Still poisoned by the old guard of WoW, LoL, and FFXIV.
Been having fun with quicker games like Overwatch 2, Omega Strikers (fun little top down hockey/soccer mash up.
Got my hands on a home brewing simulator since I don't have the space to brew IRL and have been having a blast.
Still on autobattlers with TFT.
I just feel like we've hit the COVID lag where a lot of the space is just indies launching or games delaying. I was really looking forward to Skull & Bones in November but it got pushed into the spring.

My brother and I have been on a FF XIV grind right now (both of us tried the free trial to LVL. 60 and we kept going after that), it feels like a FF rather than a MMO which helped keep us playing.
God of War Ragnarok releases in November, just got a PS5 to get ready for that.
Also Warhammer: Darktide releases at the end of November. Can't wait to play as an Ogryn, if there's a class upgrade to Bullgryn it gets Game of the Year for me.

It's a ton of fun! I started with FF back in like 2013~ ish. The game is such a joy and everytime I come back to it after a bunch of WoW it's like "man, this game is fun and I don't have to play constantly just to have fun." They've got something pretty special.

I'm an OG Overwatch1 player and while I'm glad you're liking OW2, most of the people I know that played OW1 hate it, the monetization is a real buzz kill and the new stuff isnt even good enough to warrant it for us. Were we spoiled with early OW1? Maybe...but that's their fault not ours
I quit LoL in 2020 (after 10 years of playing) and never looked back xD

I'm neutral for OW2, which makes me a rarity in this regard and that's including playing OW1 when it released. Also been playing Team Fortress 2 since that went Free to Play in a 2011 and still love playing it time to time (there is a reason I bring it up in a later paragraph).
It just seemed to me that it's either an "Us or Them" mentality with it right now where "if you love it then you're shilling and other stuff not expanding here for CG reasons" or "if you have it then similar not fully explaining for CG reasons". It got very tiring when I tried to look for YouTube videos about Warhammer (Imperial Guard codex leaks and some new models that look BEAUTIFUL) I'm getting blasted on the front page of videos with clickbaity titles of OW2 (both negative and positive) where I can't give a fuck about because they are trying to get easy views, it was annoying and eventually gave up clicking "do not recommend video/channel" for how sore my hand got.
The reason I brought up TF2 earlier was because that's what people kept comparing OW2 for really bad, and I mean BAD, arguments.
1. The cringey copy pasta "TF2 lasted longer than OW, OW dead before TF2". I don't think a game is dead until there are 0 people playing or it's shut down.
2. it took years for Valve to even acknowledge the Bot problems and when they did do something it was detrimental to Free to Play players, if you didn't buy something from the Mann Co. Store then you can't use voice chat or text chat and those players got kicked from servers instead of the bots because they couldn't prove they were not bots or cheaters, so basically you have to pay to play in a free to play. The bots circumvented it in a couple hours after it was implemented (and still there now). Only until May of 2022 (bot crisis started in 2018/2019) did Valve actually did something, there are still bots but not as bad as before.
3. The argument of TF2 never having pay to win mechanics can be thrown out by showing the Cosmetic Class Sets from 2010 to 2012 (13?). You had to buy certain cosmetics and weapons for some classes to get some pretty broken stats such as "Can't be headshotted with the Crocodile Mundee Set as Sniper" and "OP Revolver and Invis Watch Fez Set that also negated the downsides of the Revolver, Knife, and Invis Watch as part of the set" to name a few. I don't fully agree how OW2 is doing what they are with the heroes but saying that is the only game to do that is very misleading and wrong.
4. I've seen some (not all) make the argument that OW2 is bad because of consistent updates for balance and bugs. I have to question that line of thinking because TF2 haven't had a big update, excluding Scream Fortress events and Smismass because they are community driven where Valve just implement maps and cosmetics and even then problems happen because they don't implement them correctly (example is this year for Scream Fortress one map couldn't finish because implented a Payload Race map as Payload when the map creator even stated it was Payload Race, to add salt to wound the community sent death threats to him when it wasn't his fault). There hasn't been balance changes to weapons since 2018 or even new weapons since 2017, now they fixed some major bug issues for weapons that's been around since 2015/2016.
Do I agree with every change OW2 did and ignore the negative stuff at Blizzard-Activision (it's not just Blizzard, Activision is at wrong too since they are together for awhile now), because personally I think that it's very ignorant of me to do so. I just say let people play what they want. Sorry if it's long winded wanted to get that off my chest.

I think people are upset at others for continuing to play OW2 because if OW2 has steady play numbers, blizzard wont be motivated to change their monetary stance (basically everything except the super base pvp is behind paywall now). And that upsets people because they want to go back the way OW1 was in terms of cosmetics and events, but they wont be able to if ppl are willing to shell out the money for OW2 cosmetics and such.
I have a lot of issues with OW2 that would be way too long for this, it includes cosmetics, battlepass, going to 5v5, pve, bugs, no more loot boxes, ranked system, game balance, on and on
But it can mostly be summed up by "unless my friends are playing and I literally can't do anything else, I'd rather be doing literally any of my other hobbies"
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Oh I totally know what you mean on OW1 v OW2. I think I just came in with a ton of cosmetics and I am not super big on dress up. On the whole, it's a fun party game I can drop in and not take seriously like Tarkov, R6S, or CSGO. I think Blizzard knows exactly what they are doing. People are screaming for loot boxes and people crucified them for having loot boxes initially.
I have a much healthier relationship with LoL now but it largely pops in when other games are dead.

I've watched a lot of Holdfast. A funny little british streamer named SovietWomble plays it and I enjoy catching it from time to time. I was doing Escape from Tarkov but the game is just rough and feels bad to lose. Picked up Marauders as an alternative and so far so good. Faster, still has stakes but doesn't feel as bad to lose.

I don't know if SovietWomble does much (if any) pub servers for now, I haven't in awhile because other stuff, his main thing been the Thursday EU Pub Linebattle on Thursdays.
What I've been having most of my play time in Holdfast right now are Private Linebattles where different Regiments (basically clans) have an hour long 4-5 rounds with only one life in the rounds with sets of rules.
Rules are usually:
1. If Line Infantry have to be in a line to fire or double rank if want to crouch and fire, with a minimum of three players to make a line. Lines are allowed to have Flag Bearers and musicians for reload/accuracy buffs and Surgeons for being teammates.
2. If Light Infantry or Rifleman (max allowed 6-8 to the selected Regiment that requested it) allowed to fire out of line but have to be within five man spacing.
3. Only Cannoneers/Rocketeers can use artillery (with only selected Regiment that requested it), can skirm around artillery if active. I chose this as my main in the Regiment I play with to get hilarious clips.
4. Admin calls "All Charge" after a certain percentage of players are dead where everyone has to charge the enemy and melee, no shooting allowed except in certain Linebattles the admin allows only a single pistol shot if class has it equipped.

