LancerHokie and I have been to Grand Cayman 3 times now and thoroughly loved everything about the island. If that wasn't Thanksgiving weekend, man, I would be so tempted.

Whew boy, throwing us into the fire immediately, huh? Especially with UConn getting Paige 'Buckets' back. I dig it. I think we can successfully say the Ladies have 'made it' (as if they already hadn't) at this point when they're being immediately thought of as one of the top teams that's placed into the competition in a new prestige tournament such as this one.

Not as bad as renewing an expired global entry though. I submitted both last year. Passport came back relatively quickly. Coming up on 12 months for global entry.

Renewing unexpired global entry seems to be fast based on my wife's renewal. Unfortunately I didn't realize mine expired until a few months after and now it appears to be in an abyss.

Appreciate the insight, I reached out to them after 5 months and they said that they were extremely backed up for cases like mine which I interpret as being bucketed into expired global entry applicants. Makes no sense as to why I am so delayed. I have nothing in my past that should raise red flags.

Interesting. I renewed my son's passport recently and it came back relatively quick. Now, even though we were well within the advertised window, my wife went with the expedited fee and that passport came back in about 2 weeks. Take it for what it's worth (guess paying the fee makes a diff).

I think it's just luck of the draw. I have a few friends that paid the expedited fee 3 months ago and still doesn't have a passport for her trip next week 🤷♀️ Her passport expired in June, but it's up to the airline if they will let you board or not 6 months before expiration.

And the country you're entering whether or not they will allow you. Most countries require your passport to have at least 6 months of life left after your planned return. Your friends might need to call their senator and have them push for immediate passport approval. They might need to fly to a passport office somewhere in the US before their trip though.
My sister was able to find a last minute appointment in ATL before a trip so she flew down there for a night to get her passport the same week she was leaving to go to the Open.

Second this. Went in January and thought it was wonderful and great beaches for toddlers
We'll forgive you for missing the UVA game of you really want to go.
Nah, it's all of the family stuff around Thanksgiving that I don't think we can get out of.
That's big company and a nice early season test.

Do you need a passport for the Grand Caymans?
Yes. You absolutely have to have a passport to get into the country.
Be sure to allow yourself at least 6 months to get your passport back if you need a renewal because they are crazy behind on issuing them right now.

oof, good heads up, I'll need to check my expiration and plan ahead.

Wow I renewed my global entry in about 2 weeks. I didn't let it expire so maybe that's why.
same, my renewal was pretty quick and painless
I would try to reach out again about that. I've typically seen Global Entry take between a couple days and a 3-4 weeks for conditional approval.

Been out of the country about 16 times, but never with a passport. So I guess I will finally need to bite that bullet.
