OT: TKP Summer 2022 Gamer's Lounge

What, isn't the summer supposed to be when we're all outside and having fun and all? Yeah, massive heat wave hitting the US means that I'm not going outside anytime soon. And of course the neighborhood can't open the pool because the HOA isn't willing to pay a competitive salary for lifeguards, so.... sigh

So it looks like we'll be gaming it up a bit more than planned. And why not just start it off with the biggest bang of them all.

Callisto Protocol. Made by the same devs who created Dead Space (whose studio was shut down by EA, so they all quit to start a new one). And that gameplay, well I'd be lying if I said it didn't look incredibly familiar.

And I LOVE IT. I know EA is releasing their own Dead Space remake early next year, which itself looks amazing, but I couldn't be more exited about this. The two of those games releasing within a couple months of each other? I hope they're both massive hits. I really want DS2 to get a remake/remaster as well, and I really want the totally not Visceral Games studio to have full autonomy to take the Calliso Protocol to whatever path they see fit like EA should have allowed them with Dead Space.

Ok, and now for an unfortunate update on Gran Turismo 7 from the Winter thread.

I'm really not enjoying it. I thought I would, the graphics are amazing, the car physics are great, it has all the pieces to be a good game. It really should be good.

But Polyphony completely screwed the pooch with the in-game economy. We should have seen this coming when you saw you could purchase credits with real money to 'top off' your account to purchase cars, but its so much worse than we could have imagined. The price of every car is inflated. Cars that used to cost $1m credits in GT6 are $20m in GT7. Every upgrade costs credits. Every paint color costs credits. Roulette spins, something that they introduced for this game for your daily reward, are programmed to give you the lowest payout 99% of the time (and that is usually only 5k credits). Race rewards were basically cut in half from previous games, and custom race rewards are so bad that they aren't even worth exploring. There are only about 5 or 6 different races in the entire game that give a reward high enough that you can actually earn credits fast enough to feel like you're somewhat progressing, but the devs have been routinely pushing out updates to make them tougher to win.

This is a game built to make you spend money to play it after your $70 investment to buy it. And its just not worth it.

I bought Assetto Corsa Competizione a couple weeks ago for the PS5 at $30 and its already a far, far better game than GT7. Driving physics are better, you get all the cars from the start, and its just easy to pick up and play. I know they have a new game coming out in the near future that should be a nice merging of Assetto Corsa and Assetto Corsa Competizione, and I almost have to say that, if you're on the fence about GT7, just get GT Sport for now and wait for that to come out, or get Forza Motorsport in the Spring, 2023.

I picked up The Last of Us 2 on the cheap recently and holy moly this game is great, terrifying, and bleak AF so far. It took me a minute to slide back into my TLOU reflexes and I forgot how great the combat is in these games. On the complete other end of the spectrum I'm actually excited to play Stray when it comes out next month. It should be a good change of pace game from TLOU2, lol.

Also Horizon Forbidden West dropped an update with a new game plus mode, so at some point I'll jump back into that game for another 70+ hours.

I found TKP after two rails from TOTS then walking back to my apartment and re-watching the 2012 Sugar Bowl. I woke up the next day with this username.

Honestly, i'm in a bit of a new game rut right now. Just picked up FC6 but that's going to sit unused until I can finish my latest run through Skyrim. Outside of those two, I think my Summer is finally going to give some attention to the Witcher series.

I picked up FFVII remake on sale the other day and found it to be really enjoyable. Not thrilled with the way it is split into multiple releases, but since i only payed like $35 for it, I'm not unhappy with the purchase.

I enjoyed the way they have broken the turn-based system into a kind of real-time, slowed-time mix and the ease of shifting between characters during combat. It took a bit to get used to though.

I finished the primary story and haven't done much in the parallel one yet.

Replaying HOMM3 (original w/2 expansions plus Horn of the Abyss, which made some excellent improvement tweaks). So nice to play a well crafted game from back in the day (what, 99?) when original games were 30+ hours of gameplay and expansions added significant improvements. Also, with the "just one more turn" mentality, I can also quit whenever I want so it fits my lack of large chunks of contiguous playing time. That and I can run it off a jump drive/Dropbox so I can do it on my lappy, the wife's lappy, or the desktop, whatever's convenient.