Just started playing Assassin's Creed Origins for the first time on Game Pass. Always have heard the AC games are awesome but never played one before. Seems like it'll be pretty fun once I get further into it.

Origins is right up there with Odyssey as a phenomenal story and some really fun gameplay. The environment for the game in ancient egypt is so well done I would love to replay it some day once I forget the story.

I am working my way through Horizon Forbidden West. I've been taking my time exploring and doing side quests. It's such a beautiful game. I will be finishing up soon so I can move on to Cyberpunk 2077. I got the itch to play after watching the Netflix show.

i need a break from the rogue-like maddeningly hard for a bit. I'm going to take my FTL trophy and cherish it, and play something a bit more linear with a save point involved.
and i swear, what made the difference in this one time was a single weapon (vulcan cannon) that I had never acquired every in my roughly 200 hours of time logged on this one game.

The original witcher literally less than an hour ago got announced by CD Projekt Red that they are working on a remake in unreal engine of the original witcher.

Oooo I might need to check that out. I tried playing the original way back when it was relatively new and even then the mechanics felt real dated and janky. I tried pushing through but just couldn't.

Its being rebuilt in unreal engine 5 and that should look amazing. I really hope they update the gameplay or it will feel really clunky. I imagine it will be a bit still till its out but it will be a really nice reason to redownload and old goodie.

I have all but abandoned Gran Turismo 7 at this point. Such a disappointing game, they completely ruined the driving sim aspect of the game by introducing an in-game economy that basically forces you to MTX if you want to drive anything more than a shitbox. Super disappointing, especially after previous iterations were not nearly this bad. Pure money grab, and Forza Motorsport is going to eat their lunch when it comes out next year.
For now I'm going through a F1 22 campaign. Game has its faults, but its still fun. I'm basically biding my time until God of War Ragnarok, Callisto Protocol, and the Dead Space remake come out. Got into a GTAV replay on the remake, and it still holds up, surprisingly.

Ever since I signed up for iRacing I haven't really enjoyed any console racing "sim". Forza Horizon is still a ton of fun, but GT and FM just don't do it for me anymore.
Might download F1 22 since I have EA Play through GamePass, could be fun to play through a couple seasons.

Yeah I'm starting to realize that I need to just bite the bullet and get a PC for some racing. I have an ultra-widescreen monitor that will work excellently for it, but none of the consoles support it. And even something like Assetto Corsa is excellent with the PC modding community.
And if I ever want to upgrade my setup from what I have, getting a wheel and pedal for PC rather than console is so much easier with so many more options. Just that initial entry cost is decently high.

Been binging into destiny 2 enjoying finally getting into the raiding scene and running raids every weekend has been alot of fun. Current seasonal stuff is fun as well.
The wait however for the Platinum Edition of Farming Simulator 22 is agonizing with every detail released it keeps looking better and better. Itching badly to get my hands on it in 3 weeks.

You playing D2 and decent level? Were always teaching raids since we run all sorts of raids so drop your bungie profile name and number and I'll add you to my friends list. Always looking for people to raid and anything to not needs to use randos. We typically run raids on weekends like friday/saturday nights anytime from 5-6ish till 2 am just depends on the evening but a typical raid is start around 8-9 and finish whenever we finish.
Dunno what platform you use but we use discord to communicate as well.

I'm 1600 right now, i have a group of me and two others that play so we don't raid, but we do dungeons and nightfalls. I've never tried a GM though. So probably decent enough.
My bungie I'd is King James 424#0828
I'm on xbox.
2 AM might be a bit late for me though.

Just a couple weeks into raiding after rerolling on a fresh server for Wrath of the Lich King Classic.
And of course, the wife has been watching videos and is now contemplating playing in Dragonflight, so we're levelling characters through Shadowlands right now. What a shitty expansion that was.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
I just can't get into the game any more. I get the bug every once in a while, but my peak in that game was the endgame content in Wrath. I basically skipped Cataclysm, came back for Pandaria, left again, rolled a new character through Warlords... and then I just lost interest. I couldn't even tell you what the other expansions involve other than Illidan apparently shows back up again.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
It's a little easier this time around, but it's still Wrath, and that was peak WoW.
I'm done after this. No Cata classic, no Classic+ for me. But will still probably get at least one toon to max level in Dragonflight, if the wife is still interested in playing.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
This kind of what I figured. Pandaria was probably the closest any of the expansions came to matching the fun level of Wrath (post Wrath... Burning Crusade was awesome). I think the mistake Blizzard made was going all-in on WoW without focusing on another RTS (Warcraft IV) to expand on the lore.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
I've been coleading a guild and we have AOTC every raid since Nzoth. Shadowlands just was a gut punch. Confusing systems, scandals all over the place from Blizzard, really slow patch cycle. Glad to see it go. Really not excited for Dragonlands. I honestly think WoW would benefit from almost going hub based with minimal open world activities. Their raiding, M+, and PvP are all mechanically alright, but the story is a drain, the grinds are transparently artificial and made to keep you logging in. We've had huge problems with player retention in a once a week raid setting. Can't imagine running 3-5 nights a week.

PC version. I don't have anyone to play miniatures with and I can't restart painting miniatures.
If someone could explain the various PC versions, as it is I can't even make heads or tails of any of it, too much knowledge or experience is already assumed.

