I know I give mixed signals on a lot of this stuff, so apologies, but if we do an individual thread for each expected signee it's going to flood the board. Might be better to reserve a new thread for any new commitments or unexpected signees and leverage the megathread.
I'm too technologically challenged to pull this off, but insert no.well.no.gif
I get it, but my rational is that new news deserves its own thread. A player that's been committed for months or years and then just signs, isn't really moving the needle. Doing that 20-something times over would just flood the site. Having a new portal or high school commitment is worthy of a new thread though. So would be a player that flipped on signing day.
I agree. A new commit/flip generates discussion on their skills, stats, and how they project to fit into the VT scheme. Super interesting. On signing day, noting that the player signed is simply met with, "well, yes, as expected." That's how I see the usefulness vs. not of individual threads.
I was actually just messing with you, Joe. It has been a busy/tough couple days, so just a light-hearted joke. I completely agree on the rationale about it flooding the site. You'll probably recall I was the one asking for a mega thread for the portal entrants for the same reason. Overall, I think we had a good class this year, and we did have a few surprises, for which it was nice to have a new thread. This Mose Phillips kid is a thumper, for example.
Anyway, thanks for all you do for this site. And Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year to you and all our TKP family.
To shorten what you stated, everyone should get their own commitment thread any a commitment thread. It's just some players commitment when they sign.
His cousin saved the word a few times
This one surprised me. I was sure he would decommit after Pop Watson signed
I think he might be better in the long run. Just doesn't have as much experience or high school tape available
This was my thought when he committed, but he didn't have a great season, got benched on national TV, and the staff recruited over him.
He got pulled in one game but finished out the season as the starter. The kid is an athlete at a school full of athletes. I want to see what he can do.
