The men host Louisville tonight at 9 PM. The Hokies are 10.5 point favorites. O/U is 132. The game is on ESPN2.
Louisville is 12-16 and 6-12 in conference. They are on a 2 game losing streak. Their wins came against the 5 teams below them in the ACC standings and Wake Forest in December. If the Hokies lose this one, you can say good bye to the Big Dance; we may get an NIT bid.
Louisville has been in disarray since their head coach left and really have nothing to play for. If VT does not look past this game, we should do well.
GO HOKIES!

Bold move for Biden to put the State of the Union up against VT bball in a primetime ratings battle.
Guessing VT may win that ratings battle.
Malik Williams for Louisville is out
Let's go!!!!
Hokies!
I have no complaints so far.
The last couple possessions I do
I love Mutts but he is so freaking sloppy with the ball 75% of the time.
But, for tonight, that JAM makes up for it. (in tourney play I don't think it will)
What is it about Pedulla that he gets the weakest foul calls against him
Freshman hazing?
Man we cant make a free throw tonight
0 for 4. I was going to say they are called FREE throws for a reason. Let's make some.
Holy Mutts. How did he get that.
Can someone gif that whole sequence? The Maddox 3 to the N'guessan monster jam?
Are we gonna double them up to break the curse?
"Are there two Justyn Mutts on the floor right now?"
Cue the Lasso cheer in my house!
He's here. He's there. He's every fucking where, J Mutts! J Mutts!...
Only starting watching since the second half started...my thoughts so far:
I think Louisville has. They are pretty much letting do whatever we want.
Deep into KenPom stats now - average playing time minutes w/ 2nd foul. Not a stat you here in the broadcast often.
What a great game. This was the statement blowout that we needed as a Next 4 Out team
This was an ESPN highlight dunk fest for about 10 minutes in the middle of the game. They look solid for sure.
Whoever it was that came up with Darius Automaddox in the last game thread needs to own it. That's the kid's new name!
I need new pants
FAM!
First time VT has beaten Louisville in the internet era, FAM!
First time anyone can send a text saying we beat Louisville.
Impressive losing streak broken tonight
Sheesh, don't wanna take the wind out of anyone's sails but Dayton, Florida, VCU, Boise State and Michigan all won tonight. We've got some work to do to make up ground. Beat Clemson
Yep, time for scoreboard watching. Oregon beating UCLA last week was bad, but them losing (barely) to USC was good. Dayton is bad as a head to head loss although maybe their big win takes out St Bonnie. The best thing VT can do is keep winning and get to the ACC championship game.
Michigan beat Michigan State, who is also right ahead of us in the net ratings so some one had to win there.
Yeah I'd rather Michigan get to 14/15 losses and basically eliminated, but I guess now we can root against Sparty too. Although if it came down to it would they really put us in over Michigan State ever?
Dayton is - just- above UVA for me in terms of hate. Hate that fucking program and their fans that think they are 70's UCLA. If you act like total asses in Maui, HI, I wonder how you act in your cold, shitty rust belt forgotten town? Totally insufferable. I hope they lose every game and Grant and his cheating ass leaves.
I remember working at the Blacksburg Marriott back in the day as a Bellman and Louisville would roll into town and Denny Crum would stroll in with his two Kentucky Troopers at his side like he owned the place... I remember camping out in the snow for tickets (those were good times) and we never won. Seems like a long time ago. Anyway, tonight felt GOOD..
Screw Denny Crum, screw Pervis Ellison, and screw Louisville for how they treated us in the Metro. I hope this is the beginning of an absolute tear of VT poundings in hoops. Maybe in 30 years if we don't lose to them again I'll get over it.....maybe.
Edit: Big thumbs up to the B'burg Marriott, though. I have fond memories of slicing tee shots into the parking lot from the 6th hole (I think it was the 6th hole anyway) back when it was still an 18 hole course.
Louisville athletics prints their own money for some reason. They will be back soon. Why? they will pay top dollar for a big time coach and look the other way when he pays AAU players through adidas. They will be ranked in the top 25 next year. Only need 2-3 top 75 players in hoops to be back.
Now with NIL they don't have to look the other way anymore.