Vermintide 1 and 2 is Left 4 Dead in the Warhammer Fantasy universe, personally I think has better mechanics than L4D. Same developer (Fatshark) is making Darktide which is set in the 40K universe that will release on November 30th of this year.
Total War: Warhammer is the Total War game mechanics set in the Warhammer Fantasy universe and the battles mechanics really well together since Fantasy already had units in formations based on the tabletop. This one can look scary to get into money and DLC wise for having 3 base games, Total Warhammer 1/2/3 (I started when 1 came out and kept up with all the releases), so I say start with 1 to see if you like it and then 2, then 3 to ease into them.
Space Marine was a good hack and slasher/third person shooter from the Xbox 360 era (also on PC), even on keyboard the controls are decent. Had the only Ultramarine character I liked with Captain Titus, well two the Veteran Sergeant is also badass, telling Leandros to stop sucking on Matt Ward's dick and his Codex Astartes.
Dawn of War and it's expansions, inexpensive to get on Steam with the base game and all three expansions (Winter Assault, Dark Crusade, and Soulstorm) maybe $10-$15 total now, was the first Warhammer video game I played. It's an RTS that shown it's age but still fun today. The sequel Dawn of War II is decent also with changes made to the formula where less base building and with some extra RPG elements added. Ignore Dawn of War III, it's shit.
Mechanicus was a really good one that came out a couple years ago where it's turn based X-Com style, all the units and characters are Adeptus Mechanicus facing against Necrons. When the Mechanicus characters speak you hear static because they literally speak in binary which is a VERY NICE touch, there is text boxes for when they speak so you know what they are saying. Also the soundtrack *chef's kiss*, a fucking banger that is.
Battlefleet Gothic 1 and 2 is a really good 40K one where it's space battle RTS with the campaign map turn based resource gathering and base and spacecraft building.
That's some of the big ones I can think of. There are some other Indie stuff out such as Shootas, Blood and Teef that has been fun and reminds me a bit of Bro Force with the gameplay.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Take this with a grain of salt but it seems like you want to do more of the Total War stuff. It is kinda minis, but is real time strategy instead of turn based. There are tons of 'leagues' on line that do organized play if that is the thing you are into. Reddit actually can be a great way to find people to play with.
My big gripe when I did dip my toes in was how people power gamed. It isn't wrong by any means but isn't the same as a local game of "Dwarves are cool! I'll fight your orcs."
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
I only did multiplayer maybe once or twice for Total Warhammer (not counting Co-op campaigns with brother and friend) and never cared much about it just because it's not my thing for the game.
Basically my almost 2,000 hours of Total Warhammer are campaign that's where I had the most fun and sometimes do stupid stuff such as a doomstack of Empire Flagellants with Volkmar, a Bright Wizard, a cannon.

Side from 30fps, the combat is fun, and the story is good. It's also got a great leveling system, you level up one character then you get ap/xp for all your characters. Each character has their own unique set of skills and combat style, I'm having a blast and my friends are too. Co-op makes it even better.
I'd say it's a less polished Spider-Man, but it's not too far off - seriously, if you were curious I'd say jump in. It's getting better the more I play and I've put a ton of hours in already.
I started with Nightwing, switched to Batgirl, now I'm playing as Robin (Tim Drake). Next up is Red Hood.

Just started it last night. So far I'm intrigued, but wish I knew it was completely separate from the Arkham series before I started.
If you loved the Arkham games, just know this is not the same. Styling, it's similar, and probably could have been a direct sequel, but it's very much not.

Would recommend caution. If you're into campaigns, the last few CODs have been short and lackluster. Multiplayer is fine, but a let down. Grindy and incentivizes microtransactions. The last good COD game was original MW2
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Black Ops was also very good. Campaign was different but IMO just as good as MW2. I think it gets underrated because it was right in the middle of the MW series. Plus it had zombies lol

There are a dozen FPS games I could get called a slur and have a zoomer jacked up on gfuel stomp me on. No need to rebuy a game from the early 2000s for 70 bucks.

I've been playing it. First COD game I've had since 2012-ish.
It's okay, decent way to pass the time. I don't get *as* frustrated as I used to get when I was really into these games back in the day.
My biggest gripe is the Skill Based Matchmaking (SBMM) instead of ping-based matchmaking. If I have a good round with a 2.0 KDR the game will throw me into ultra competitive lobbies and I'll just get absolutely melted and end up with a 0.5 KDR for a couple rounds.
Using the killstreaks like Airstrike and Chopper Gunner were very satisfying back in COD4, but in this game I can barely get UAVs in those ridiculous SBMM lobbies.

I downloaded Warzone 2 and played a few games. It seems more polished than WZ1. It just sucks you're at a major disadvantage if you don't buy MW2 and can't level up guns and create loadouts as easily.

So, apparently MW2 hauled in over $800M over the weekend...

I have a One X and am looking to upgrade at some point in the next few months - torn between trying to snag a Series X (or S), or picking up a SteamDeck now that they're available again.
Anyone here own a SD and/or have opinions on it? I don't have a gaming PC nor do I have the cash/desire to build one, so I think it could be a good alternative for me.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Not sure just how powerful the steam decks are compared to a switch but I cant imagine they are a ton better. If you want bang for the buck the series x is the way to go.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Steam Deck is significantly more powerful than the Switch. The Switch is essentially a tablet designed in 2017. The Steam Deck specs are more in line with a PS4 / Xbox One.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Still wouldnt be much of an improvement on the current console he has then but they can be useful if you travel for work etc. I know some games arent on the steam deck either which would be a bit of a snag. Can you mod games on a steam deck?
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
You can mod many/most games, but it's a bit harder to configure than on Windows. At least for me.
As far as power goes, it's gonna be somewhere in between the One X and the Series X, but I'm not entirely sure where. In any case, it's a damn impressive handheld, and still looks decent on the big screen.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
what's your goal with the steam deck? If its gaming on the go then I think its a fine device, but if its your alternative for playing PC games I would honestly invest the money in a new Xbox or PC. With either of those alternatives you get a larger library (because not everything is playable on Steam or the Steam Deck). Steam doesn't have anything (yet) like Game Pass (which is also available on PC) so if you like to play a lot of games vs. buying a lot of games, the Xbox/PC approach is probably your better alternative, even if its more of an investment.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
That's fair. I guess it would mainly be for a variety of games that I don't get through Game Pass, but the portability aspect is fairly interesting to me. At the moment, I think I'm definitely leaning more Xbox, just looking at this as a potential alternative.
From my (limited) research, it seems like a decent entry-level gaming PC is probably running something like $1k-1200, correct? For as much as I actually have time to play a few nights per week, I just don't know that I could really justify it over a new Xbox for half the price.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
For me the real question of the value of gaming PCs comes down to your non-gaming use cases and what hardware you don't need to replace (assuming a custom build).
If it is just for gaming, the console is the better value.
If you are using the machine for gaming and productivity, don't need a new monitor, can reuse your DVD drive or video card, how state of the art your PC needs to be, etc. really changes the value discussion.

I've been a Microsoft guy for quite awhile now. Wasn't necessarily my intent, but once you get the XBox, than the 360, than the One...you are in the vortex at that point.
I've got a Series X now which basically runs my house now. I stream everything through it. My son can't stop playing Forza Horizon 5, and Game Pass offers some amazing indie games that my daughter plays (Calico, she's addicted). It's an amazing console when you consider the whole offer.
I have a Microsoft Surface for work calls from home, and I can still download the less intensive games to play off Game Pass.

