This one stings a bit, another player from the '22 class, joining Moyston. Composite 4*, thought he was a very high ceiling player with a little S&C

From Baltimore too. Sucks to see a guy from our footprint leave, especially someone so young. Maybe VT just wasn't for him? Damn.

But like

Why

My guess (emphasis on guess) -- he flipped to VT under the last staff, needed to put on weight (6-0, 165 per hokiesports, same as his 247 listing), new staff brought in players who were more immediately able to contribute to Pry's/Marve's scheme. '23 class saw Cotman + Fleming come in at corner plus a few others listed as DB/S (Lovett, Woodson, Jennings, Phillips). Plus Derrick Canteen as a transfer.

This one is really really disappointing

Outside it's night time, but inside it's LeDay

I'm a little surprised by all three of these departures, but someone had to leave. We're at a place where none of this stuff really has a major impact on me. The rebuild is the rebuild.

I would've thought he was still ahead of Alves and Cotman? Maybe Cotman passed him while he was injured? Maybe personal reasons? Otherwise it's a headscratcher to me

Or. We got someone from the portal that's a DB and a tough decision had to be made

I hate rude behavior in a man. Won't tolerate it.

one click shows Wagoneer's been around TKP for 7 years. Sheesh. Everyone take a nap, have a snickers or something.

I mean there's a certain DB in the portal that went to a high school in Virginia that we have been pulling some recruits from lately

Aaaand he's gone

?? There's definitely a DB in the portal still who fits that category....

Who? Malcolm Greene is going to UVA

Are you 800% sure about that?

/kidding.

There's no glory in practice and lifting but without practice and lifting, there will be no glory!

Sucks to see some guys leave, but I know we have a lot of DBs coming in from our last class. We need some attrition to bring in players that address needs for the upcoming season. I'd gladly swap out Johnson for some more depth at OL and DE. We need to get better this year.

I'm guessing there are other suitors who want him for his Athleticism and Cornerback abilities. Yes he is definitely undersized and he would have been at best the #4 guy next season. Don't be surprised if he ends up at Maryland who lost Cornerbacks to the draft and don't have a lot next season.
I wish he could have stayed but I see guys like Dontae Lovette filling in fairly quickly

Hokies, Local Soccer, AFC Ajax, Ravens

Don't be surprised if he ends up at Maryland

Smh the Mike Jones loss strikes again

For what it is worth, another spring game review is coming focused on QBs. Wells got a lot of his big plays working on Johnson, who had a pretty rancid performance.

Pair that with the TD Holloway got against Elijah Howard who looked badly beat and these might have been a couple of those tough convos Pry alluded to needing to be had

Eh, Holloway's TD from Watson was more of a Fuente-style set up and pants the corner by giving him a run key. Many better corners than Howard have bitten on a fake option stalk and go, particularly when you have done the run version of the play over and over in the same quarter.

I think Pop said that Tucker wasn't the go to guy on that play. He said the designed target wasn't open so he just made a decision to toss it up to Holloway. Valid point though, no one play is a measure of a player

I thought he looked afraid to tackle or support the run defense, which I guess may be what happens when one is 20 to 40 lbs lighter than the ball carrier.
