Hokies in the NFL 2022

Welcome to another year of me trying to find every Hokie on an NFL football contract. I will try to find every roster move in NFL as best I can. As always if you see a roster move please add a comment with it. I will not be doing any CFL or arena league anymore. It's really frustrating and time-consuming feel free to add them in the comments for others if you wish.
I will also add a list of every former Hokies coaching in the NFL.

Ford was the first roster limit cut of the year from the Colts.

I don't have the mental capacity or time to start adding front office staff too brother. Sorry. Same with CFL where we have a couple of players on and off the teams every month.

We have no Hokies on the Falcons' roster. =^(

Never like to see anyone get hurt, but injuries are opportunities for fringe roster players. Hope Brock plays and practices well enough to seize the one he's got!

The Browns would have both Teller and Hoffman making an impact on that O-line.

John Parker Romo was cut by the saints.

He was picked back up by the Saints a day or so ago.

Looks like he's on today's waiver list, so he was cut again

I'm here for the memes, I just stay for the football.

Damon Hazelton was on the Texans but was waived. I think he worked out for the Chiefs but haven't seen any news of him signing.

Who is this Washington Football Team?

Now finish up them taters; I'm gonna go fondle my sweaters.

Nobody can bring themselves to actually call them the Commanders......:D

Just skimming this list, I tried to name the positions of all the players we have in the league.

I'm impressed with the CB and Safety position on defense, which is expected when its DBU, and I'm not sure we have a single LB unless a great strong safety is actually an LB in the league, though Trey Edmunds should have been a linebacker all along.
On offense, we have more RBs than I expected and WAY more OL and TE than I expected. Not surprised that there's a dearth of WR.

And Tyrod of course. Too bad he's in NY

Edmunds at LB and Divine got moved to LB.

Tremaine Edmunds is an LB, no?

Is LB the Latin initials for tackling machine? If so the yes that's what Ednunds is.

Saw Kalil Pimpleton with a few receptions for the lions, do we count that?

Has he been healthy yet?

I just sit on my couch and b*tch. - HokieChemE2016

Unfortunately not.

This may have been omitted because he was cut a day or 2 before this thread was started, but Jordan Williams was with the Dolphins

Ryan Willis also still an UDFA. Spent last season with the Bears practice squad (and was on the active roster for 1 game).

WTF, Sorenson finally cut off all his Sunshine hair? He was so pretty back in the day and until just a few years ago. Also, nice job 49ers on jacking VT's name:
Virginia Tech University

I just dont understand how they an call it professional football with suck amateur mistakes like calling it Virginia Tech University. They got to clean that up I'd they want to be considered a real sports league.

Same for Tapp. Gotta love:
VTU @49ers

VTU is short for VPI&SU.

With cuts this week I'll post as soon as either NFL or team make an announcement of some kind. But expect a lot of active roster cuts to happen and fast.

Bill release Raheem Blackshear. Thought maybe he did enough to get a roster spot.

Probably ends up on their practice squad.

Bills are really deep at RB and he didnt really have a skill set that differentiated himself - I imagine he gets on the PS or ends up on some team that ends up needing him this year.

He definitely showed enough in the preseason to show he's an NFL quality back. Gotta think he ends up somewhere

Brock waived by the Browns. They're short on healthy centers and he played pretty well so this is a little surprising to me.

Yeah, didn't see this coming, but the Brown's roster strategies elude me most of the time. 🀷

Jitterbug Pimpleton cut by the Lions yesterday.

Didn't even know Laquon Treadwell was still playing

Luke Tenuta also released by the Bills

I still don't understand why guys like Tenuta leave early for the draft when they could stay in college and improve their draft stock by playing another year or two.

Playing another year doesn't guarantee you'll improve your stock. He'd already been in college for four years, so if you've already graduated, some guys are what they are, and are just ready to move on, and take their shot.

Regardless of when they go they still have to prove themselves when they get there.

#Let's Go - Hokies

Tae Daley waived/injured by the Cardinals

Tenuta was claimed by the colts

Not surprised that he didn't clear to the practice squad.

