Agree. I really like Pry a lot but he needs to show he's willing to make changes. A lot of buddy type hires on this staff right now. If Pry doesn't work out I do wonder if that impacts Whit's status.

Plays like this are where I can cut the coaches a bit of slack. Really well sequenced drive and the players execute...until they don't in an epic way and it kills a chance at points.
I'll give them credit if they continue to build on them. So far this year, they will go into turtle mode and just run up the centers but and then try a long/slow developing pass (for a sack).
Of course the next drive out we run that pass play to the RB in the flat twice in a row so...
Giving them credit for that fumble is a reach. They literally did nothing but fall straight down to get the ball.
We have another qb that started for an SEC school. He hasn't played this year....what do we have to lose, put his ass in.

I will say, the nice ST play seems to have breathed some life into them.
I see the same sloppy tackling and out of position problems we've had all year; but I don't see a lack of enthusiasm. They are trying; they're just not good enough.

Look, I've been avoiding criticism of this team all year because I believe it's a true Year 0 and it mostly doesn't matter. Obviously the penalties are a criticism, but the special teams is atrocious, and shouldn't necessarily be judged on the same level as everything else because it's not as difficult to fix. Stu better get his shit together, he's got a lot of experience, but man...I don't know.

This is emblematic of his ineptitude and lack of passion as a football coach based solely on my anecdotal evidence when the camera pans to him a few times a game. I will conveniently ignore that he is the head coach and defensive playcaller and not the offensive coaching staff, or whether the note is for addressing it in practice, or if the player in question won't be on the team next year, or that the line is learning a new scheme, or if yelling at players or showing emotion on the sideline has any correlation with winning football games.

Earlier this year I preached patience with the coaching staff because we really just don't have a good roster and its hard to make chicken salad out of chicken shit.
However, the last 2 weeks the players themselves have absolutely shown legitimate improvement to their game, and our playcalling has absolutely let them down. We've been in position to put both games out of reach and our own coaches are slitting our own wrists from the sideline. Its flat inexcusable behavior from men who absolutely should be better than this.
Bowen needs to go. Going pass happy as Holsten is gaining 5 or 6 a clip with a completely gassed defense is batshit insane. Strip him of playcalling duties. That gamble didn't pay off, Pry.

Like, I know the roster sucks, we don't have a team of good players, and we knew this before the year. But the last 2 games have been absolutely winnable, and our offensive playcalling has absolutely shot ourselves in the foot over and over and over again. I just don't get it.
This isn't playcalling, this is an absolute inability to execute.

Holsten is getting 5 or 6 yards a clip on that 2nd to last drive, and as soon as we cross midfield, we throw 3 times leading to an INT. THAT is awful playcalling in a very high leverage moment
Perhaps, but that's not really what lost this game.
There were plenty of opportunities there, and we just didn't have the ability to take advantage of them.
We literally fumbled it away.

Wells is not really aware of what is going on around him and is too slow reading the defense. Too many sacks because he is still surveying the field when he runs out of time and does not see the defender closing in.

Right now Wells could throw 8 picks and still be in the game. There has to be some consequence to not doing what you're asked and not taking care of the ball.

The consequence is losing. Brown had a worse INT rate at SCar last year and can't make the plays Wells can make. It's all bad, but there's not a better option.
We aren't winning any games. How in the fuck is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results better than playing another QB. That makes zero sense.
Wanna get absolutely blown the fuck out in winnable games? Bench Wells. Try another QB who has both a lower floor and a lower ceiling and is just as chaotic. Good luck.

The fans are the ones that continue to pack that stadium despite the shit show that continues to be put out on the field. Coaches and players will come and go but the fans will always exist. Spoiled in no way describes our fan base because ultimately you're insinuating that we didn't appreciate what we had when we were a good program.

Pry's floor is obviously lower thanks to Fuente, but we'll hopefully see a higher ceiling at some point

He looked deep, wasn't there, open field in front of him and he chose to try to pick up the first down. Might have picked it up but the ball got knocked out. If he doesn't get it, there's still enough time to where they can scramble to keep running plays. There was like what, 1:00 minute when we snapped? Still ok to go down in the field of play. In a perfect world, yeah, its better to throw it away, but its not like the decision was the worst either.

They played hard for 3 quarters but you gotta figure out how to finish. Defense has to get stops. Offense has to hold on to the ball.
They did they just couldn't finish and kept letting GT back in the game. Offense executed pretty good for the most part. We had a missed fg and fumbles deep on their side of the field that should have lead to points.
It's an improvement overall on the season. They played well but yeah the guys on the field need to learn how to close.

Stop blaming the players. They played hard and didn't lose by making stupid/selfish plays. They lost trying.
This is...and every loss this year is 100% on the coaches. Pry need to take a hard look at himself and raise his hand asking for help. This staff cannot win. I don't care of you gifted them 5-star lineup (it's not lack of talent). Good coaching is doing more with with less. They will not put the right personnel in the game, call plays to their strengths, or perform basic game management skills.

Edit: my issues with coaching calls is throwing when running is working which led to the INT and the super soft coverage on 3d and 19 allowing them to convert.
I'd say the long TD drives were on the coaches. Who called the alignments to put Dax in coverage (or kept him in the game when the entire stadium knew they had to pass)? Who back off the blitzes? Who made the alignment calls to leave the entire middle of the field wide open for delayed draws?
Good coaches put players in positions to succeed. Ours do not.
Dax is a good linebacke5, but not a pass coverage player, DON'T FORCE HIM TO DO IT!
