Great shooting tonight, better ball movement to the post. GT being terrible shooting covered up a whole bunch of turnovers. Going to have to clean up the turnovers if they are going to try to storm back into contention.

FAM! That was fun to watch. GT is bad, and played bad for them. We played okay for us and still won fairly easily. The younger guys keep getting better, getting more minutes, and we keep winning.

There are a couple of factors I see from the last two games that are obvious when compared to all previous games, for example, the bench is getting more PT and contributing production wise. Thus, in turn, has Aluma's PT down in the mid-20 minute mark, unlike most the previous games, he's played in the mid-thirties. He's not getting gassed, his PT is 100% quality and fresh players are taking the additional 10 minutes (+/-) he used to get that wreaked of the law of diminishing returns.

Part of Aluma's reduction in PT in the FSU game was due to foul trouble. I am pretty sure he would have played closer to his usual minutes had he not gotten two fouls fairly early in the first half.
But what it has shown is that the bench is now capable of producing.

As of this moment, the Hokies are the #12 seed in the ACC Tournament and would play #13 Pitt in the first round.
A win would put them up against #5 Wake.
Two wins would match them up against #4 UNC.

Happy about the win of course but dang CMY is stubborn and went back to the Murphy/Alleyne combo down the stretch which is when GT made their run. Not sure if he is worried about the ego hit for those two if he makes Pedulla/Maddox the primary guard combo but the production of the two options really can't be compared.

Back to Back 80+ point performances.
Back to Back games with 2 players getting at least 19 points.
Of those instances, those 19+ points were scored by 4 different players (Cattoor, Aluma, Pedulla, Murphy)
BUTTS FOR MUTTS!
NO HANGOVER FROM LAST WEEK'S FAM! FAM!
Also, just throwing it out there....we're only 4 games back of the double bye and 4.5 games back of 1st.
Ummmm game on?
GAME ON.
FAM, folks!
Class ring was worn with purpose tonight, so far it's 2 for 2.
Polishing it off for Saturday.
Let there be FAM.
Don't change a thing! Leave it dirty!
I need to keep it clean. When Finks sent it back for resizing, they also polished it. So a clean ring = clean play.
**And double posts

GT is #2 in the ACC for steals. But partially cause they reach in all the time. Why they also lead in fouls called.
But Hunter had a pretty bad night. 1 of 7 from range and some pretty ugly passes. At least his defensive A game was there.
FAM. 2 down, 9 more to go... let's just run the table.
I think I can convince myself I can see some coherence,
That Mutts alley-oop off the inbounds! FAM!
Would love to see that (and send it to biological family) in GIFtory!
For some reason, that really looks like a designed play. If it is, we should keep it.
It is.
And a beautiful play it was.
FAM! Another great win!

He still can't or is resistant to make a move towards the basket with the ball. When they pass it in to him ~10 feet away he can't seem to move in.
And that's unfortunate because he has such a nice touch on the ball. He's got the size., strength and skills to do so.

Beating GT is always my favorite ACC victory, due to many GT alum/fans in my extended biological family.

Not knocking Pedulla at all, but Storm had a great game. Alleyne struggled in the first half, but improved a little in the second.
Considering he's a freshman, I feel better about Pedulla than Murphy but I think Murphy was the better PG yesterday.
Josh Pastner at halftime hoping Usher can keep playing without fouling out