I may give HOMM5 another run through when I'm done with this. Only played through that one twice but wasn't disappointed. It's no 3, but has lots of interesting mechanics changes before the series went off a cliff with 6/7.

I'm still playing Elden Ring. I'm almost done with my second playthrough and then I'll have one more for the Platinum Trophy. First ending was Frenzy Flame, discovered it by chance. Second is Ranni's ending. Third will be a plain one. Did a strength build first, now I'm finishing a dual katana playthrough. Not sure what I'll do for the third. After I finish that I'll be moving on the Horizon Forbidden West, then Cyberpunk 2077 and finishing Returnal.

It's Time to go to Work

I went for rannis ending this go the frenzied flame just seemed wacky to me.

Would love if you shared how you did the strength or melee builds they seem daunting to me without knowing how those builds really work

Directions from Blacksburg to whoville, go north till you smell it then go east until you step in it

I went strength and faith so I could use some incantations. Focused on str early and then put points in faith once I could single hand most colossals. For weapons I either used the Ruins Greatsword, nightrider glaive halberd configured for str scaling (sometimes dual weild), or the blasphemous blade and Marais executioners blade dual weild. The ruins Greatsword has a ridiculously strong special move so it was great for killing groups of enemies. The nightrider halberd was my main weapon before that, long reach and moderately fast attacks, great for horseback too. The trinkets that increase carrying capacity are important if you want to wear decent armor with the giant weapons.

It's Time to go to Work

Any other armor sets or weapons I should grab on playthrough one then if I'm looking to go faith and strength next play through?

I went raging wolf armor and loving the katanas with magic build but want to get a high poise and strength setup next go around. I beat the fire giant last night and didnt advance past in case I forgot to pick up stuff before I move forward in the story.

Directions from Blacksburg to whoville, go north till you smell it then go east until you step in it

No I imagine you'll have just about everything you need. I'd make sure you have the Blasphemous Blade from Rykard's soul, if not go dupe it at a masoleum. The great swords are the easiest to use 1 handed with a faith offhand because the strength requirement isn't unreasonable.

It's Time to go to Work

Shoot in still going through my first playthrough. +200 hours and I'm still not done (granted a good portion of that time is from me taking breaks and leaving the game running)

Just made it to the mountain tops and beat the deathbird asshole up there. Still need to go back for the Ringleader Evergaol. Using a strength/endurance build with the Blaspemous blade up to +9 and the bull goat armor. No idea how much longer I have to go, every time I think I'm getting close to the end I discover a huge new area. This is by far the largest game I've ever played. It blows my mind.

"The Big Ten is always using excuses to cancel games with us. First Wisconsin. Then Wisconsin. After that, Wisconsin. The subsequent cancellation with Wisconsin comes to mind too. Now Penn State. What's next? Wisconsin?" -HorseOnATreadmill

You still have a couple areas to go. They aren't quite as big but they'll definitely present a challenge. I missed the quest to get that armor on my first playthrough. I might go out of my way to do it on my third run.

It's Time to go to Work

I was hesitant to do the quest that makes it available but given how events take place regardless if i chose to do the quest or not, it was the correct choice. I can't go any deeper than that without spoiling things for those who are still playing through it.

Still lulling my way through elden ring. Got a bit frustrated halfway through and did a major build update and actually looked around for some help finding better skills and I have to say battlemage is legit. I tend to be overleveled as I wander zones and do almost all the stuff as its kind of my way of enjoying the game but there is so much to do its amazing. Almost at the fire giant as I'm wandering the frozen upper level and gotta say as far as fantasy magical combat goes this game takes the cake.

I tend to rock the moonviel katana and the carian grand staff in the left hand and use most of the legendary skills and gotta say I'm like a god untill I go up on a melee boss but summons make it doable. Dunno if I'll go right back into NG+ once I beat it as I may need a break but when I do I'll be trying a monk/strength build to use some of the faith based abilities I cant use being and intelligence build.

