The Lady Hokies host Nebraska in the ACC/BigTen Challenge Nov 1 at 7 PM. The game is on the ACCN. Nebraska is 5-2 with losses at #20 Creighton and Drake. Their wins were at home against Omaha, Houston Christian and Tarleton and in Puerto Rico against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Miss State.

Nebraska has two Australians on the starting team: #34 Jr F 6'2" Isabelle Bourne and #1 Jr G 5'9" Jaz Shelley. Overall they are tall enough to compete with the Hokies. At 5'6" Amoore is going to be challenged guarding a taller opponent. Nebraska does have a 6'5" Freshman who has not played yet this year; so Kitley will, as usual, be the tallest player on the court.

Nebraska will shoot the three, averaging almost 9 made threes per game. Except for Bourne, all the starters shoot 35-40% from three. Perimeter defense will have to be good in this game. Nebraska averages 43% overall shooting; the Hokies defense is going to have to step up in this game. The Huskers have out rebounded their opponents by 10 per game overall and 4 per game on offense. Again, the Hokies are going to have to work to keep the Huskers off the offensive boards.

In their last game against Miss, State Shelly scored 32 points on 7-12 from three and 4-4 from 3 in the overtime. Fellow Australian Bourne had 18 points and 5 rebounds. 6'3" Soph Center #40 Alexis Markowski had 15 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists to go with her 6 points; and she did this against a 6'5" RSr center for Miss State. Kitley is going to have to work hard against her. Nebraska led most of the game, but missed 5 of 6 FT's in the last minute to allow Miss State to tie the game.
The Ladies have not really been challenged yet this year, although Kentucky did come back in the fourth quarter to make the final score closer than the game actually was. I don't know if Nebraska will be their first competitive game; but it should be a good game to watch. Nebraska does have the balance to be a challenge defensively; lots of shooters from outside and a strong center, who will step out and shoot the three.
Unfortunately I can't watch because I have a 7 PM meeting tonight. You guys will have to bring home a winner for me to watch when I get home this evening.
LET'S GO HOKIES!

What's the word on Traylor? They said she's unavailable tonight, but they did not say why.
Kitley one point shy of the double double do far
Amoore two boards and two assists shy of a triple double.
There's the double double for kitley
Double double for Amoore. Just needs two rebounds for the triple
Triple Double for Amoore!!!
This is a very cool tweet.
Well, I might have to pick Liz over Georgia; but I would be fine with them finishing 1 and 2 for player of the year.
Just checked the box score. Good gals up by almost 30 points in the 4th and 7th ranked Notre Dame just lost. Ladies looking to move up further in the rankings.

ACC 6 -B1G 5
ACC winning in 3 of 4 remaining games.
It's 5-5 correct with the 4 remaining games?
No for some reason Ladies are playing 15 games.
Yesterday finished in a 3-3 tie.
Today is now 5-2 ACC with 2 games remaining.
ACC has won the Challenge by reaching 8 wins.
Ah, ok thanks. I was having difficulties finding the 15th game, still am.
It's a good year when the ACC takes both the men's and women's challenges.
#6 UNC and #7 ND both lost.
#3 UConn plays #7 ND on Saturday as only other Top 10 head to head. Doubtful ND wins that though.
NC St makes it 9 wins for ACC.
Miami still losing to Mich.
Great win to pull that out with Kayana out and Ashley leaving hurt. Any word on if either will be back for Sunday game vs Tenn? Great start, and way to bury them in the fourth. I was a little concerned when the refs starting calling all the fouls the other way near the end of the half to keep it close, but we avoided the foul trouble and Kitney provided the answer to get us through to the fourth.
When Ashley left hurt holding her hand, I realized that Kayana wasn't there. I was very worried about depth in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Then the women came out in the fourth and annihilated Nebraska.
