This interview never ends...
Often forget Gambino is the head coach at BC. Dude was at Tech for a while under Pete Hughes and his army of north easterners. He was nice considering the amount of shit he had on his plate.
I hardly ever watch baseball but this team is fun to watch. 6-1 win.
Hokies improves to 27-9 (11-7 in the acc) Hackenberg goes 7 innings with 6 hits 2 walks and 1 earned run and strikesout 7 to improve he's record to 8-0 with a 2.01 Era
And Higgins came in for the 6 out save
I have a question for yall who has watched tech baseball this year and the past 20 to 30ish years. It might be to early to talk about this but is Drue Hackenberg one of and is one of the best pitchers Tech has ever had? Keep in mind his record and his era cause he's only a true freshman
I can't think of many more pitchers, although I do remember Brad Clontz pitched in the MLB after playing at Tech.
Like since I've been watching (2006 was the first year I started going to hokies baseball games) and I can think of some good pitchers like Matthew Price Joe Mantiply and Devin Burke but they never had the stats like Hackenberg especially in their freshman years
I had a few classes with David Cross, who pitched back then
Ooo I remember the name. Also I fell asleep for like 2 hours and had a baseball dream and when I woke up I had a nameπ Covid year Ian Seymour was well on his way to becoming the best. He was so fun to watch that year. In his 5 starts he struck out 12+ batters included a start against GT where he struck out 17π
ended up having medical issues iirc
I got to be really good friends with David Cross and Warren Schaeffer when we were in Geography of Natural Resources together. Warren was a fielding machine. He had a ridiculously low number of errors and started all but two games in 4 years at Tech. If he had a bat to match he could have made it to the big show.
Joe Saunders from 2000-02?
Ah yes completely forgot about him π
Hokies get the sweep. 28-9 on the year 12-7 in acc play
Man these porches are clean!!!
Cause they've been Double Swept, baby!!!
Up to number 7 in todays poll.
Watched most of the BC game when Hackenberg pitched. The boy can throw some shit!
I'm going to miss Gavin Cross. If we could get 2 or 3 more power hitters like him we'd be unstoppable.
I know there's a top 200 recruit coming in next years class that's an outfielder and heard he has good power. But the reason he got a big jump in the rankings is because he became a hell of a pitcher in the Last two years
