The Ladies travel to Clemson tonight to play the Tigers at 6 PM. Hokies Sports says this is an RSN game; Watch ESPN says it's and ACCNx game. Maybe you can catch the game on your computer.
I stole the paragraph below from 07Hokie's Statistical Notes filing. I think that is a pretty good summary of what to expect tonight.
First up, the Hokies travel to Clemson. The Tigers are 9-4 with 3 losses in all 3 games against ranked opponents and they haven't been close. Kitley will be the tallest player on the court and should have her way with Clemson's most productive post player who is only 6-0. Only two players are scoring in double figures, but two more are within a point of that mark. Clemson has a bad ATO margin, but it looks very good when you factor in how active they are on the defensive end. They don't shoot particularly well from beyond the arc, nor are they strong from the charity stripe, except for leading scorer Robinson who is shooting 91%. However, take that number with a grain of salt; she's shot fewer FTA than Kitley has FTM and only a few more than Traylor has FTM.
Usual tables are below.

I would still like to see Kitley get a triple double sometime this year. Clemson certainly looks like a team she could dominate.
GO HOKIES!

LET'S GO
HOKIES!
She should of had one at High Point. They had nothing for her size, and she could have laid it in all game even off the triple teams, but was obviously practicing passing out when the double came. The threes were just not falling when she kicked out. Kayla missed like 4, and Amoore a few more, and Soule passed up multiple threes to take it to the glass. Even the layups off the high low passes were rimming out early.
I don't think Kitley gets the triple double.
I think we blow them out so badly, she sits for most of the 4th.
Coach Brooks seems to have someone keeping him informed when a player is close to a milestone. He set the whole defense up to get Amoore her 10th rebound for her triple double. I expect him to do everything he can to get a triple double for Kitley if it looks like she is on pace to get one.
Good start. 4-4 fg, 2-2 3pt. 10-2 lead 3 minutes in.
First 3 minutes were great. The next 7, not so much.
Lady Hokies trailing after the 1st qtr 16-26.
9 to 3 turnover differential. Hokies trail 38 to 26 at the half.
We are not getting it done. Losing the TO battle 9-3 and giving up 10 offensive rebounds. 40% shooting from the floor. 29% from beyond the arc.
clemson leading 26-6 points in the paint. Where's our defense?
Kitley playing soft six feet from the rim again. Only has 4 rebounds.
Traylor 0 for 7 from floor doesn't help.
Honestly they are lucky it's as close as it is. Clemson has an eleven shot differential
Would sure be nice to see another team have a 4th quarter collapse for once...
Kayla King heating up!
Two Clemson starters are playing with 4 fouls. Need to get a lot more aggressive and lock this down.
18 offensive rebounds for Clemson. Not great bob
Just played soft for 3 quarters. Can't do that in the ACC and expect to win
Oof. How many 4th quarter possessions ended with "Georgia Amoore missed 3 pointer?"
Kilter had, what, 2 points from field goals in the 4th? Ugly ugly ugly.
A well earned loss, played a sad lethargic game.. Kitley pretty much invisible all night.
A well earned loss, played a sad lethargic game.
Well said. Just sad.
When King has as many rebounds as Kitley it says everything. The 17 turnovers and 18 offensive rebounds allowed cemented it though. The shooting overall was bad for both teams so Clemson won on sheer quantity.
Clemson played tenacious defense. Constantly reaching in enough that the refs don't bother calling it. We need to learn how to press defense when down in the last couple minutes. It was agonizing watching us fall back to our normal defense as they blew 8 seconds off the clock continually advancing the ball.
1-2 in ACC play with a squad this talented isn't good.
This lack of in game adjustments and intensity is very worrisome. We have the talent, but I am not seeing where this team is doing what it takes to win big tournament games.
The intensity and want to win just seemed elsewhere outside of Amoore. My biggest issue is Kitley. She should be dominating inside four feet. But instead chooses to play a soft jumper game around six to eight feet which then means she isnt close enough for offensive rebounds. She also allows herself to be pushed around underneath on defense. The number of offensive rebounds and paint points for their opponents is ridiculous.
34 points allowed in paint, 16 points off turnovers, 18 second chance points.
Going to lose most games with those kind of numbers
