Pecan Lodge in Deep Ellum for BBQ, and if you are looking to kill some time on Saturday the 6th Floor Museum is very interesting. I took my parents there when they came to visit me when I first moved here.
Lowest Greenville area is great to visit (this is where I live) but also Deep Ellum if looking to get out for the night. I will say that Deep Ellum can get a little dicey late night. Since its come back the last few years as an area for night life that has brought out a bit more crime.

Yes, the museum is in the book depository building. It's one of those walking/listening tours where they give you a headset and walk through, and it ends up right there where he took the shot (allegedly lol). Honestly, was not as far as I thought it would be when you stand up there. It is pretty cool to walk around down there after seeing so much of it on TV and movies.

Honestly, I'd prefer if they used the same fabric as the men's. They stitched to reinforce the edges of the men's and didn't for this one. And the men's fabric is more durable. Which is odd given the Final Four title is unquestionably a bigger accomplishment and deserved the more premium treatment

Spent four long years doing pep band back when we sucked, getting one lousy day in Greensboro at the end of the season (during which we were almost constantly heckled by every 8 year old in that godforsaken town), and now we're finally good, I have to pay for travel and tickets myself! /s

So the HT's pep band still play at the women's regular season games right? I was a bit shocked when I saw what looked like the civilian pep band at the tournament games.
As someone that was an MV and in the pep band, that's gotta suck for the HT's to support the women's team all this time and then miss out when the team has a deep run.

I think my favorite thing about the entire game was all the talk coming in about that vaunted full-court press being so tough.
Georgia shreds it for three consecutive possessions to start the game and get us easily scored free looks at the basket on the other end and you could just see their coach and bench deflated and go, "Well...shit," before shutting it down.
Obviously they tried to briefly bring it back when they thought Georgia was knocked out of the game (almost quite literally), and then had to switch plans yet again when she came back in and immediately started knocking down three's.

Man, what an effort by this team. Literally the idea that my school is in a final four sends shivers down my spine. So excited for this great group of ladies. Hoping that somehow someway they can win two more games; but, even if they don't, I'm so proud of what they've already accomplished.
LSU, Iowa, and SC are all great in their own unique ways, so it will be an extraordinary effort to pull this out, but if they do, I can die a happy man knowing that my school finally has a national title under their belt. I was surprised to see how much the top coaches make. SC coach makes 2.7mil, LSU 2.6mil. Lot of coaches over 7 figures. Brooks isn't in the top 25. He will likely get more than a bonus after this year.

LSU has a much larger base here in town already. That being said, I don't know how many of them care about the semifinal game of their ladies basketball team. I'm over the moon that the Hokies have made it and plan on buying tickets today or tomorrow. Part of that may be because we have never won a team national championship and part of that is because I hardly ever get to see the Hokies play in person in any sport.

This likely changes after next season as the NCAA contract for championships not including football with ESPN ends and most coaches and administrators are pushing to have Men's and Women's basketball separated from this agreement. Estimates are that the womens basketball deal could be as high as $80M a year. Given how high a profile the women's Tourney has generated this season I could see that number being higher.

Selfishly, I would love to have her return. We're loosing a few good pieces next year, but having her and Georgia back next year makes it hard not to think that they could have just as successful of a season next year. Also, another year of "Queens of the Cassell"

I am really hoping that Tech can put together a NIL package in combination with graduate med school that will be in excess of the ~$75,000 that she can probably make as a WNBA player. She wants to be a doctor being able to get a year of med school covered for free by Tech is a big long term savings.

Georgia shreds it for three consecutive possessions to start the game and get us easily scored free looks at the basket on the other end and you could just see their coach and bench deflated and go, "Well...shit," before shutting it down.
Obviously they tried to briefly bring it back when they thought Georgia was knocked out of the game (almost quite literally), and then had to switch plans yet again when she came back in and immediately started knocking down three's.

Amoore only missed one offensive possession but it was probably about 6 minutes in real time due to the injury timeout.

Man, what an effort by this team. Literally the idea that my school is in a final four sends shivers down my spine. So excited for this great group of ladies. Hoping that somehow someway they can win two more games; but, even if they don't, I'm so proud of what they've already accomplished.
LSU, Iowa, and SC are all great in their own unique ways, so it will be an extraordinary effort to pull this out, but if they do, I can die a happy man knowing that my school finally has a national title under their belt. Also sucks that the women's tourney doesn't hand out units like the men's. I learned that one this year.
I was surprised to see how much the top coaches make. SC coach makes 2.7mil, LSU 2.6mil. Lot of coaches over 7 figures. Brooks isn't in the top 25. He will likely get more than a bonus after this year.
It's closer to Tuscaloosa for LSU than Dallas is.

LSU has a much larger base here in town already. That being said, I don't know how many of them care about the semifinal game of their ladies basketball team. I'm over the moon that the Hokies have made it and plan on buying tickets today or tomorrow. Part of that may be because we have never won a team national championship and part of that is because I hardly ever get to see the Hokies play in person in any sport.
Do it. The Ladies are a blast to watch in person even if you only get a chance for the final four due to prices.

Every conference is allotted a unit or payout for each game a conference member plays in the tournament
This likely changes after next season as the NCAA contract for championships not including football with ESPN ends and most coaches and administrators are pushing to have Men's and Women's basketball separated from this agreement. Estimates are that the womens basketball deal could be as high as $80M a year. Given how high a profile the women's Tourney has generated this season I could see that number being higher.
It should be that way.

and each unit has a value that the NCAA pays that conference, value changes each year depending on revenue. Women don't get units, now sure how or if there's is a payoff for advancing in the tournament.

Selfishly, I would love to have her return. We're loosing a few good pieces next year, but having her and Georgia back next year makes it hard not to think that they could have just as successful of a season next year. Also, another year of "Queens of the Cassell"
On the otherhand, if she wants to go professional, she's going to be a pretty high pick. Go get that money.
I am really hoping that Tech can put together a NIL package in combination with graduate med school that will be in excess of the ~$75,000 that she can probably make as a WNBA player. She wants to be a doctor being able to get a year of med school covered for free by Tech is a big long term savings.