I love our Steam Deck, but my wife and I mostly use it as a complement to our gaming desktops, either for playing Steam games on the TV in the living room or untethered from a screen entirely. I'm not sure that I would buy one to be my sole gaming PC, but it is a damn impressive handheld device.

Ok so I've put a little time into Gotham Knights and.... I dunno, its starting to feel a bit repetitive. The controls are a bit off at times, the things that worked well with the Arkham games (ziplining into a glide, for example) are extremely janky in this one. I like being able to control more characters than just Batman, but there's just something about the game that feels a bit hollow. Its very much a game where you're not really encouraged to explore, its just a 'go to map, set destination, drive cycle to point, defeat enemy, repeat', with eventually some main storyline quests sometimes randomly popping in. And while those main story quests are fun, there's just something missing from this game that was there in the Arkham games. It just doesn't feel entirely polished.

Meh I don't care too much, because it genuinely doesn't impact me. I just don't like seeing anyone getting continually downvoted across multiple threads. That's the kind of behavior that could cause a small few people to ban anyone new before they've had a chance to be known here.
Enjoy the Arkham games. They're legitimately great plays and still hold up today.

can you imagine the effort it would take to single handedly downvote a user enough to knock them off the top of the mountain?!? Talk about Alum living rent free in that person's head...sheesh. Whoever it is (and I had a DV stalker for a short period of time near the end of the Fuente era), it has to be exhausting to go through every thread and downvote each comment by a single poster. Vampire Survivors. I think it is also on Steam Deck. The graphics are low-fi and you literally just use the left joystick...and I can't stop playing. It's like a bullet hell game except you're the shooting the bullets. It's wild, and I will play a 30 minute run and not even realize it.

I was going to get it for my son, but all the reviews say that the optimization is just terrible on the aging hardware. Lots of graphical issues and slowdown.
It runs better on PC emulators

There have been a ton of issues with it how it runs. Graphics quality and some glitchy animations - there are a lot of YouTube compilations of some of the funnier ones. They are a bit of disappointment for me, but I'm still very much enjoying the game.
They're trying a more open-world approach so the story isn't as linear as it was in original games, and some of the new pokemon designs are still pretty good/creative for how long they've been at it. It's pretty fun to just go out and explore in the world - we've been playing it nightly in my house while we've got sports on in the background

The graphics on the game just aren't that good because of the switch but it's really fun to play so I would definitely recommend it as a Christmas gift.

It's currently 445am. I just finished the main story of God of War Ragnarok.
Without ANY doubt, God of War 2018 & Ragnarok are absolutely, positively, definitely the two best games that I've ever played. Just... Incredible. In-cred-i-ble. Wow. I am so blown away.

I finally started No Man's Sky after getting a copy during Black Friday. I have the luxury of missing out on the release and jumping in after 6 years of updates, but wow this game is pretty incredible if you like exploration and survival/creative games.
I've pretty much always been a space/sci-fi nerd and for me playing NMS is like getting to jump into my 10 year old self's imagination and play around. Never thought I'd have this much fun blasting rocks, I'm pretty sure my wife thinks I'm losing it.

As someone who has ridden this game the whole way since release its such a beautiful game, I own it on damn near every platform I play on and enjoy it all the time. Its a fun game to hop on binge for a few weeks then come back at a later date. They have been so good about following up and producing seriously good content. Its minecraft with better graphics in space!

Wondering if anyone had recommendations for controllers to play on PC? I have been using an old XBox One controller via Bluetooth and it's starting to die/lag to where I'm ready for a change.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Honestly I just use an Xbox one controller that I plug in to my computer with a USB cable. There's probably a way to get wireless to work but I actually sort of prefer wired, especially since you should be close to the monitor with a PC anyways.

Get the xbox controller USB adapter it used 2.4ghz connection not bluetooth to reduce lag. I have been using the elite controller for years just upgraded to a series 2 this week and love the things so well made.

I use the old xbox controller plugged into the PC. No issues at all. If mine breaks I would have to upgrade to a xbox one controller. However I might be curious to see how the PS5 controller would work as it has the adaptive trigger buttons, not sure if the xbox one controller has those.

Xbox one controller works like a dream on the PC either plugged in or wireless. I've never even had an Xbox in my life yet it's still the best PC controller I've ever owned.

Bought quite a few off of Steam last weekend and have been playing "Cold Waters" because I loved playing the Jane's 688 as a kid. Not quite the same, but it's pretty good. Also played a little bit of FAR: Lone Sails which is interesting but a bit repetitive.

Anyone here running a steam deck? Having to change jobs where I will be traveling more regularly and dont quite have a new laptop in the budget and was looking at some of the alternative handhelds and kind of like the idea of the switch but curious how it does?
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
I have one. I think it plays and feels great, but the battery life isn't exactly great - so you'll just have to tweak the settings a bit to get some more life of it.
I haven't even gotten into the rom and emulator aspect of it all yet.
Highly recommend checking out the steam deck subreddit, though, for a more technical take than I can offer: https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/

I like what it offers for on the go gaming for me it would only be used for it allows me to play games I cant on the switch and a cheap laptop still isnt as good of deal as the switch is. To me it feels like a solid fit for traveling and with the dock can be used on a tv still as well.

Overdo Inland Empire, it makes for an interesting playthrough. Also, depending on how you feel about spoilers check into hoe to get the different endings. There are 3 I believe.

Has anyone tried Callisto Protocol, yet? I've seen the reviews come in and its been largely panned, but from some of the videos I've seen, it seems to be a fun play.
Just wondering if anyone has any hands on experience, yet, before I consider buying (after finishing up GoW: Ragnarok)
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
I've got 5-6 hours of gameplay on it so far. I'm enjoying it quite a bit. 7.5-8 out of 10 so far for me, about in line with most reviews. It can definitely be challenging. Resources like health kits and ammo have been rare.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Personally, I decided to wait.. The reviews weren't great but they weren't bad. Dead Space is literally right around the corner so I figure I'll have a bit more patience. I, too, was a big fan of the series.. Minus 3. I hated dead space 3.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
I liked 3 for what it was, and appreciated that it followed the story. But it definitely diverged from the space horror to go more space action in the sense that Alien and Aliens are 2 different movies.
And yes, the remake is a Day 1 buy for me. I'm probably going to wait for CP as well, mainly because I probably won't be able to finish before the remake is out.

