Big time
FAM
difference maker at WR
Ali Jennings #s vs VT in our loss there this year:

5 catches for 122 yards, longest catch: 38 yards.
He kicked our butt.
Unfortunately I'm not sure kicking VT's butt this year isn't much of a resume talking point...
(Clueless downvote missing the joke, I see...)
He can catch a ball that's thrown to him.
We can use a WR like that.
I know that the numbers look good but didn't we hold him to 0-2 catches until really late? I vaguely remember the announcers saying he had no catches at half🤷🏾♂️
I went back through the play by play data.
He had a catch for 16 yards and a fumble in the first half and was only targeted one other time.
Late in the third quarter, and then especially in the fourth, they started throwing the ball to him a lot more. He was their targeted receiver for most of their throws, almost all of his receptions went for 20+ yards, and he drew a pass interference penalty as well.
This sort of lines up with my memory of the game. I mean no disrespect, but throughout the game, as our offense continued to sputter, I kept thinking "wow, ODU's quarterback is legitimately awful, and they can't run the ball well enough to come back without making plays in the passing game." It also seemed like ODU's staff knew the QB was struggling, and they didn't really challenge us downfield very much.
As the game got into the later stages, and it was more do-or-die time for ODU, they started throwing caution to the wind and hoping Jennings would come through. And, sure enough, he did come through a few other times.
I'm too lazy to go back and watch the game, but I wonder who was covering him?
FAMing to this one...big time portal win for us!!! Let's keep it going!
Edit: We kept it going...
Nice pull by the staff. Can def be WR#1 on the depth chart next year.
Fontel Mines needs a raise. he's putting in some work.
How many years does he have left?
2 I think
Nvm its 1
Nearly had a 1000 yard season, had 9 TDs, First Team All-Conference.
I'll take him! Welcome, Mr. Jennings!
Now we just gotta get that man a QB
Edit: got that man a QB too?
Um check the other threads ...
Ka-pow!
How many times on here have we talked about needing to establish a Highland Springs pipeline with Loren Johnson as the HC there?
This commitment by Ali Jennings plus Takye Heath and Braylon Jennings means Pry has landed more Springers already than Fuente did (two)
Add one more for Pry 😬
Good catch!! I just went by what 247 was reporting for scholarship players
Yea, really excited to see this. HS and Oscar Smith used to be our bread and butter. Needs to be that way again.
Is this the commitment video that was being put together the other night?? Regardless, this is very exciting. Keep the momentum going!
Two months and a day ago, I commented one of French's reviews wondering if VT was recruiting Jennings:

Glad it came to fruition and I wonder how much proxy recruiting was involved in getting him here and when it started. This is a great get for the Hokies. And Fontel Mines has now recruited him twice through the portal.
Big ass sack of Hardee's coupons.
If you can't beat 'em, get them to Join you?
seeing this about an ODU player made me cry again

At this point, we can't be too proud to fix things.
We need to be the best we can be, and we need to fix our Virginia connections.
Pry and company are doing a great job.
Considering how bad this team was, I'll take not losing to Liberty and (technically) UVa.
Better than 17 YPC the last two years, two seasons ago he was over 1000 yards and last season he almost got it again. Great get

Good frame, can go up and win 50/50s. Very productive despite having a garbage QB and OL. Plus, more connectivity for Commonwealth recruiting, as he is a Highland Springs product that slipped by/was underrecruited by the last staff.
He and WR Antwane Wells were the same class coming out of Highland Springs. If you'll recall, we were in for Wells as a portal transfer out of JMU before he went to USCe where he had a really good year. Nice to finally be working the recruiting connections we should have been all along
I just bought my ODU season tickets so I'm taking credit for this one. My clever NIL money via other universities' athletics funds is paying off.
You're welcome.
The Virginian-Pilot now reporting that his transfer may be delayed.

Reports surfacing that he may be stuck in the elevator.

quality post
ON3 says he's making $153k in NIL 💪🏼💰Correction: His NIL 'value' is $153, not his earning.
Jennings was given a 92 rating by 247 -- really good get by this staff
Yes this a great get.
But knowing our luck the No. 1 tranfer WR was like Kaleb Smith or something.
I'd rather have the No. 2 transfer who wanted to be here.
I mean currently (as of this morning) mr. smith was somewhere around .82 (no rerank) and while Ali is shown at .92 I haven't seen him on the "ranking page" where he would be tied (with at least 4 other dudes) for "2nd"
