Apparently there's a new VT plate at the Virginia DMV. I just saw one for the first time today.
I have no idea how long these have been available, but I was able to find this link at vt.edu which shows the VT plates available, and this one was on there, but there's no date on the site.
Anyways, this was enough for me to pull the trigger on a new plate, something I've been considering for a while now.

Agreed, I got these last year before noticing that. Still think they're a beauty though.
Just more incompetence from the admin at Tech. We should have one logo, the one millions know and have seen on TV during a sporting event.
I would've swapped my plates to these when I got my new car if it didn't have the bad logo on them

Just put a sticker/decal of the athletic logo over it. I hardly think anyone important would notice or complain
GA doesn't offer VT plates and it pisses me off so much
I remember when I lived in ATL in the early 2000's there was a big deal made about the fact that GA allowed out of state schools to have state license plates that popped up with UF got enough signatures or vouchers sold to get a Gator license plate in GA.
This apparently pissed off some folks in the legislature as they actually crafted a bill to try and prevent it from happening.

Delaware alumni plates are still on their ugly color scheme, but vanity plates are cheaper than reg plates in MD. So HOKIENG it is.
They've been out for 2 years. I got them when I bought my Wrangler in Aug21. Went ahead and changed the HOKEEZE plate on my other car to them as well.
Biggest bonus, they're the only VT plates that have 7 letters.

It took 3 years and probably a dozen attempts to get through the DMV review process.

I live out of state but ordered this Souvenir Plate with Mountains and "HOKIES" online this last weekend. Because New Mexico doesn't have a front plate I might try to get away with putting it on my car regardless of the "rules"

I'm never got a personalized plate but my two favorites I've seen in the wild were a UVA plate personalized "SUX" with a Hokies license plate frame, and a VT plate "RON MEX".
Someday, I'm waiting to see one saying D2 DASH.
