Hokies Softball ranked 2/3 in the nation.

This might be (without researching) the highest ranked team of any Hokie sport outside football ever. Make sure you tune in today and see the Women take on Diploma U at 4pm on ESPN+.

It's like all of Tech's teams are on a mission to separate me from my money by winning everything ๐Ÿคฃ It's a great problem to have!

Go Hokies!

A decade on TKP and it's been time well spent.

Meredith slaw acc player of week

RHS represent! A 3 homer weekend for her.

F$U and their dirty umpire can suck it.
Looks like the pollsters saw right through their bullshit.

My wife takes the kids and leaves the house while I watch my Hokie games.........nuff said

Who's #1? We want them! (as long as it's not an ACC ump crew)

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

Oklahoma is number 1 and undefeated on the season.

Yet that doesn't tell the entire picture for me. They are #2 in RPI, but I would argue the SEC softball schedule is a lot more grueling than Big 12. And this year I think the ACC schedule is more challenging too, but of course not as much as SEC. I don't think they've had a true test yet.

For instance, here are the number of teams ranked in top 25 for RPI from SEC, Big 12, & ACC.

Big 12 - Oklahoma, Oklahoma St., Texas (next highest is Baylor at 60)
SEC - Bama, Florida, Tenn, Arkansas, Kentucky, Georgia, LSU, Auburn, Ole Miss (followed by Missouri at 26 & Miss St. at 29)
ACC - VT, FSU, Duke, Clemson, Notre Dame

I will give credit where credit is due. Oklahoma played one game each against, UCLA (5), Tennessee (10), and Kentucky (17). But one game is very different than regularly playing 3 game series against the caliber of opponents mentioned above.

There is no doubt in my mind that Oklahoma will go far in the World Series, but I don't think their current record tells the entire picture when provided with additional context.

I agree with you. I'm not a huge follower of softball but looking at the top 25 tells you a lot about the strength of the conference that you play in. I really like our team and hope that we can put it all together for a long run in World Series.

Oklahoma is the real deal and their freshman pitcher is nasty good.

uva - the taint of the ACC
Callused perineum is a symptom of being a uva fan

No denying that! I would bet on them to win it all, but I do think there are many other teams that can hang with them even if they have a few losses. Immediately getting excited about zero losses just doesn't tell the entire story for me.

I'm thoroughly enjoying this, and I never paid much attention to women's softball before.

Reminder for anyone making the trip to Blacksburg for the spring game. Softball plays UVA at 2:00 pm eastern. For anyone who hasn't been to a game, they are a blast!

And it begins... again. Lemley getting called for illegal pitches again (only at key moments though)... Pitching coach gets thrown out again.

Is coronavirus over yet?

The Umps are on the lookout now. The timing for Lemley is terrible. As a freshman potentially losing confidence in yourself right before post season play starts is less than idea.

Is there any hope that this won't affect the rest of the season or post season negatively?

Go Hokies!

I mean she's a gamer it ain't gonna effect her to much. Coaches just gotta keep working on that during off days

I agree, but it's going to be terribly difficult to "fix" her right now. The interesting thing is that Oklahoma's ace does the very same thing and it may even be a worse case TBH. We'll see how things shake out once we are out of ACC play.

HR barrage!

Even when you get skunked; fishing never lets you down. ๐ŸŽฃ
