Women's Basketball:
Round 1:
#12 Wake Forest (3-11) vs #13 Clemson (3-12)
#10 Duke (6-8) vs #15 UVA (0-13)
#11 Syracuse (4-9) vs #14 Pittsburgh (2-11)
Round 2:
#8 Miami (6-7) vs #9 FSU (6-7)
#5 Notre Dame (10-4)
#7 Boston College (6-7)
#6 North Carolina (9-5)
Round 3:
#1 NC State (14-1)
#4 Georgia Tech (10-4)
#2 Louisvilla (13-1)
#3 Virginia Tech (11-3)
The Hokies can win the share of the regular season crown by winning out, Louisville dropping a road game at UNC or Notre Dame, and NC State dropping a game they shouldn't (Wake or @Syracuse). At the very least, the Hokies have a good shot at 2nd if they take care of business
Men's Basketball:
Round 1:
#12 Boston College (4-9) vs #13 Clemson (4-10)
#10 Louisville (5-9) vs #14 Georgia Tech (3-10)
#11 Pittsburgh (5-10) vs #15 NC State (3-12)
Round 2:
#8 Syracuse (7-7) vs #9 Florida State (6-8)
#5 Wake Forest (10-5)
#7 Virginia Tech (7-7)
#6 Virginia (10-5)
Round 3:
#1 Duke (11-3)
#4 North Carolina (10-4)
#2 Notre Dame (11-3)
#3 Miami (10-4)
With 6 games left, the Hokies are unlikely to make the double bye, but it's not impossible. They have losses against everybody ahead of them except Notre Dame, but play 3 of the teams ahead of them to even up the series (UVA, @Miami, North Carolina). Miami and UVA do have the better conference wins, having beaten #1 Duke.
Suppose the Hokies win out. That will put them at 13-7 in conference. Duke can help the Hokies out a bunch by also winning out, knocking back Wake (6th loss), UVA (6), and UNC (5). Notre Dame can help by beating Wake (7). Miami can beat UVA (7). The Hokies would then need Wake to lose 1 more, to Clemson, Louisville, or NC State and UNC to lose 1 more to Pitt, Louisville, State, or Syracuse.
Duke would end #1, Notre Dame #2, Miami #3, and VT #4.
Anybody willing to take the 13 game parlay?

The bottom of the conference is so bad this year, the top 7 basically have a double bye. Just hope the boys play their way into the NCAA tournament at this point.
I took a look at the NET rankings this morning to see how the remaining games play out:
We currently sit at NET 38 (Q 0-5 / 4-3 / 6-2 / 6-0)
UNC (37) - Q2
@GT (151) - Q3
@Miami (68) - Q1
Louisville (126) - Q3
@Clemson (88) - Q2
We really need Miami to stay Q1 and get that win as that is currently the biggest issue with our resume. After that we need to win both of the Q3 games. If we can do that and at least split the 2 Q2 games then I feel like that would be enough based on where we stand now.
Still trying to figure how beating FSU at FSU wasn't a Q1 win. At the time, they were good.
Quad wins move based on where teams are currently, they aren't locked in based on when you beat the team.
That said, I think FSU was just slightly outside the criteria for a Q1 win when we played them, think they had just lost the game prior maybe to bump them back?
We also need to do something that we will never do as long as I am alive. Beat Louisville in mens hoops.
I'm unclear if ritualistic sacrifices are against the TKP guidelines, but never the less than you for volunteering.
have you seen him on here in a couple of days? /s
R.I.P
DC are you still out there? Getting concerned here? :)
Live look at dcwilson40 at 11:01 last night
I knew UVA women's hoops was bad but didn't realize they were the 0-13 kind of bad. It must make things extra worse for them since Dawn Staley has been so successful.
They haven't won an ACC game in 3 years
There is a reason they forfeited rather than going to their last game. They would rather have stayed at LOLUVA and studied.
It makes me sick that our mens team has lost 6 games by 5 points or less, several of which were to VERY good teams.
One additional basket per half in the games we lost and we beat Xavier, Dayton, NC State, UVA, BC, and Miami.
That would have us at 22-4 (12-3) and 1st in the ACC by a half game over Duke and a whole game over Notre Dame.
Damb great stat
The Miami loss was total bullshit. A clear flop by wong, leading to 3 free throws, followed by a fucking half court luck heave. Fuck off.
I think the team is planning their revenge... Or at least I hope they are.
Don't fucking get near a 9th year senior like fucking wong with 2 seconds left and hit a shot in the last 6 minutes. That ought to do it. I fucking hate the larranaga golden parachute tour. hate it. dude is 76 years old.
He is competing with Boeheim for oldest coach ever... Can't give up yet.
AND the possession earlier in the 2nd half where the guy took like 4 steps in full view of the ref and didn't get called for traveling
Agree but we pissed that game away. We could have held for the last shot but instead jacked up a 3 point attempt with high degree of difficulty with way too much time left in the 2nd half. There was no reason to do that, especially when everyone on the court for VT had the experience to know NOT to do something stupid.
Pitt up by 10 on UNC at the moment... 2:30 left in the game.
Wow Pitt wins in Chapel Hill 👀
UNC is going to come out fired up on Saturday, now. We'll need to play the best game of the season to keep the win streak alive.
But it shows UNC can be beat. I expect our team to defend the Cassel.
Manek and Love were a combined 2-13 from beyond the arc. That helps. Plus Bacot was held to 7 points.
Pitt shot the lights out from 3 (59%) and had all five starters in double figures.
I already believed they could be beaten.
But, as usual, someone comes out one game before our game and proves it, to ensure they're fired up at the maximum level.
As a VT fan, this is pretty normal.
If the women's team had scored 1 more basket per quarter, they'd be tied for 2nd, and have the tiebreaker against NC State for 1st.
Welp; after the loss to Unc how we feeling? Any Chance we make the tourney now with UVA beating teams better than them (except us of course), their resume looks pretty good.
Do we have to win out and hope for a big win in ACCT AND hope for a little luck from the committee?
Just keep winning.
