Lady Hokies picked up a Commonwealth Point by beating UVA

A show of Hokie support to UVA was appreciated by their coach after the shooting at UVA.

Kelsey Bennett became Tech's All Time Leader in RBIs.

Hokies take on #5 Tennessee at home tomorrow night so get out and support them if you are around.

Looks like we are up 8 - 7.5 with 6 points still up for grabs.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

yeah, I don't think the count is correct. We should be up 9-7. We won the series in baseball (2-1) and the site has 1/2 a point for LOLUVa on for baseball. They really done a crap job since smithfield took over. The old site would update almost immediately, had scoring explanations, historical standings, and every scored event would have a link to a recap.

EDIT: Current standing is LOLUVa leads 9-8. 4 points remaining

doesn't look good for our heroes. LOLUVa beat our girls in lacrosse yesterday, 15-10. This puts them up 10-8 with three events remaining. I admit I haven't followed college golf, well, ever, but it seems like something a bunch of preppy douches with crossed sabres on their hats would be good at. Unfortunately, even if we win both outdoor track championships, but still drop golf, we lose the clash 11-10*

*the point for football was never awarded for this season due to the shooting of the football players in Charlottesville.

As foretold, LOLUVa got the point for men's golf (3rd place finish against our 12th place finish, ouch). Still two points available for track, but the fat lady has sung.

Here are the remaining points:

One point for placement at the ACC Women's Golf Championships from April 13th-16th in Greensboro
One point for the women's lacrosse game on April 20th in Charlottesville
One point for placement at the ACC Men's Golf Championships from April 21st-24th in Pinehurst
Two points for the men's and women's placements at the ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships from May 11th-13th in Raleigh

I assume we get 2 points for the Outdoor track and field. Can we get one more?

Our women's lacrosse team has been winning big recently, at least from what I see on facebook. And I feel like our women's golf team is pretty good too?

Weren't we way down in this just a few months ago? Maybe I am misremembering, but I thought we were down by a lot at one point, which would mean we have been on a good charge the past few months.

Ladies have to have hot bats and catch FSU on a bad day. FSU swept the Hokies in a three game set earlier in the season. Also note the gametime change moved up to 11am due to forecasted storms at Notre Dame.

Looks like they have been rotating in the last 5-7 years although I couldnt find a decision matrix published. Going back before that it seems it was at Florida State on a quasi regular basis.
