The Hokies play at FSU today at 3 PM. The game is on ABC. FSU is favored by 2.5 points; O/U 129.5. Another line I don't understand. Florida State is 13-6, 6-3 in ACC; we are 10-10, 2-7 in ACC. FSU has four players over 7 feet tall.
They have beaten Miami twice, Duke once. On the other hand they have lost to Syracuse. We just lost to MIami at home.
Their starting line up is interesting. They start Mills, Polite, Evans, Butler and McLeod. Butler and McLeod are 7 footers; but they seem to only play 10-15 min/game. The other two 7 footers also play 6 and 13 min/game. So there will almost always be at least one 7 footer on the floor. It will be interesting to see how CMY schemes against the FSU line up. Will Ojiako and N'Guessan play more because we need the height. Or maybe they play more because we are playing a lot of basketball in a short time and the starters need rest.
FSU is another team that is capable of making a lot of threes if we leave them open. If we try to double the big men, I think FSU does get a lot of good looks from beyond the arc. We could be competitive if everyone contributes; but we have no room for careless TO's. And everyone has to be on his game. If Alleyn takes the night off, CMY has to play Maddox more. And I think we need to see more Pedulla to bring some energy to the offense.

This offense works great when the team shoots 60+% from 3-Pt. I suspect that's true though of pretty much any Offense. Also, don't think its very sustainable.
Seeing Pedulla get some significant PT and make big contributions is definitely encouraging.

Been begging for minutes for Pedulla and Maddox. Alleyne and Storm should be coming off the bench.

Did you see.Murphy get run over? Or N'Guessan get smacked on the wrist for a turnover? Or perhaps Mutts get hooked on the baseline? Or was it the out of bounds call replay clearly showed was not off Mutts. Thats four missed calls in the first 3 minutes of the half. Thats not whining.
And the guy standing right next to the ball on the out of bounds play has to get overruled by the guy at half court. Yeah - they are calling it fair

Didn't think we would win, but the continued reticence of CMY to give Pedulla and Maddox more PT is beyond frustrating at this point.

Somehow, we are holding our own on defenses despite a massive size difference inside. We are giving them problems with our ball movement. Winnable!

On the bench. The offense is completely different when we play a point guard (Pedulla) who can drive and create.
Probably wouldn't hurt if every team we played was missing their top 3 players. Regardless, we're a better team when Maddox, Pedulla, N'Guessan get significant minutes.
FSU's perimeter defense is hilarious. We can't consistently score on them inside and they still leave us so much space. This will be a much deserved win for VT. And hopefully a momentum builder. What a showing from the guards today
