Brady with a big opportunity to make some noise as well. He was extremely close to beating most of the guys above him. Just needs to put together a complete 7 minutes.

Big second round matchups with Latona vs Orine, Andonian vs Scott, Smith vs Trumble, and Catka vs Trephan. Hokies are favored in two of those. Win three or four and the chances of a Championship look very good.

Sam Latona was screwed, IMO. In looking at the ACC seeding criteria, I do not understand how he did not end up as a 1. Having said that, I believe he will take down Orine and that helps VT team points so it may turn out to be beneficial in the end.

I totally agree with both points. I think it was some gamesmanship to give Pitt the #1 seed even though Latona is definitely the top wrestler between the three. It's a risk/reward second round. He gets a tough opponent and a losable match but can keep Orine out of the finals. Realistically I don't think Orine would beat no shot Phillippi again either.

Barring any upsets, and if my numbers aren't lying, if we see chalk, the Hokies fall by a point in tournament points to NC Stall.
Ventresca, Latona and Catka can wrestle above their seeds. Andy Smith is likely the one most likely to finish below his seed.
I would really love to see Bolen beat Hidlay to win the title.