Good for him. But DAMN the iggles??? At least he didn't go to the Washington team...

Hey, HokieFireman, how do you create the table in your post? Is that done as an image, or is there some code that I don't know to build a table in this format?

I told him I’d crawl on my hands and knees to be the DL coach at Virginia Tech. Now, all of a sudden, I’m sitting in this chair and I told him I’d still crawl on my hands and knees to work here. I just want to be here.

Did you not study html alomg side with you SQL injection?

Hate it for the guy... But if there is any good news, he's already made his money. Really happy for him from a general standpoint.

Is coronavirus over yet?

Cowboys signed Brock Hoffman to their practice squad today.

My wife takes the kids and leaves the house while I watch my Hokie games.........nuff said

OOOHH. This makes me happy!!!

2 time Longwood grad married to a Hokie.

XFL is starting back up, having their draft today and tomorrow, with play starting in the Spring. Looks like Ryan Willis is on St. Louis. Its still going on but that's the only Hokie I see so far

Anthony Midget out at the Titans, let go along with 3 other assistants including the OC.

Hendon Hooker (always a Hokie!) drafted by the Detroit Lions, third round pick 68 overall.

Let's Go!

HOKIES!!!

I seldom speak to loluva grads, but when I do, I tell them I want large fries.

I don't think I've ever been happier for a player to transfer away from Virginia Tech.

Hooker got away from CornFu, worked his ass off, and got drafted into a really good QB situation in Detriot (while getting some of that sweet sweet SEC NIL money to boot).

There shouldn't be a Hokie that isn't rooting for him, he gave everything to this university during his time here and only left when the situation was untenable.

5 picks later, his Tennessee teammate Jalin Hyatt was taken by the Giants who traded up for him. Hyatt was committed to us but flipped to the Vols in that awful no good very bad 2020 recruiting class

"Why gobble gobble chumps asks such good questions, I will never know." - TheFifthFuller

Did you see where they said "didn't receive any major offers coming out of HS"?

We put the K in Kwality

1) that's a steal for Hyatt
2) I think the rating of the class is worse than it should be. There are a lot of decent players that were at the bottom of that class, it's not a top 30 class by any means, but iron is better than the 76 th ranking it got.

Just because there are 6 okay-to-good players from the bottom of that class does not make it better than 76th nationally. Go look at who we signed.... Only 16 kids and 10 of them are gone already

"Why gobble gobble chumps asks such good questions, I will never know." - TheFifthFuller

Ok, now go look at UVAs class, ranked 10 positions above us, their top 6 players are all defensive players and have less tackles combined than Dorian Strong, they have less combined than Keonte Jenkins. They have 1 starter and two contributors so far. So their 66th should be way worse than our 76th.

If our worst class is 6 starters and a contributor then that's pretty good. It's on par with our 2010 class that tanked VT for years.

How is 247 supposed to grade it with the benefit of hindsight? They rated the kids, we had only 16 (small class) with a low overall rating. Quality and quantity were lacking. It was for UVA too but their avg playing rating in a 15 person class was half a point better than ours. The only way this 2020 class doesn't tank us worse than 2010 is if staff can pull in players from the portal to make up for how awful, including some we never should have let get away in the first place like Antwaun Powell and Malcolm Greene

"Why gobble gobble chumps asks such good questions, I will never know." - TheFifthFuller

I'm not saying 247 should rerank, I'm say that VT did better than paper rating of 76th. It's still not great but it could have been worse.

Chamarri Conner drafted round 4 pick 17 to the Chiefs.

stick it in, stick it in, stick it in!

Really great spot for him. They develop players well and that defense is young, he will get a shot to play early

I'm getting too busy with life to keep this up currently. Coaching three girls flag football teams, season tickets to Jags, season tickets to Hokies, rolling right into my second Masters degree after graduating with my masters of Emergency and crisis Managemnt last Saturday.

Someone feel free to use this template and I'll help find where players go during the season.