Played through Titanfall II and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Haven't tried playing the MP but may get there eventually. I'm more of a SP/Campaign person.
Playing through Tropico 6 and it doesn't disappoint. Definitely love being el Presidente!

I just got to the final credits after work yesterday. Phenomenal story, and definitely opens itself up nicely to a DLC and possibly a spin-off. What a great game, I'll definitely play that one again.

Dwarf Fortress finally released on Steam. Has updated visuals, interface, and couple of QoL changes from the ASCII version.
"Losing is Fun". Even if it does not have a winning condition and there will be catastrophic (some hilarious) events that kill all your Dwarfs, some examples I read were cat overpopulation that suffocated all your Dwarfs (or CPU), Elephants do not forget or forgive and will kill all dwarfs, Elf cannabals, and the hilarious story of Boatmurdered of lava killing every dwarf on the map.
Also in the previous Gamer's thread someone started Nier: Automa and wondering how far they got and if they are getting to some of the more Grimdark stuff.

Witcher 3 update drops tonight at 7pm EST and all the reviews look good so far. Incorporated some mods to help with inventory and such looks like PC gets the biggest overhaul while next gen consoles get a 60hz lock mode and a few other nice bells and whistles along with new armor and some weapons and some netflix stuff as well.

Witcher 3 is probably the game I've logged the most hours in of any game other than WoW. I LOVE Wild Hunt.
It's like playing a whole new game with the 60FPS performance mode. I literally felt like the combat is completely different (and better) the way it runs now.
Time for another 90 hour play through (along with the expansions)

Someone that understands consoles please explain to me why/how Sony is going to be able to build the dual sense edge controller and sell it for $200. That's absolutely insane, and I KNOW people are gonna line up to get it. I get that it's loaded w features but still...

That game is great. I was playing it before Elden Ring came out and have never gone back to finish it. Got stuck on Biome 3 and just haven't grinded out the runs. The boss in biome 2 whooped my butt a number of times.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
I was thinking about it, but read that they had some really bad performance issues? I just got a switch and have been playing BoTW mostly, so I'm in no rush either
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
I know it had a bunch of issues at launch. It seems like there are less now. A little slow, frame rate wise, especially in certain parts of the map and I think its crashed for me a couple of times over the month or so I've been playing (it autosaves though and both times this has happened it reloaded back to where I previously was). I think they're continuing to patch the game thankfully. All that being said, I love the game. It's been really fun and the fact that it's fully open world is super cool.

Don't know if anyone has played Grounded but that game is super fun and unique. It's basically Honey I Shrunk the Kids x Rust (or some other survival game). It's on all platforms and on Xbox Game Pass. Even been playing on my phone with my Razer Kishi v2.
Highly, highly recommend.
Otherwise, I'm just waiting for Diablo 4 and the Harry Potter game to come out next year.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Literally just waiting for it to be optimized for Steam Deck, every much looks like my type of game. I haven't checked in a month or so, but every time I do check the latest is that it won't run on the deck. (Don't have Xbox or PC)
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
That's a shame it won't run on the steam deck. Like I said, I've been able to run I streaming (without install) through my phone from Xbox game pass. I can definitely see how it'd be resource-intensive though. Even with the semi-cartoony art style it's still a gorgeous game, and the render distances could mess with any machine.
I started playing Inside on Game Pass earlier this week. It's short (only about a 2 hour game) but its a lot of fun. Side scroller puzzle type game, but I'm a big fan of puzzle games, so I'm digging it.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Same developer, I believe. Limbo was my first game in that type of gameplay. Loved it, it was a bit more difficult than Inside.
I want to check out Somerville (same developer) but it doesn't seem like it's prioritized well for the steam deck (frame rate drops a lot & stuttering)
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
You'll definitely enjoy it if you liked the other two. The only actual connection between the two is that the founder of Playdead went on founded the developer that made Sommerville

I'm taking a break from Total War: Warhammer 3 and have been playing Factorio in my spare time. Idk if anyone else has ever played it, but wow I just got to a level last night where my brain was kind of melting trying to keep up with all of the automation that was going on. Really cool though!
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Factorio is one of the few games I have actually finished (i.e. launched the rocket). If you create everything yourself it is definitely a brain drain. I pulled it out again a few weeks ago, too.

Beat Spiderman on PS4, weeks before beat ghost of Tsushima. Been playing BoTW on my new switch, first nintendo console I've owned since the gameboy color lol. Decent bit of Civ 6 when I get the chance, started a new game with Abraham Lincoln who was just introduced.

I have No Man's Sky, but I'm so new I didn't even realize there was a multiplayer component to it. I have this one on PC but I have no idea if it supports cross-play.

I'll have to look when I'm done replacing all 11 of our smoke detectors that decided today was the day for them to all crap out. Love alarm linked systems when they work but when they fail it sucks.

I think you have to progress to a certain part of the story to unlock the hub where you can meet other players. Not sure though since it's been about 2 years since I did that.

I caught Guardians of the Galaxy on the cheap and it's entertaining AF. The crap talking...I mean party banter...had me falling off the sofa laughing. Unfortunately that game got pushed aside now that I have some time to dig into GoW Ragnarok. It's so damn good it's all I want to play.
Also on the side I've been playing the Final Fantasy games in order since there's been a pixel remaster. I've only ever played a handful of these games so it's been really fascinating to see the origins of this franchise. I'm on V now. Those first three were ROUGH, however I'm digging the SNES ones so far. It'll take me years to get through them all as a side gaming project.

Finally got Platinum on GoW Ragnarok yesterday. After reading all of the nonchalant platinum comments in this thread I really didn't think it was going to be that difficult. And then I went into certain events cocky as hell. Finally made it through but SHEESH

I was probably being a little too vague trying to avoid spoilers. But Hrolf and Gna. I spent 6 and a half hours trying to beat Hrolf. Took me longer than it should've to realize that I was being way too aggressive and had to memorize his moveset to block and parry effectively.
Gna on the other hand, there's no amount of memorization to make up for being able to react as quickly as you need to. Some of her movesets just seemed unfair.
And I was playing them on the balanced difficulty.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Being 100% honest, I bumped the difficulty down for some of the Berserker fights and the "boss fight" in Muspelheim.
I can play games like Elden Ring and Dark Souls III all day long and love their challenge, but there's something about the combat in GOW 2018 and Ragnarok that just doesn't click with me on these harder fights. I don't have the patience these days to try those GOW fights over and over, so that's why I bumped the difficulty down just to power through.