Thanks for keeping these going!!

I uh... Haven't really been playing much, haven't had time to. I beat forbidden West, now I'm just kinda waiting for more to release.

Hey, if you've made the jump to next gen and already own these ( Resident Evil 2,3, or 7) games they just released the next gen upgrades for free!

Also the ReVillage Dlc brings in 3rd person which I think will make it better!

Yeah, I do a multiplayer with a friend and it's great for listening to lectures online while playing.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

Never have tried multiplayer.

I use it to diffuse the tension after an elden ring session when I need something that doesnt get me worked up. Really wish they would have updated some of the tree physics to make the logging avenue not such a pain in the ass. I have to use an autoload trailer to log otherwise loading trucks is the most tedious pain. Even loading a woodchipper is a pain.

My issue is I love no mans land and the setup there until it gets boring having no traffic and no multiple sell points etc. Its fun for big field farming and fun for being able to design and lay it all out to me. Been meaning to pick it up again and see what new mods have been brought into it.

I play multiplayer with friends and its way more fun that way as harvesting and all arent slow.

The changes with seasons and all the other stuff they have added in this variation with supply chain is fun I really like the expanded game much better than 19 now.

Directions from Blacksburg to whoville, go north till you smell it then go east until you step in it

Have y'all run into the issue for contracts don't complete such as harvesting or weeding?

Wet stuff on the red stuff.

Join us in the Key Players Club

On no man's land or on regular maps?

After launch the contracts were super buggy but the wheat and other ones were buggy in that you could finish the contract early and finish the harvest and sell the excess off for pure profit. I think they were supposed to fix that issue last I heard but are you still having issues there? I never messed with contracts on no man's land as they aren't an option on that map sadly.

Directions from Blacksburg to whoville, go north till you smell it then go east until you step in it

Elm Creek I think. Have a canola harvesting contract. Did the entire field, transported it all but stuck at 99%. It's a known bug on XB1.

Yeah on console I don't know if they fixed it yet or not. On PC it's fixed and they made contracts much less profitable to compensate so I don't do many unless it's harvesting time. Wish it was cross play and I'd squad up to play some multiplayer. I need to have my scripting mods to make some tasks like pallet loading easy

Finally beat Duality dungeon on Destiny 2 this weekend ... I mean we didn't try until this weekend, but it was tough with all the random stuff going wrong.

I picked up TMNT Shredder's Revenge. Played 6 levels so far and it seems decently fun and challenging. Side scroller beat em up type of deal. Dotemu was going to get my money either way based on how well they did Streets of Rage 4, I just happened to have $20 in my steam wallet to which covered most of it.

Played the 2 newest Mario Kart Grand Prix's as well. I don't like the 2 of the tracks have a 3rd lap going in a different direction. Isn't part of the fun watching as you helplessly drive into the banana left by the last place guy, then get blue shelled making you want to throw the controller in anger?

Was co-oping TMNT this weekend with my best friend growing up,, felt great like the 90s.

Been playing with my brother, super fun.

Started playing Doom: Eternal but put it to the side. The last one was so good, but this one just seems meh with all the extra stuff in it. I just want a good ole fashioned shooter where I move from point to point and kill everything. Why the heck does there have to be hidden stuff all over the map that I need to look for in order to get the upgrades?

Picked up Subnautica and am enjoying it so far. The listlessness of it takes a bit getting used to since it's basically move at your own pace, but overall it's good.

I started The Last of Us but never finished it. Need to try that again.

I just recently downloaded a bunch of old classic on GOG and their summer sale.

$1.99 for HoMM3. Been playing through it again nonstop.

There was a free update of ES: Daggerfall running through the Unity engine that recently came out, and it is worth playing through that classic again too.

HoMM3. Been playing through it again nonstop.

