Did not see a current thread and wanted to ask for advice. I have not been to a game in many years; but I am thinking about going to the Pitt game this year.
First question: Is anyone going to have two tickets available?
Second question: Where is the best place to stay? VT is about a seven hour drive, so I may need two nights depending on game time.
Third question: If I buy tickets, where is the best section? I don't mind loud; but I don't want to have beer spilled on me and I don't want to be among a group of rowdy, obnoxious fans.
Thanks, in advance.
Edit to add: If you have tickets, you can contact me at my user name at hotmail.com.

For the last part, I'd get seats just as far away from north as you can if you are in the east stands - otherwise your probably gonna be okay (student behavior post Covid has been uhhhh not stellar).
Looking at the VT website and it looks like the choices are 9R Row QQQ seats 24 & 26 or 8L Row SSS seats 7 & 9. Or I could go into 11L for $15 per seat more. Any recommendations? Or should I wait a while and see if anyone has a change of plans and wants to sell.
Just remember that Lane splits the seats weird within the section versus the tunnels so even numbers are together (even R and odd L). So seats 24 & 26 are going to be in the middle of the block/row not on an end or aisle. Seats 7 & 9 would be closer to the aisle.

Are you wanting to stay close by in town or away from the crowds? I'm also about 7 hours way from Blacksburg and prefer to stay away from town. Stay out by Troutville/Daleville area. Never had a problem getting a hotel room at a regular price that far away. If you take the back way into Blacksburg up Catawba Road and Harding, traffic is pretty much nil. Plus, it is 30-40 minutes or so closer to home for me when I do make the trip back.
Of course, if you want to stay close to the school or stadium, ignore everything I wrote.
I live near Pittsburgh; so I will be coming in from WVa. I would not mind being outside of the crowds, I will look for options that are on my travel route. Thanks for the suggestion. Do you have any trouble parking?
I did not have any trouble parking. But we parked well up on Lee or Clay Streets. Don't remember exactly where. Was over a mile walk, but we were fine with it. Not sure what it would be like trying to park close by as we guessed it might be hard - and that it would be more of a pain to get out at the end - so we did not even try to get in close.
I come down from NJ/Philly area, so down I95 and eventually to I81. Coming from Pittsburgh, you'll be from the northwest, so Daleville/Troutville will actually be farther for you, won't it?
So 79 to 19 to 77 to 460 route then ... I would look at Princeton, WV for hotels, about an hour out. But no one will be driving that way away from bburg after the game and they have some newer hotels.
The other option that is a bit closer would be Lilly Valley Inn near Pearisburg. My parents stay there every year for my dad's high school anniversary (yes its every year, all classes above 50 are invited and for a while they would go on two week long trips afterwards).
It's has great views and my parent swear by it.
Lilly Valley looks great; but they only have one room available that week end. And $400 per night is a little more than I wanted to pay. I'll look at Princeton.
To be fair my parents don't go to stay on football weekends so not sure what the rate increase is.
I'm hoping in a few years when my girls are a tad older, I can convince my wife to host traveling VT fans for games since we will have a pretty sizeable basement they can crash in. Unfortunately no bathroom down there, so not sure if that ends up being a deal breaker for folks.
In need of a parking pass for ODU. Taking family down for first time and not sure how to get a pass for a single game.
I'm looking for a parking pass for Purdue. Would prefer lot 18, but I'm not going to be too choosey. Thanks APFOW. See y'all for boozy brunch 9/9.
Gotcha.
