Any Jacksonville area Hokies on here? I thing Daveinop (now in St. Augustine) and HokieFireman are around here, but it sounds like HokieFireman is really busy between family and education.
Anyway, the Jacksonville alumni chapter is looking to reinvigorate - so sharing the invite in case there are some other local Hokies who aren't part of the chapter but would like to go. Reply below if you decide to go, it would be great to meet some other TKP'ers in person!

Fall is the worst time to try and have this meeting honestly. But the First Coast Hokies have some geographic and systemic problems. First we are huge, we run from Palm Coast to Georgia then almost out towards Gainesville. Second a lot of Hokie's in the area are either young and just getting started or older and travel or have major family obligations. We lost our middle ground former president when they moved to Boston and we can't seem to find another one to take her place. Our game watch location is great since it's Hokie owned but it's a brewery not a sports bar so limited TV's, no food. I think we need to find a game location closer to Beach Blvd honestly or split the area up more.
I didn't know you were down this way also.
Yep, moved down in 2020. I posted somewhere about moving before, but you must have missed it (it's not like there's only a comment or two a day on here where it would be hard to miss).
where is the game watch location?
Veterans United when they can get the game on a channel.

Hey, sorry I wasn't able to make it out to see your band. Wound up being extremely busy trying to get our house on the market. Are you guys playing again sometime soon?
next public gigs for our 4 piece setup ("The Edge") are the Fall Festival at Palencia (development west of Hwy 1 between St Aug and Nocatee) on Fri Nov 4th from 5-8 pm. They have kind of a town center/main street deal with shops, vendors, etc. Just look up directions to their golf course.
Then we play at Borrillo's in St Aug on Sat Nov 26 6:30- 9:30 right after Thanksgiving.
Our 6 piece 80's configuration ("Slang") is playing private events on the Oct 29 and Nov 12.
We'll do a blend of the 2 groups (under The Edge badge) on NYE at Borrillo's, which I think is an event where you buy a ticket in advance (it was last year). That should be the best show we'll do all year; with the lead vocals split up, we don't have to be as selective on the content...as long as the guitarist's fingers don't fall off, lol.
I'll definitely try to make it to the Nov. 4 one. I may be going back to VA to visit family around Thanksgiving, Christmas, both, or for the duration between the two.
Moving away already?
Nah, going through an amicable divorce so selling the house. I love it down here.
Sorry to hear but glad you are enjoying the area. Which area of town you going to move to?
Not sure yet. I work virtually. In an apartment in Jax Beach for right now. Getting back into dating. A lot going on, so haven't decided yet.
Make sure you hit up Angie's Subs today. They smoked some pork butts.