I cannot recommend the HotA open source expansion enough. So many good tweaks:
-The Cove race is a solid addition
-Neutral creature dwellings accumulate week over week so you don't have to waste time hitting them up every week
-you can choose to not get skills from scholars/witch's huts if they don't fit your hero
-when you attack a bank you get a run down of defending creatures before the battle and you can run
-greatly improved city interface

The only thing is the campaign for HotA isn't that much fun. Way too difficult and limited and the original campaigns aren't available πŸ˜•

Haven't been gaming a lot lately but when I have I've been playing Total War: Warhammer 3. I had zero experience with the Warhammer universe before starting to play this trio of games, and it's been really cool learning the lore and such. They're releasing their giant campaign map ("Immortal Empires") that will include the campaign maps from the past two games later this year in like Q4 I believe, so I'm looking forward to that! Gotta own all three games to unlock it though.

I had to go the RTS/single-player route several years ago as I just couldn't keep up with my friends who game way more often than me. I tried Destiny a couple of times but my buddies were logging like 30+ hours a week and would just one-shot everything when they joined my games haha.

Immortal Empires will be released in August, they are going to call it a beta because it's more than just porting a map and characters from I and II to III (lesson they learned with Mortal Empires in II). I have both games, all the DLC, and FLC since Day 1 Total Warhammer is the first game I hit over 1,000 hours in Steam (first to 2,000 soon, with all three combined). What they talked about in the IE Blog was nice to see what's being changed (SEA LANES THANK FUCK!), the crazy Pope/Not-Pope of the Holy Roman Empire/Not-Holy Roman Empire gonna have a different starting location and mini faction (along with changes to his skill tree) is another example.

*Cracks fingers* Alright class I'm gonna teach you some lessons about Total Warhammer, some helpful and others more than likely not.

Skarbrand always angry boy, only one more angry than him is his pantheon gid Khorne. Also Skarbrand's faction mechanics broken as fuck in campaign and can wreck shit. Khorne approves the slaughter.

Kairos Fateweaver has some fun mechanics but too much thinking, fucking Tzeentch wants everything/everyone to overthink. Barrier for Tzeentch units is actually an interesting mechanic when combined with missile units (which there a lot in that blue bird's faction) can kite well. Also magic, magic, magic, magic....

Kugath that loveable, always smiling, fatass (Grandfather Nurgle approved). To quote a friend that liked to mic spam in a game I play "Oh yeah! Gonna stuff this much mayonnaise- PHHHHHTP! Oh yeah!" Most of the units are SLOOOOW, like some as slow or slower than Dwarfs (shit now I'm in their Book of Grudges) but regeneration is good for them and can tank damage. Thier magic is pretty good too.

Naki will try to find someway to put stuff into any hole he/she/it finds, like how Slaneesh intended...
Their magic lore is kind of weak, but they're big thing is speed and flanking enemy units (which they have an innate ability to lower enemy units leadership even more when on the flank). Seducing an enemy unit before the battle is a pretty good F U to opponents.

OGRES MY LORD! Big Beefy Meaty Blobs of Meat ramming into things is fun no matter what. They balance of comedy and scary as Ogres should be. Gnoblars are nice tarpit units while Leadbelchers, Man-eaters, and other beefy Ogres do the damage.

"Kislev." And the Winged Hussars have arrived! Pretty high leadership units (even the tier 1 units leadership are good) that can hold longer and early tier units being hybrid of melee and missile is good too. Bears, vodka, bears, snow, bears, ice, bears, kossars, and bears.

Cathay never had any models on the tabletop so CA built them from the ground up and are pretty balanced (not too strong and not too weak, that kind of says something when CA can balance GW's armies better than GW). Keep Mao Ying away from the dirty High Elf Imrik, he likes dragons a little too much and she can turn into a dragon.

Then there's the Build-a-Bear Daniel (or whatever name you put) for Chaos Undivided. Can have a massive party with units from all four gods or just choose one, two, three of the gods (ha, ha, ha. If only CA would have Mannfred count like the Count from Sesame Street). Could have some interesting stuff for Daniel but some underwhelming compared to picking one of the mono-gods faction.

lol this guy Warhammers XD

I've played a few campaigns so far -- Khorne, Slaanesh, Kislev, Cathay (easy and boring IMO lol), and just started an Ogre Kingdoms one. Khorne was my favorite so far, but Ogre Kingdom is really fun too. What DLC factions do you think they will have in TW Warhammer 3?

