Getting a late start. Almost halftime, Tech is hanging tough. 35-30 with about 3 mins to go in the first half. They are turning Maryland over pretty consistently.

JVZ has missed several key free throws down the stretch here. 37-35 Maryland with a minute to go
43-35 Maryland at the half. All Terrapins in the final minute although the refs failed to call a foul as wilson put up the desperation shot to end the half with a Terp draped all over him.
Has the crowd gotten any better? Was hoping to see good showing for recruits.
Seems like each section is about half full so not empty but not a full house by any means.
The Terp guards are doing most of the damage scoring 30 of the Terps 43 points so far. Too many drives to the bucket leading to baskets or free throws.
Emelogu with 12 points to lead the Hokies with everyone else contributing a couple buckets. We would be in the game if we hadn't already missed six free throws
54-40 and its getting away. Eddie laying an egg and Raines no where to be seen. Sloppy turnovers here in the first few minutes of second half to let the Terps separate
Welp 62-41 and we are anemic on offense. Terps switched to a triangle and two zone defense and Tech can't seem to figure it out
66-50. Thompson got posterized on a dunk but has played pretty well so far. Tech seemed to be making a run but its fizzled but they haven't quit. Terps just trying to run out their shot clock to slow down the game and get out with a win
Glad to hear that they hadnt quit. Looking at the box score it looks like the young guys played fairly well, unfortunately thats all I can get today. Did they look like they were running a real offense or was it the pass around the perimeter crap again?
Well today was about a failure to execute. JJ actually appeared to have them running a motion offense but the shots just weren't falling. 80-60 is the final, with Tech shooting just 37% from the field and 25% behind the arc. Emelogu led Tech with 21 points. No other Hokies were in double digits. Eddie went 0-9 from the floor scoring two points at the line. Thompson brought some surprising energy in this game.
our young guys looked good today. Devin looked tired though. He could really use someone to spell him every now and then.
How many 20 point losses is this? How many in a row? At least three, right?
This is getting really bad. You almost have to try to lose this bad this regularly.
Today wasn't as bad as the score looks, although every game is exactly that bad. Today for the first time this season I saw an attempt to actually run an offense. They got open shots but couldn't hit them, thus the score
It was a solidly played first half. Even held a 6 point lead briefly. Just when it came time for the second half we fell flat on our faces. Jarrell leading the way with that, following up a 23 point effort with 0 fer and 2 points from the charity stripe.
Thanks for the updates & summary.
BTW Eddie is killing any interest I have in the hoops team. Way too streaky. Either shooting 80% or <20%. Super frustrating
Does the team quit on defense or is it just unlucky that the other teams hit everything vs us?
Typically we keep the other teams shooting percentage to the low 40s which is about normal for college. The problem is on the other end when we shoot 35% or worse consistently combined with the other team getting more shots due to offensive rebounds and turnovers