Found my old GameBoys and games at my parents house this weekend and have already put 7 hours into Pokemon Red again. Good game in it's own right, but the nostalgia is hitting hard too.

Some of y'all might know I've gotten into sim racing the last few years. My wife helped this addiction over Christmas. Between her and my in laws (whom she basically told what to get), I got the Thrustmaster load cell pedals and the Thrustmaster Ferrari SF1000 wheel and I'm in absolute heaven. The load cell pedals make a huge difference in feel under braking and the wheel just has so many working buttons that it really does add a whole new level of immersion to the experience, and the built in screen is pretty awesome as well.
On top of that, started another playthrough of Jedi Fallen Order since I never got to it originally before my PS4 died. So much fun, especially on the PS5

I finally starting getting into the whole rom/emulator thing on my deck. After a bit of trial and error, I got Twilight Princess working!! Just as good as I remember, but the game does suffer from some pretty bad frame rate drops at various points. But it looks to have been an issue with the rom itself for years now, regardless of hardware.
Next up I think I'm gonna get Wind Waker and Skyward Sword.

Medieval Dynasty on Gamepass...I'm hooked
Giving my "What am I playing?" report:
So I think I'm nearing Shadowbringers end, but this is what feel like I am after Stormblood and currently in Shadowbringers now.
The general take among my friends is Stormblood is good, suffers from having 3 plots, and would be considered great if it was in WoW.
Shadowbringer blows it out of the water.
Endwalker is significantly better.
Enjoy it!
No worries on the rant
Wait. Why the fuck would you want to pretend to make beer? You can't drink the pretend beer.
Don't be silly. You pretend to drink it. That way it's lo'cal beer.
I need something to do while drinking beer. :(
Holdfast: Nations at War is great when drinking beer, especially 150 player servers with proximity chat.
For anyone looking for a relaxing, gorgeous experience...try Medieval Dynasty on Game Pass.
Middle Ages "life simulator", no fantasy, no magic, no dragons, etc. just straight life. It's a lot of fun and easy to lose a few hours
I am working my way through Horizon Forbidden West. I've been taking my time exploring and doing side quests. It's such a beautiful game. I will be finishing up soon so I can move on to Cyberpunk 2077. I got the itch to play after watching the Netflix show.
This has me more hyped than I should be. Give me the Bullgryn class for the Ogryn and it's automatically Game of the Year in my book.
The game is now a decade old, but I FINALLY completed a run in FTL and defeated the Guardian

Now on to another game that's ever older.... The Witcher
I won't stop you from playing The Witcher. Wild Hunt is my favorite game of all time.
But if you loved FTL, time for you to get Into The Breach. That game is maddeningly hard
i need a break from the rogue-like maddeningly hard for a bit.
I've been meaning to start looking for raid groups cause I haven't ran a raid since vault of glass, on D1
Just finished another play through of Bloodborne.
Getting back into Destiny 2 for while.
I'm gonna jump all over God of War when it drops in a couple of weeks.
For those that have Game Pass, Plague Tale:Requiem is fantastic.
I really loved the first one (Innocence), and this is more of the same but absolutely gorgeous to look at. It pushes my Series X, I can't imagine what PC specs you would need.
Just a couple weeks into raiding after rerolling on a fresh server for Wrath of the Lich King Classic.
And of course, the wife has been watching videos and is now contemplating playing in Dragonflight, so we're levelling characters through Shadowlands right now. What a shitty expansion that was.
It's a little easier this time around, but it's still Wrath, and that was peak WoW.
I'm done after this. No Cata classic, no Classic+ for me. But will still probably get at least one toon to max level in Dragonflight, if the wife is still interested in playing.
I am doing more Survival RTS games like Age of Darkness and having fun.
How do you start playing warhammer?
They keep coming up with DLC or something but I can't figure out what base game I need to get to try it out.
Which one?
Total War Warhammer, Vermintide 2, Dawn of War, other stuff I can't remember or the Tabletop?
Thank You
Take this with a grain of salt but it seems like you want to do more of the Total War stuff.
Very close to finishing Cyberpunk, started Gotham Knights, simply cannot wait for God of War
Interested in Tunic.
How is Gotham Knights? I've heard nothing good, so im hesitant to buy it
I wouldn't listen to the reviews on this one.
The reviews and scores are blasting Gotham Knights like it's video game equivalent of The Room. However the people I know that are playing it are really enjoying it.
Just started it last night. So far I'm intrigued, but wish I knew it was completely separate from the Arkham series before I started.
If you loved the Arkham games, just know this is not the same. Styling, it's similar, and probably could have been a direct sequel, but it's very much not.
I think I'm going to buy MW2. It'll be the first COD game I've played since at least 2011 with MW3.
Would recommend caution. If you're into campaigns, the last few CODs have been short and lackluster. Multiplayer is fine, but a let down. Grindy and incentivizes microtransactions. The last good COD game was original MW2
Black Ops was also very good. Campaign was different but IMO just as good as MW2. I think it gets underrated because it was right in the middle of the MW series. Plus it had zombies lol
MechWarrior2? They're remaking that? ;^)
"Kill the meat. Save the metal."
Mercenaries may not be the best/most loyal MechWarrior but at least they are not filthy Clanners.
I've played Mechwarrior Online for a long ass time. Game is still going so if anyone wants to give it a shot DM me.
Mechwarrior Online is distinct from Mercenaries, or is it the same?
MechWarrior Online is PVP while Mercenaries (if I'm assuming MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries) is PVE with up to 4 player Co-op.
It is distinct, Online PvP. Game has been around since 2012. Has a small but dedicated community.
Wow someone else who played MWO? I can't believe that game is going still.
There are dozens of us. Dozens!
*Light Mech scurries away making Locust chirps to find out of position Heavy Mechs to punish.*
There's definitely a dedicated fanbase that keeps that game going, despite everything. It was the only game I played for years and years, but I just couldn't keep going.
Obligatory
You can add me on steam "mdmzero0" if you want and maybe I'll hop on again sometime.
Will do, I think i recognize the name from somewhere. I am "Haji1096" on there.
If you ever saw/went to Mechcon or watched any of the competitive stuff from like 2014 through 2018 you may have. But I stopped playing/being involved in the community mostly in 2019.
With the teaser from Amazon about the Fallout show I'm about to start back down that road again.
War, after all, never changes.
Also, related Halloween content

I'm a littlle shocked that there has been zero posts about Modern Warfare 2 (unless those that playing it never took a break between Friday-today).
I know there was a commercial for it literally EVERY commercial break this weekend. It was stupid repetitive.