Chaos Dorfs are one of the biggest rumors for new faction DLC, and most likely since they are the last faction from left that had models in the tabletop (CA put a Chaos Dorf quote in a loading screen and got everyone freaking out in a good way). After that hard to say what a new faction will be, all the factions that had tabletop equivalents are in game now except for Chaos Dorfs. Though there was talk of Nippon (Japan/Not-Japan) or Ind (India/Not-India) based on the IE map, but they have to do what they did with Cathay/Vampire Counts making a faction in game that had no/minimal models from the tabletop.

There should be some new Legendary Lords coming, but don't know who exactly or how it will be done (when Total Warhammer II released new LL were just for II's factions but then added LL from I and II factions). I need "FUCKING TODDY" Boris "KHAZARAK TOOK ME FOOKIN' EYE" Todbringer as a new LL for the memes.

I bought No Man's Sky on sale after it had the poor initial launch, but haven't really played it. I heard they kept making updates and that it eventually became an awesome game. I'll have to check it out!

So i believe its been 6 years since release and every content update has been free so far.

Its a completely different game to what it was on release and for me atleast is the perfect chill and wander space game ever made. It has a micro economy and a few high level things but its like a more advanced minecraft in space.

Now theyve added in personal freighters, base building, base building on your frieghter, mechs you can pilot, ground ships you can drive around and submersible ships and base building. Not to mention the derelict crash sites, pirate system, revamped combat its all been hugely expanded on and so well done all for free.

Same here. Bought at launch, played a couple hours... Haven't touched it since. But I did download the ps5 version. I've heard for years how much the game has improved, I just haven't gone back in to test for myself

Currently in my cart for the Steam summer sale, but haven't bought yet:

-Chivalry 2
-Devil May Cry 5
-Monster Train

I had a great time playing Devil May Cry 5. Definitely recommend it on sale.

Assetto Corsa was available for $4 (normally $20), or if you're Dr Moneybags, $8 for the 'Ultimate Edition' (normally $80). If you are into Sim Racing at all, this is a must-buy. The game itself out of the box is pretty good, but what sets it apart is a phenomenal mod community on steam that has been pumping out car add-ons and historic race tracks all over the place. And it has good VR support.

Bought AC and a wheel during the Memorial day steam racing sale. I have so much fun just running laps by myself. It's also fun to download F1 tracks and drive them before the race. I'm already thinking about VR and a proper seat/pedal/wheel setup.

Ordered a 3060 Ti from Best Buy this morning at MSRP! Not a massive upgrade from my current 5700 XT but enough that should keep me satisfied for a couple years. I should've sold my 5700 XT at the height of the mining craze -- I never followed mining but apparently it's a good card!

edit: aaaand I cancelled the order due to some buyer's remorse. I'll probably just wait and use my year end bonus on a whole new rig with a 40xx series card hopefully.

thats making an assumption that the crypto craze doesn't rebound, again. I know its a lot of $$$, especially when compared to buying a new console. My advice would be to wait a little bit up until the new series gets released, then snag a current gen, if you need to wait.

Not a direct comment, but they have a lot of off the field stuff they need to incorporate into the next round of NCAA Football. Conference re-alignments, TV deals, NILs, bag men, department budget management, coaching staff management, social media platforms, facilities expansion, and so on... maybe they just make their own version of Out of the Park Baseball.

EA sucks and they tried to follow up and apologize but it was too late.

I'm not preordering shit from them anymore haven't for a while but I won't preorder NCAA football till I see legit reviews and see if they've made it as poor as fifa or Madden before I think to give them a penny

I have been on a RPG kick lately. Did a KOTOR run after making my wife watch the prequels in preparation for Obi-Wan. After saving the galaxy I saw Disco Elysium was on sale on the switch and I started it yesterday. I didn't get very far, but it seems like it is going to live up to the hype and then some. I am playing as the more psychologically-inclined character and I really enjoyed the dialog, especially when the different parts of your psyche and your necktie communicates with you.

