We have a veteran that appears to be headed to the NFL Hall of Fame playing for the Seattle Seahawks. One of the best Safeties to ever play the position.
We have a new rookie, yet to have taken a snap in an official NFL game, elevated from the practice squad soon after graduation.
We celebrate them both for the fine athletes that they are and that they represent the Hokie Nation well.

#31 Chancellor, Kam SS 6'3" 232 4 years in NFL. Kam is in his 4th season with the Seahawks has been a starter since 2011. He played 16 games his rookie year of 2011.
Kam has had a good year, started 16 games, 65 tackles with 34 assists, hes defended 6 passes and picked of 3 for 78 yards of return.
In the Games against the 49ers he picked off Kapernick in the 4th quarter on the 49ers 40 yd line with 7.5 minutes left in the game. Seahawks were up by 3 pts at that time.
Kam takes Colin's Thunder.
In week 16 he intercepted Palmer (Arizona) in the end zone in the 1st Q.
Palmer don't get to keep it either.

#70 Painter, Vinston OT 66 309 lb Rookie Selected 6th round of 2013 draft.
Vinston has not steeped onto the grass inside the paint yet. Hes only been on the active list for a few games. He yet has no stats but, hes a Hokie, hes in uniform and hes apparently worked hard to make the team. Thats good enough for right now. Id love to see his # on the field and to excel, cement that spot for next year.
How amazing would that be? First official snaps in the Superbowl.

Same here but, I found myself looking up the info to see if any Hokies were on teams I could tune in on Sunday. So, I figured somebody else was probably doing the same thing.
Also Nick Sorensen, former Hokie QB/Safety, is the Seahawks Assistant Specials Team Coach. So there's that too.
I think somebody else told me that too and I completely forgot.
So, if the Seahawks win there's 2 Superbowl rings.
The Broncos haven't posted their inactive list yet, so we don't know if Vinston will see any playing time today.
All the active players, including Painter, participated in the last practice with the exception of DT Sione Fua, whom is doubtful with a calf injury..
