ACC kickoff 2023

I know we rarely learn anything new from this annual event but figured this would be a good place to post content from the ACC kickoff.

At the very least there tend to be good interviews.

Hokies are on the stage at 12:45pm

totally forgot Andy was with TSL until seeing this tweet

Onward and upward

by the way, when I inevitably win the lotto jackpot I will funnel enough money to Joe to hire whoever he pleases (whether thats Andy Bitter or someone else is up to him) full-time (in addition to covering all other expenses)

Onward and upward

Presumably a preview of Pry's talking points during VT's time at the podium later.

Edit: I guess I'm calling Pry the "Midnight Rider" from now on.

"We were a 100-level team last year. We're still going to be a 100-level team this year"

Buckle up fam, it's going to be another tough season.

Seems like he is for sure trying to temper expectation.

Hopefully in his head this is an under promise over deliver type statement.

I think it's an underpromise-and-hope-to-overdeliver type statement.

The more I'm hearing/reading, the more I think 5 wins is a likely outcome, +/- 1 win depending on luck.

I definitely think 5/6 wins is the expectation for me. Five wins to me would be the absolute lowest acceptable win total, simply because we've seen the moves they've made to overhaul the roster and get the talent level up at various spots. Four wins would be very hard to spin into a success and continue the narrative, especially considering our schedule. I see four games we in all likelihood should win, four we most likely lose, and the other four as toss ups. My hope is we go .500 on the toss ups. But always possibility we drop one we shouldn't, win one we shouldn't, etc. Six wins and a bowl berth to me would be a great positive step, but five I also see as a realistic possibility. Below that and I think we have some issues with keeping momentum and the narrative we have laid out.

Didn't like hearing that. Hopefully we're truly a 100-level team this year. At times last year I questioned whether we were GED level.

Ali coming out with jokes.

his album Songs In The Key Of Life is one of the best ever, literally banger after banger

The analog production on that album is arguably the best ever recorded. People have been chasing it since.

Pastime Paradise is my personal favorite from that record.

Who's ready for more midnight rider?

I can listen to Coach Pry talk about VT all day. Great ambassador to the program and I'm rooting very hard for him to succeed here at Tech. Thanks for posting!

Royal's reaction at the end there where he is clearly pumped by Pry's answer was fantastic

I do art stuff.

Looks like our O-line has already taken a hit.

Better to know now and have the ones practicing together than expect him to be ready.

Never Forget #1 Overall Seed UVA 54, #64 UMBC 74

Oh, absolutely. But our already miniscule depth at OL just got thinner.

That is going to be a weakness all season. That group is inexperienced, and has a new coach. Best case scenario we can run the ball a bit, so teams can't murder these guys with the pass rush on obvious downs.

Pry to that reporter with the unfortunate haircut:

Apparently this got UVa's coaches and fans all up in their feelings after it was said. All I have to say about that is...

When they get back to winning the Commonwealth cup 3 times in two decades, maybe then they can let a thought about being the flagship football school in the state cross through their RosΓ© soaked minds.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

I completely understand why they brought Ali to the kick off. Impressive young man, and I will absolutely be rooting for him this fall.
