Apropos of nothing.....found this little info item lurking about on the interwebs. Apparently research scientists at good 'ol VPI have discovered a new variety of millipede, and to quote the article:
The lead author of the study, Derek Hennen, is a fan of Taylor Swift.
"Her music helped me get through the highs and lows of graduate school, so naming a new millipede species after her is my way of saying thanks," he says.

No word yet on if Taylor Swift has acknowledged the honor or written a song about it.

Comments
She will no doubt have to eventually comment because this story is going to have legs.
Insert getout.gif.
Take your leg(s).
edit: was thinking centipede
And here's two more...

Reminds of when Britney Spears was dating a Hokie and randomly starting wearing our stuff.
Wasn't the guy's name Kevin?
...and she dumped him because he cheated on her.
In all seriousness, I'm proud of you all. An hour after a comment like this and no one has flamed our less popular former coaches.
We got distracted by all the legs.
TIL
If I had a nickel every time Taylor Swift helped me with a low point in my life.
...I'd have about 3cents.
I had a similar thought.
I think it was "WTF?"
Ok so dead serious I can dig some pop music. Spice Girls, Meghan Trainor, Justin Timerlake, Gangnam Style... name it I can dig it if its good.
So what Taylor Swift songs would get on my playlist?
Not sure if you will count it as good, but Bad Blood is my TSwift jam.
Good one! Fun video.
She produces perfectly adequately mainstream (and very watchable) pop music.
Bad Blood: A bunch of supermodels staged fighting? Sure, I'll go along with that.
Like other mega pop stars, she's an industry all to herself.
For pop check out her albums 1989, Reputation and Lover. Red was more of a mix with some bangers.
She started as more country/country-pop and then transitioned to more pop/rock and now is sort of hitting alternative/folk/pop(sorta). Her discography is a good listen showing her transformation in the music scene. If you have Disney+ check out her studio sessions for Folklore. She talks through and plays her album.
T Sizzle - Delicate
I literally googled "T Sizzle - Delicate" and got no hits related to Taylor Swift.
Then I realized I was/am a dumbass.
Cool video. Thanks for the rec
LOL you're welcome. My ex who is a big Taylor Swift fan called her "T Sizzle" so it just kind of stuck for me. Also, I really like that song despite not being a big fan of her music.
Her original country music was lovely.
As a hormone raging college kid, she had the voice of an angel.
So thanks everyone for the input. I surveyed like the top dozen Taylor Swift songs and none of them are my flavor. :/ Some good videos but no bangers in my book. Much love. ~HOAT
If I have one of these millipedes crawling on me, I'm just gonna shake shake shake shake shake, I shake it off.
As a former LEO, I can neither confirm nor deny the prevalence of this sort of behavior. But the silly things that I have seen and heard during long stakeout surveillances still make me chuckle.
This almost looks staged,
Almost?
I'd bet on it.
like it's from Reno 911 or something
*almost*
"That looks like distracted driving, officer."
Oh this is gold, I don't care if it is or isn't staged. It's gold
"Hands on the wheel, sir!"
The only problem with this is it's the wrong insect. Taylor Swift looks like a praying mantis and also likes to rip her ex lovers' heads off.
I think he heard you...