If you feel the leather in your hand let it rip.

Elden ring kicked my ass to the point where I might be burned on single player RPG's for a little so I'm binging on Farming sim 22 and Lego star wars(Since I cant afford real star wars lego sets) and gotta say both are fantastic games.

Star wars is really really well done and entertaining throughout.

Farming sim is the perfect relaxer game, started a new farm on Haut Beyleron and really liking the map. Wish less fields were angled edges but I'm making it work and trying to focus on using used equipment to cut costs and grow quicker.

Tempted to drift into destiny 2 for the new season for a bit to get a little FPS action going.

Looking for a decent second screen for my setup couldnt find the right one on prime day but keeping an eye for a nice sale if anyone has any reccomendations looking for a 27 inch 1440p with 165 hz to match my current one so they look similar.

If you haven't played the last 2 seasons of destiny then it's a great choice. I took 2 years off the game and came back and it's been fun. The two dungeons are really fun (minus the sparrow part of avarice). The reworks of Void and Solar, as a titan, are great. I got my first title this season too.

I did have shadowkeep, beyond light and the witch queen to keep me busy so I'm starting to get to the bring grindy point again, but I have enjoyed this season and the new dumgeons.

I played the last season and took a break to play elden ring so I kind of am already up to date on void 3.0 so I think I'll dip back in just to have a multiplayer fps to mess with.

Classy restoration is a mod for your class item that when you trigger you class ability that your health/shield recovery is really really speed up. Basically full health a moment after triggering it (not instantaneous). Basically a get out of jail free card.

I just joined a server one night and really got along well with all the Brits playing on it. It's laid back but everyone works together to run the farm.

I've become addicted to the autoloading pallet trailers and dont know if I could go to a cross play server. Sounds like a more fun way to enjoy it what map do you guys play on?

Elm Creek but that's just because I'm lazy and don't want to download more maps.

I'm too addicted to modding I like elm creek just a bit small for my liking I like the bigger more Midwest us maps. Haven't found a perfect one yet but I'll keep looking.

Loving all the stuff on the platinum edition coming in November all the new Volvo and Vermeer tools are gonna be great. Really excited for the John Deere logging stuff will make logging alot more diverse with new tree types and equipment

Which multiplayer map is big like that?

I'll answer both questions, if you're on console you can't use mods with scripts but any other mods from the mod hub are cross play.

I really love no mans land as a single player mod map it allows for massive fields and free play but gets a wee boring after bits for me once you get so big. I want to try and find a nice Midwest map but all I've seen so far haven't quite hit it right. Currently using haut beyleron and like it so far

Not sure how I missed Outer Worlds when it was new, but thank god for game pass. I know they're not directly related, but if this game is any indication, Starfield might actually live up to the hype.

I enjoyed some of the feel of Outer Worlds, but it had the same issue a lot of other games have, there are just too few people in them. I don't need a ton of voiced, named characters, but just fill the place with some wandering bodies so it doesn't feel like only 5 people live in a town or that the planet has a population of 25. The world felt so small.

Otherwise, I enjoyed it. Hoping number 2 feels like a more complete world.

Outer Worlds is cool and I am excited for a potential franchise. The comedic aspect of the various emails spread out throughout the world and corporate incompetence/abuse was unique and amusing. Unfortunately, I felt it kind of lost steam for me in the middle third of the game (when you get to Monarch). Both the combat and quests start to feel grindey, as if they put the most development effort into the beginning and very end of the game.

Elden Ring:

267 hours. 5 months. Every Great Rune. I think I could've unlocked all 6 of the endings (might not be possible but you get my point). Went with the Age of the Stars ending since I loved each character associated with it.

My goodness. I had no idea what I was getting into when i picked this thing up.

And the saddest part? I've spent so much time on this damn title I have no idea what to do with myself if I don't play it. I'm going straight to NG+ tonight....

Dear god why would you subject yourself to so much pain? I loved the game but by the end was just ready to be done with it. NG+ felt more enjoyable than the first play through but I just grew weary of the constant death and way the game felt wore me out. I'm on a happy game hiatus finding enjoyable meaningless fun to relax from months of pent up anger and living on the edge of losing all my runes constantly.

