Week 6 Other Games Thread

Didn't see one, so I'll start it.

I just got back from my daughter's midday softball game, so I haven't seen any of the early slate of games yet and WHAT THE FRENCH TOAST OKLAHOMA

Wrong thread.

49-0 Texas.

Holy crap Oklahoma. No matter how we feel about this season, being down 49-0 in the Red River is worse

So, I thought Venables was supposed to be a slam dunk hire...

I mean the entire offense left with Riley so he's got a rebuild.

He's obviously not it.

If you don't want to recruit clowns, don't run a clown show.

Brent Venables is first Oklahoma coach to ever debut 0-3 in conference play. Yikes.

We now live in a world where you will intentionally change the channel from OU-Texas to TCU-Kansas to see a better game between two better teams

This season is channeling 2007's level of nonsense. And I love it (except that we suck).

By record certainly. Texas will play both of those teams, and I think they are a very good team. Sark, Ewers, Worthy, Bijan and a few other solid weapons is dangerous combo.

I agree Texas is good. I think they beat Bama if Ewers hadn't gotten hurt. I don't think they are better than Alabama, but they had it that game until he got injured

It's a fascinating hypothetical. I think his injury changed the game drastically for both teams in terms of how they were playing. I'm not as certain it would be a Texas win, but I think it's a much more fun game if he stays in. The things they were having success with would have been nullified by the Bama adjustments (which they made by switching the corner on Worthy and adjusting their coverages), but by the same token, Sark's adjustments with Ewers would look different as well. We were robbed of a great schematic chess match with that injury.

Kansas tied 31-31 with TCU on Gameday with their backup QB playing most of the game. Very impressive job by Lance Leipold in short time. Also crazy that they have two quality QB's on that roster.

Uva losing Louisville, who doesn't have Cunningham is nice.

And the poor wahoos are crying into their Zima...

I'm confused...Are we as bad or worse than lolUVA?

We put the K in Kwality

We will find out.

They definitely don't look any better than us based on what I've seen. It's going to be an ugly JV game thanksgiving weekend.

That's going to be my kids' first Hokie game too. 🤦‍♂️

It's still Blacksburg and at least that looks like one of the games we can win left on the schedule.

Also they're 4 so we're probably not going to make it past halftime anyway. Hopefully we'll be winning in a blowout by then.

Great endings on the less exciting noon slot game. Taulia Tagovailoa leads the game tying TD + 2pt conversion drive but the 2pt is called back for ineligible downfield and they have to try again and fail the second attempt. Kansas backup QB had the ball down 7 and made deep into TCU territory before turning it over on downs needing a TD to tie.

I am having a best of times- worst of times experience. My brother in law is a Sooner, but I really can't give him what he truly deserves. Please turn this thing around Coach Pry!

They are oddly in a very similar spot. Great defensive coordinator takes over a program whose offense was gutted by the draft/portal, and left with the subpar defensive pieces left by the previous regime. Their rebuild is just on a different scale in terms of the level/expectation of the program.

Never knew you can fair catch an onside kick.

Personally think that rule is bullshit, but give credit to the player that called.

"That Gritty git doesn't exactly look like a Horkie, but by Gork and Mork it acts like one!"-Random Horkie Boy

Turning this one off. Just pitiful football and coaching on display.

Well, at least we weren't Oklahoma today? 🤷‍♂️

There's always a lighthouse. There's always a man. There's always a city.

Dabo looks like the best football coach in history when you see what Elliot and Venebles are doing.

Wow why would you call a pass in FG range with 44 seconds left down by two?!?!?!?!

Too bad NC State needed to win by 4

One of the dumbest coaching decisions I have seen.

Ol Timmy Hasselbeck throwing around the #GRIT on the call now. NC State is gritty!

Brian Kelly taking it on the chin in Baton Rouge. #TheCajunKiller
