.

CMY has some work to do to make this a consistently competitive ACC program.

Who is in charge of s&c for hoops? Cause the dudes aren't in condition for the amount of minutes they're logging

Now finish up them taters; I'm gonna go fondle my sweaters.

David Jackson, who was the S&C Coach during the Buzz years and those guys all played a ton of minutes too. At some point it comes down to the level of natural talent a player has.

For sure, but the guys have been gassed for the last 5 minutes or so of every ACC game, guess it comes on Young to, not using the bench efficiently?

Now finish up them taters; I'm gonna go fondle my sweaters.

At least I did not suffer through watching. It sounded like BC went back and watched old game film on how to beat VT by pressing Murphy with a long athlete?

Sometimes we live no particular way but our own

So my question is do we get better or worse next year once Aluma, Mutts, and Murphy leave but we add Rice, Collins, and Wessler? Just looking at that, it seems things will get worse before they get better. We are definitely losing a lot of production (34.7 PPG to be exact), but I think that leaves a ton of room for Pedulla and Maddox to step up, plus whatever Rice can give us in year one. It would be great if Cattoor or Alleyne could crank it up in their final year to be around 15-20 ppg, but I don't think that happens.

It's going to be weird too...who starts down low for us? Ojiako? He'd foul out by halftime. Wessler has good fundamentals and range as well as size, but I'm not sure he can start in year one. N'Guessan might be a viable starting PF, but how much will he contribute? Good grief there's going to be a lot of questions going into next season lol.

Can't say at this point. We're still in the hunt for a couple of recruits and I'm sure we'll be active in the transfer portal. And as we've seen for the last couple of years, teams can dramatically swing themselves hitting the Portal. Ask again in like May or June and we'll have a better idea where the roster stands

We should worse pending transfers. I would go as far as to say that we need two starting caliber transfers to be competitive (one at a bare minimum).

Losing a ton of production with Aluma and Mutts. So the only bigs for next year are N'Guessan (good defense, not much on offense, but potential), Ojiako (hardly any minutes in year 3), and Kidd/Haynes (can't sniff the court). It's really frustrating that we spent two scholarships on two big men that aren't playing at all (Kidd & Haynes) in the same cycle.

Losing Murphy will hurt too, even though he has struggled at times. Pedulla is the only true point guard that we will return.

Rice might be ready to contribute, but the others will probably ride the bench based on how MY has rotated the freshmen this year and last year. Hopefully they surprise me and earn minutes.

Let's assume that Cattoor and Alleyne keep their starting roles, because MY shows no signs of losing faith in either of them. Unless we get a transfer, Pedulla probably starts at PG. Maddox, Rice, and Collins are the backup guards. Then the two big men spots go to N'Guessan and a transfer, unless Ojiako/Kidd/Haynes/Wessler surprise big time.

So probably worse than this year, unless we get 2 really good transfers. IMO

(of course, we also have several candidates to leave via the portal like Maddox and any of the backup bigs).

With the portal, guys that do not play transfer. I expect some combination of Pedulla, Maddox, and/or N'Guessan to leave.

I could see Maddox and possibly N'Guessan transferring, but there's no way Pedulla leaves. He's getting 10 mpg as a true freshman, has played in every game, and currently has zero competition for starting PG next year lol.

Also, not-so-fun fact: if Maddox or N'Guessan leaves, then the remaining person is the last recruit still standing from the class of 2020. Oof.

Me thinks we'll be in the market for a transfer PF

Time to adjust expectations down, right? Also after yesterday, is we do not find a capable transfer for the frontcourt, we are in big trouble next year.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.