I have seriously asked myself that same question. I kept telling myself to just finish it so that I could finally get to Gran Turismo 7. And once the credits finished rolling... I immediately had to start again. It's legitimately an addiction at this point.

NG+ isn't helping. My mimic tear alone beat the first tree sentinel and I killed Margit all within 20 minutes of starting over. It was hilarious to me. It took me over 40 hours of gameplay to get to this point last time. I'm currently barreling through Stormveil and taking so much joy flicking away all the assholes that made my life hell the first time around

I had a blast speed running through NG+ and NG++ to get all the achievements. Pretty sure I ended up clearing those runs in about 3-4 hours each.

Also, Black Knight Tiche >> Mimic Tear

I will have to follow your recommendation and give it a try!

I'll try out that summon as well during my NG+2 run. Just trying to finish off the endings trophy.

Anyone out there that has Netflix and an iOS device needs to download Into The Breach

Turn based/mech-Kaiju battler/rogue like game from the same team that made FTL. Been out for awhile on PC, but finally came to mobile via Netflix's gaming offer (for those of you unfamiliar, Netflix gives subscribers access to a growing number of premium mobile titles)

I've been playing nonstop for days. It's so simple and yet hard as hell

It's so simple and yet hard as hell

I've been saying that about FTL for years... still haven't beaten the game on normal mode.

60% of my way through the queue for my Steam Deck, with the jumps being more significant each email release date. At this rate I'm thinking I'll be ordering mine next week Monday or Thursday. Cannot wait. Starting to finally build up my steam library in anticipation.

New Slaanesh LL coming to Total Warhammer III and Immortal Empires

New Nurgle LL coming to Total Warhammer III and Immortal Empires

New Tzeentch LL coming to Total Warhammer III and Immortal Empires

The new Khorne LL for Total Warhammer III and Immortal Empires

Also inject all the hype and excitement into me after this video.

Some stuff saw for Warriors of Chaos rework I like, Norsca getting some changes but not a full rework yet (still nice they are doing updates for them this early even if not a full rework).

Vampire Counts getting some rework too especially ethereal units being able to stay a bit longer against units with magical attacks but still have decent physical resistance.

Can't wait! Also the map video made me realize I'm about 5 DLC packs behind with Warhammer 2 haha. I think I'm going to have decision paralysis when it comes to picking my first Immortal Empires faction to play lol

Are they just LL DLC Packs (also there are Free DLC LL such as Thorek Ironbrow and a couple others and Brettonia are a full faction that is free) or any of the factions?

Yeah, a few of the paid LL packs like "The Warden & The Paunch" and "The Twisted and the Twilight"

I had to check to make sure I didn't give correct information.

You need Total Warhammer 1 and 2 to play Immortal Empires in 3 by yourself.

If you are with a friend that has all three you can play the IE campaign with them even if you only have Total Warhammer 3 (the friend has to host), but can only play as 3's factions in the co-op campaign.

I already pre-ordered the next DLC (basically four more Legendary Lords for Warriors of Chaos), Total Warhammer (1, 2, and 3) is the only game I ever pre-ordered.

Oh yeah I've got Total Warhammer 3, was just saying that I won't have access to some of those Warhammer 2 DLC factions and lords in Immortal Empires because I never bought them. The Total War Warhammer games are some of the only ones I've ever preordered as well lol.

Immortal Empires is GREAT. I didn't expect it to be perfect but damn CA did some great stuff for Total Warhammer.

Helman Ghorst is fun/hilarious with mostly zombies, a Wight King, Necromancer, and Mortis Engine. Get the zombie tech upgrades in the research tree, have Ghorst get his specific skill upgrades and Lore of Vampire magic for him and the Necromancer.

Haha I'll have to try that sometime. I agree it's pretty amazing, especially considering it's in beta mode. Currently about 100 turns into my campaign and Thorgrim Grudgebearer and the boys are doing work. I think the total faction count has dropped from 265ish to like 120 now haha.

