I was just reading through some of the recruiting rankings and it is amazing when reading about some of the teams with highly ranked classes, that have players that we almost got.
Can you imagine what our class would have been ranked if we pulled in Brady Taylor, Derrick Nnadi, Hand, Isaiah McKenzie and Javon Harrison. We were so close on all of these guys, they arent long shots at all.
All that this would have meant is that we got 2 of the top 8 guys in our own state, we kept 2 guys that actually did commit, and just pulled in one last minute surprise. Even without McKenzie, im sure were top ten, just by getting those 4.
We would have no doubt had a top 10 class in the country, I cant help but think if we found away to add these 3 or 4 guys every year how much of a higher level of success the program could reach.
On another note, I am really excited about Peoples and all of the kickers, great props to Frank for trying to fixing the kicking woes. We easily win 2 more games this year with a real kicked. And I kept help but think that People might be the next Rogers if he comes in and works hard to get his weight down a little, but I prefer a big back over a smaller one any day, Andrew Williams (The BC guy) was a similar level guy when he went to BC.

Bro, we just reeled in one of the best recruiting classes in the past decade. Recruits change their minds, kids leave the state, all that happens every year in every state and to every program. There will always be the ones that got away. But this class is the start of the future which will bring immediate improvement to the entire team. Talent is everywhere across this class. Let's be thankful for what we got.
It's like fishing in that way. There are always those few times that you can't help but wonder about.
I'm not gonna lie, I see posts like this as lamenting over a girl or O-Line coach who broke your heart. It might be nice to think about for a little bit, but really accomplishes nothing. Time to appreciate what we have, get ready for next year and go get the prom queen.

After two "down" seasons (cough, cough), I'd say this was a terrific class.
Where in the world would we have gotten 4 additional scholarships if those four committed to VT?
We wouldn't have needed additional scholarships due to the kids that count against last years numbers for coming in early.
Dr. Ballein would have made it work.
We will also have more attrition this year leading up to this coming Fall.
