The Lady Hokies split the season games against Duke this season, with both team's winning on their home court. Now they face off on a quasi-neutral court with a shot at the ACC Championship game on the line. The Hokies blew out Miami while Duke hung on in a defensive slugfest against UNC.

The first time Duke and the Hokies met up — when then-No. 16 Duke took a 66-55 win against then-No. 12 Virginia Tech in Cameron Indoor Stadium — Kitley and Amoore combined for 11 points. In Blacksburg, they combined for 13 points after eight minutes of play. They combined for 40 total, with 20 apiece, by the end in a 61-45 victory.
This game will come down to Duke's ability to defend the paint. If they control the pace in the paint then this game will be close. If Kitley gets started early, then it opens up the perimeter and we saw last night what that looks like.
Duke deploys the full court press quite often which really slows the pace of the game, forcing long shot clocks. Duke allows the third fewest points in the country at 50.4 points per game. Duke also has the ACC Defensive Player of the Year in Celeste Taylor, who leads them on both ends of the floor.

Notre Dame was missing two of its top players for both games, this time it mattered. Olivia Myles was out who was the only other player in the conversation with Kitley for ACC POY. Dara Mabrey, former Hokie, tore an ACL so was also out.
Thats 24 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists off the floor.
take away those 10 assists and that is a minimum of 20 additional points gone.

Duke is the only team that worries me at this point.

I doubt this happens to anyone regularly. Kind of hard to anticipate a single board warping up. In this day and age of special floors and multi use arenas I imagine its more common than you think. Its just glaring here because of the schedule. Planning window between games was extremely tight in this one.
