I was browsing Twitter and saw some highlights of the Professional Development Night the the football team hosted.
I really like this type of event geared towards creating networks between current and former players and providing value after football for these kids.

There is a highlight video of the event at the bottom of the page. Not sure how to embed.

I haven't seen many details about the event, but from what I can tell from social media and in pictures it seems like a really great event.
This is the type of stuff that VT athletics has been sorely missing. The big schools have been doing stuff like this for years.
for all we know, VT has been doing it for years too. It just hasn't been publicized at all.
This is true, I just learned about the whole serving steaks thing at the coaches clinic.
You're right. Knowing how to work publicity hasn't been our strong suit for a while.
They haven't been doing it recently and the coaches clinic/chalk talk stuff is an old Beamer thing that I'm not certain even he was doing as consistently his last few years. I don't think Fuente was actually doing a bunch of really awesome things and just sucked at publicizing it or we wouldn't have heard so much griping from football alum
It was called "The inaugural" by Aaron Rouse and a few others on Twitter. So I am betting this is first time.
How does ones company get invited to such things?
I would reach out to one of the VT Football social media accounts that were advertising it. They would likely tweet or message back with a contact at the very least.
That's the good stuff.
VT is a community. Ut Prosim. It's in our DNA.