Game Pass is about to crush it this month.
If you haven't had the chance to play Vampire Survivors...it's incredible. Pentiment from Obsidian, and a new Monkey Island game. The console arms race for these live services has made for some great times
Not sure just how powerful the steam decks are compared to a switch but I cant imagine they are a ton better. If you want bang for the buck the series x is the way to go.
Steam Deck is significantly more powerful than the Switch. The Switch is essentially a tablet designed in 2017. The Steam Deck specs are more in line with a PS4 / Xbox One.
Still wouldnt be much of an improvement on the current console he has then but they can be useful if you travel for work etc. I know some games arent on the steam deck either which would be a bit of a snag. Can you mod games on a steam deck?
You can mod many/most games, but it's a bit harder to configure than on Windows. At least for me.
As far as power goes, it's gonna be somewhere in between the One X and the Series X, but I'm not entirely sure where. In any case, it's a damn impressive handheld, and still looks decent on the big screen.
what's your goal with the steam deck? If its gaming on the go then I think its a fine device, but if its your alternative for playing PC games I would honestly invest the money in a new Xbox or PC. With either of those alternatives you get a larger library (because not everything is playable on Steam or the Steam Deck). Steam doesn't have anything (yet) like Game Pass (which is also available on PC) so if you like to play a lot of games vs. buying a lot of games, the Xbox/PC approach is probably your better alternative, even if its more of an investment.
It just doesn't feel entirely polished.
lol I see my personal stalker has downvoted this comment as well.
Just upped you to even out.
The chatter on here about this actually inspired me to go back and try to get into the Arkham games. Ordered the trilogy last night on Amazon for 25 bucks.
I've noticed that lately! Wonder what the deal is with the person. pretty lame waste of time.
No idea, really. Don't really care why, to be honest. Just someone who is being a bit of a bitch and it's making me laugh.
Look, if you make enough comments and they down vote you enough in another 23 years they can over take you as #1 in legs
23 years?
Shit, by then we'll all be doing this in the Metaverse where there will be a virtual Turkey Leg Throne that we'll be battling over. And no matter what happens, it'll still end up better than Season 8.
Oh, and based on the partnership in DC, sometime in the mid 2030s, Bezos will buy Virginia Tech with intention to offer an online degree available for anyone who has a Prime account.
if it means we'll have the kinda money Liberty has to throw around on the gridiron I'm here for it
/s
can you imagine the effort it would take to single handedly downvote a user enough to knock them off the top of the mountain?!? Talk about Alum living rent free in that person's head...sheesh. Whoever it is (and I had a DV stalker for a short period of time near the end of the Fuente era), it has to be exhausting to go through every thread and downvote each comment by a single poster. I don't think I'm cut out for it myself.
Its genuinely sad and pathetic, and its still going on (as you can see at the end of this thread, as well as everything I've said in the MLB thread), and has been going on for the better part of the last 3 months.
Someone is literally searching for my comments and downvoting them one by one.
Oh come on! You know it makes you feel important.
Some men just want to watch the world burn.
Seems like a good purchase to me. I've never played them but I've watched all the let's plays with xcalizorz on youtube.
It's a less polished Spider-Man, but I'm still having fun.. Just... overlooking it's short comings. I'm honestly just killing time before God of war Ragnarok.
This. There's a couple games I'm replaying a chapter or two of, but all of that is going to go away when Ragnarok gets here.
https://thegameawards.com/nominees
Do want GoW Ragnarok to win GOTY, but if Eldin Ring wins it I won't be mad. Total Warhammer III better win best strategy and would love to see Tunic win best Indie.
CoD better not win any awards, Squad is 100 times better than CoD especially if CoD wants to say "Modern Warfare".
I'd be okay with Elden Ring winning GOTY but could also see why it wouldnt.
I've been playing this game that just came out on Game Pass the last few days and it might be my favorite of the year.
Vampire Survivors. I think it is also on Steam Deck. The graphics are low-fi and you literally just use the left joystick...and I can't stop playing. It's like a bullet hell game except you're the shooting the bullets. It's wild, and I will play a 30 minute run and not even realize it.
Ha, I've been playing this too. I saw a review that described it as "the best game to play while listening to a podcast" and agree 100%
That's a great description...and I just can't put it down
I keep seeing this game get brought up. Especially on the steam deck sub. I may have to check it out
Anyone playing MW2 Free multiplayer?
I.do.not.want.ragnarok.to.end.
I.do.not.want.ragnarok.to.end.
I'm about 2 years late, but just beat Ghost of Tsushima, what a fantastic game. Loved the world and sword play plus the stealth options.
I still play Ghost almost daily. Have you tried legendary yet? The multiplayer portion?
I haven't yet! I guess I still have to finish everything and drive the Mongols out and collect all the unieu armor/technique
While I thoroughly enjoyed the ghost experience, I found myself burnt out by the third act. To the point where I haven't completed the dlc yet. I did platinum the base game though.
yea clearing outposts and stuff does get repetitive. I was also pretty burned out by the third act, probably why I took like 2 months off between the second and third act
It's an incredible experience. The visuals and sound design are also fantastic. I loved the story.
Unless you're trying to play it on the Switch though...
The game is really fun. The performance is just sad. It's nothing game breaking but the pop in and half rendered characters make me sad. I saw a clip of a 60 fps mod on emulator and it looks way better.
This is what I've heard from my friends who've played. It looks like a potato but it's the most fun they've had with Pokemon in about a decade.
Christmas is coming, so my interest is piqued. What's this about playing it on the Switch? (That's my kids' preferred console of choice.)
Somewhat of the joke that it's only on the Switch.
I did the pre-order for Darktide and able to play the pre-release beta after the 17th, it's been fun especially throwing heretics around and an artillery weapon is small arms for an Ogryn.

Saw this come up on kickstarter:
Board game adaptation of Heroes of Might and Magic III
Oh man. I started Portal on my steam deck yesterday and I'm addicted. What a fun game.
Got portal and portal 2 on sale for a dollar each during the steam autumn sale.
These are some of the best games of all time. Enjoy the ride.
Portal is the greatest. My kids still love playing it.
Happen to play on Xbox? Is it a good quality game on console?
This game is the best. Finally found a ship with the right color palette. Meet the Hooptie mkXII.

