Great day. Wife and I went to Bburg to visit my son. Took him and his girlfriend to Cellar for lunch and then watched the women close the home stand with a solid win. Large and vocal crowd for Senior day.
Do we know if anybody who were honored have plans to return next year?
Kitley is eligible, but honestly probably needs to move on. Being brutally honest, she hasn't improved this year to my eye test. Great shooter inside the arc, great rebounder, but doesn't play physical under the basket, her free throws actually seem worse percentage, and hasn't made an effort to shoot the three which would make her a HUGE threat.
I hope Soule can stick around. Kind of hope Owusu can as well, as her senior season was derailed completely with the broken finger.
Owusu was not recognized for Senior day. The players featured for Senior day were, Gregg, Soule, King, Traylor, Kitley, and Geiman. That's a lot of production to lose.
Geiman??? I thought she was a freshman or sophomore. Dang, her baby face got me.
Going to miss a bunch of those Ladies. They have been exciting to watch. I hope at least a couple can/will come back if they want.
Kitley is a projected 1st round pick in the WNBA draft later this year. She should go and get paid (even if it's not PAYED like the men).
She should "offseason" in Japan or China and really get paid
It will be interesting for Kitley, she could get paid, or she could decide she wants to finalize her move to med school. Last I heard, she wants to be a doctor.
She can make more as a doctor once the loans are paid off (though WVU will pay for your degree if you work in the state for like 5 years after, but then you have to live in WV)
Her feet well probably thank her too as most basketball players tear up their feet.
Not if she proves she can play next level. Ladies are making as much as $3M a season in China and the seasons there are much shorter than WNBA. Do that one year and she won't have to worry about student loans at all.
Last I had read, a few months ago, those opportunities have dried up as the player base is larger now that Russia isn't an option so the salaries aren't as good in China.
I recommend she pass up Russia and China.
