Great news. If you need to steal some help, get it grom the best. Uga
In this case GA stands for Grad Assistant
If only.
Sorry, I should have been more clear in my post. What I listed above are their current roles at VT. GA = Graduate Assistant.
My laptop was running out of juice and I whipped this post up without much editing.
My bad. Should have deduced that with the U missing
Nice post. Commitment = Being down to < 5% battery power.
My laptop is such a POS. It has one hour max when unplugged.
I hit the post button and it died as the page was reloading. It was exhilarating and lame as shit at the same time.
One of our longest issues is that we've always had a relatively small staff.
That is no longer the case under Pry.
Holy throwback Batman!
I love that movie!
Snoogins!
I'm interested in hearing about the Sports Science role. Not sure how many other schools have this type of role but seems pretty cool!
I believe this is our second person to hold this role - we had someone in this position last year, guessing they moved on and this is a replacement. Think it's paywalled but TSL did a pretty long article on the role and it's goal at some point last year after the initial hire was made
I gather that it's at least somewhat common at the P5 level. Every SEC school has it, Oregon does, and most major programs do.
Chip Kelly started a lot of the sports sciences stuff at Oregon way before other schools were doing it at the college level. It's a place where I've always thought VT should be investing in as it's a way to compete at a higher level on the field and recruiting. Now it's just becoming a way to compete.
More support staff. What we like to see.
I'm curious, is there a limit on the number of grad assistants you can have on staff?
I dont think there is a limit, but there are now rules that you can only be a GA for 3 years and you only have a 7 year window from the date one recieves their first bachelor's degree.
These are newer rules as in the past teams did not follow these rules.