Finally leveling up my Pc rig setup and got a second monitor to add alongside my 32 inch ultrawide as a vertical second monitor so I can have other stuff up while gaming on my main screen. Anyone got any recommendations on monitor mounts for the spring or gas setups? Also going to put some sound foam up on the wall in front and on the sides of the setup to help dampen the noise for when I'm running raids and stuff on the headset anyone use anything like that before?

Directions from Blacksburg to whoville, go north till you smell it then go east until you step in it

its worth checking out Monoprice for both the stands and the sound dampening gear. They frequently have good prices.

Finally got the mount and monitor up, dropped the soundboard idea as it got too pricey and for what I read and talked to people it didnt sound worth the dough. Gonna probably just hang some flags/ mount some shields/props and call it a day. Cant believe I went this long without a second monitor. It would have made Elden ring so much simpler and easier. Also the ergonomics of having the monitor up high makes it was more comfortable to sit and play.

I finally finished acquiring the Platinum Trophy in Elden Ring and Horizon Zero Dawn (that one had some glitched trophies that caused me to play the first few chapters in a fresh playthrough). Starting on Horizon Forbidden West now. I'll probably look to get the Platinum Trophy for this one as well before I move on to Cyberpunk 2077.

Destiny keeps delivering and this season is a nice jump from the traumatizing season of nightmares. Full on scallywag for a few months and loving it.

Directions from Blacksburg to whoville, go north till you smell it then go east until you step in it

I dont hate the ketchclash and treasure hunt thingy already like I did after a week of last seasons repetitive game play.

We have a pirates law in our discord whenever you start a seasonal activity you must request He's a Pirate from the spotify bot to let everyone know your out pillaging and plundering. Those who dont or arent playing destiny are getting tired of that blasting every now and then as we all plunder our way across the stars.

This is a question about a game that's been out for awhile, but for those that have played it how is Deathloop?

It just popped up on Gamepass and wondering if I should put my backlog on hold and give it a go

Just started it on my steam deck and it's pretty damn fun so far!

I loved Deathloop. The dialogue had a Timesplitters: Future Perfect vibe which I really enjoyed. Certainly worth playing.

is this new, or just a hi-res touch-up?

complete rebuild from the ground up. They're using a lot of the same audio files and they're using the same story, but basically everything was rebuilt from scratch to be current gen. From the trailer, it looks like they're also introducing some of the gameplay mechanics from the 2nd and 3rd game (such as zero gravity movement) to the 1st. There will be some additions to the story for people who have played the last game as well.

Also, the game is supposedly a one shot. That is, there will be no cut scenes, everything will be done in the game engine very similarly to how it was handled in 2018's God of War. Which, if true, is a big deviation from how the original game played.

I hope they handle their remakes better than Blizzard

Firing up Nier Automata this morning for the first time. I have no idea what to except, other than over modeled backsides, but I am super excited.

If you feel the leather in your hand let it rip.

Get ready for a wild ride especially if this is your first Nier/Drakengard game played.

Nier Automata was the sequel to Nier (Nier Gestalt in Japan or Nier Replicant it's remaster a couple years ago). While Nier is technically a sequel to Drakengard 1 from one of it's endings, Drakengard 2 is weird placement people don't consider canon because Yoko Toro didn't direct it, then Drakengard 3 is the prequel.

I knew about Replicant, but not about Drakengard. I'll have to read up on them.

I only made it through part of the tutorial before heading to work this morning and I am already thrown off by the acrade-style gameplay opening sequence. This is going to be a good time.

If you feel the leather in your hand let it rip.

Yoko Toro put that in a couple times but it's mainly RPG Hack and Slash, overall I think the controls were done well. I played on the PS4, don't know what you are playing on but if it's PC you can use a controller with Steam.

I don't want to spoil anything, the tone that was set and the setting kept me really hooked in to see the craziness. Also love the music in most of the areas and tried to find metal covers of them since they are really good.

I've really been enjoying Hardspace: Shipbreaker. I'm playing it without the timers and it's more of a chill puzzly game where you still maybe blow up sometimes.