Darktides's character creation in a nutshell. Gunga is a great Ogryn name.
Wondering if anyone had recommendations for controllers to play on PC? I have been using an old XBox One controller via Bluetooth and it's starting to die/lag to where I'm ready for a change.
Honestly I just use an Xbox one controller that I plug in to my computer with a USB cable. There's probably a way to get wireless to work but I actually sort of prefer wired, especially since you should be close to the monitor with a PC anyways.
What kind of games do you like playing? I love 8bitdo controllers, but they definitely lend themselves to retro gaming.
currently playing spiderman remastered. Most others that I use a controller for are sports or flying (Star Wars Squadron).
I would just get a PS5 or Xbox controller depending on personal preference.
Finally got around to playing Disco Elysium for more than a half hour.
Really love this game. Really takes me back to the days of Full Throttle, Dagger of Amon Ra, and Return to Zork.
Such a good game, the attention to detail with the story and all of the npcs is incredible. The voice acting for your thoughts was amazing.
Well, I finally finished this one and it was really a fantastic ending. What a well put together world and story.
Now I have to go back and try my best to go insane.
I've got 5-6 hours of gameplay on it so far. I'm enjoying it quite a bit. 7.5-8 out of 10 so far for me, about in line with most reviews. It can definitely be challenging. Resources like health kits and ammo have been rare.
Would you recommend a buy now or wait til it goes on sale next year?
Dead Space is probably one of my favorite games of all time, so I've been very intrigued about this one since it was announced.
Personally, I decided to wait.. The reviews weren't great but they weren't bad. Dead Space is literally right around the corner so I figure I'll have a bit more patience. I, too, was a big fan of the series.. Minus 3. I hated dead space 3.
That's a good plan. Wait for the Dead Space remake and get CP when it's on sale.
IXION just dropped on Steam today. Looks like Frostpunk in space. I will probably eventually pick it up, but Factorio has my attention again.
Played through Titanfall II and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Haven't tried playing the MP but may get there eventually. I'm more of a SP/Campaign person.
Playing through Tropico 6 and it doesn't disappoint. Definitely love being el Presidente!
Getting closer and closer to the end of the main story in God of War Ragnarok
Without spoiling anything, this is my current state of mind
I platinumed it a couple days ago. So so so good
I'll find out soon. I just scored a PS5 Ragnarok bundle on Amazon through their invite program.
Portal and portal 2 are incredible. That is all.
Fired this up yesterday on my Series X.
The same reason people paid premium for Scuff controllers or the Xbox elite controller.
Got the platinum on GOW Ragnarok, now on to playing Returnal. Dying a whole lot in Biome 2 but having a lot of fun.
That game is great. I was playing it before Elden Ring came out and have never gone back to finish it. Got stuck on Biome 3 and just haven't grinded out the runs. The boss in biome 2 whooped my butt a number of times.
Anyone else get one of the new Pokemon games?
I was thinking about it, but read that they had some really bad performance issues? I just got a switch and have been playing BoTW mostly, so I'm in no rush either
Literally just waiting for it to be optimized for Steam Deck, every much looks like my type of game. I haven't checked in a month or so, but every time I do check the latest is that it won't run on the deck. (Don't have Xbox or PC)
They just released a big update a week or two ago, looks like there's ways to get it working.
I started playing Inside on Game Pass earlier this week. It's short (only about a 2 hour game) but its a lot of fun. Side scroller puzzle type game, but I'm a big fan of puzzle games, so I'm digging it.
Have you played Limbo? Earlier release from the same studio, but very similar game in terms of puzzles/mood
Same developer, I believe. Limbo was my first game in that type of gameplay. Loved it, it was a bit more difficult than Inside.
I want to check out Somerville (same developer) but it doesn't seem like it's prioritized well for the steam deck (frame rate drops a lot & stuttering)
I played through Somerville when it hit Game Pass.
Good game, but I liked Limbo and Inside more
Worth checking out at least?
You'll definitely enjoy it if you liked the other two. The only actual connection between the two is that the founder of Playdead went on founded the developer that made Sommerville
I haven't, but I am going to play it and Somerville after this. I really liked the Unravel series too which is the same sort of puzzle type game.
I couldn't put Inside down once I started it. Very good game, indeed.
I'm taking a break from Total War: Warhammer 3 and have been playing Factorio in my spare time. Idk if anyone else has ever played it, but wow I just got to a level last night where my brain was kind of melting trying to keep up with all of the automation that was going on. Really cool though!
Sports Story, the sequel to the best Switch game, is out now!
Looking for multiplayers on Apex, MW2 or No Mans Sky. Any Christmas noobs out there like myself?
Hokie Fireman5
I have No Man's Sky, but I'm so new I didn't even realize there was a multiplayer component to it. I have this one on PC but I have no idea if it supports cross-play.
I'll have to look when I'm done replacing all 11 of our smoke detectors that decided today was the day for them to all crap out. Love alarm linked systems when they work but when they fail it sucks.
I'm on switch. Hopefully they add multiplayer at some point, but for now it's single player only.
My screen when I start game has single player or multiplayer "play with friends and visit their worlds"
I think you have to progress to a certain part of the story to unlock the hub where you can meet other players. Not sure though since it's been about 2 years since I did that.
I've got MW2 on PC. You can add me: SoupNotzee
Sent.
Out of curiosity, which parts did you find difficult?
I was probably being a little too vague trying to avoid spoilers. But Hrolf and Gna. I spent 6 and a half hours trying to beat Hrolf. Took me longer than it should've to realize that I was being way too aggressive and had to memorize his moveset to block and parry effectively.
Gna on the other hand, there's no amount of memorization to make up for being able to react as quickly as you need to. Some of her movesets just seemed unfair.
And I was playing them on the balanced difficulty.
I turned the difficulty down twice.
The 3 vs 1 berserker fight, and Gna.
Frustrating as all helheim.
Yep, I stuck with the balanced difficulty. And they were still bastards to beat. God bless anyone who attempts beating them on God of war mode
I've seen videos of people thrashing Gna on GOW mode in about 13 seconds and I just can't understand how.
That is in. Sane.

Even after watching it several times I have no clue how that is even possible...
Found my old GameBoys and games at my parents house this weekend and have already put 7 hours into Pokemon Red again. Good game in it's own right, but the nostalgia is hitting hard too.
that reminds me ... I need to get my old Guitar Hero guitars from my parents house so I can play some Clone Hero on PC
Jedi Fallen Order is a great game. I had a blast playing through it for the platinum trophy. Very excited for the sequel.
I hope you're playing Jedi Fallen Order using the wheel and pedals
Naturally. The force feedback really helps with the immersion
