Pry-ssr Fall Camp: Bonus Week

I think most of us have heard the big stories from this conference. Wells is the starter, Drones will still play every game, and Gallo is currently out with an injury of uncertain severity. More discussion on the QB1 story here and Gallo there. I'm not going to comment on those tidbits since they each have their own posts. 9 MFing days y'all.

Reminder to make sure you put your pick 6 picks in if y'all are playing along this year.

  • In reference to revamped skill positions Pry says we're better off this year, but not where we want to be. Overall, feels like we have more guys with wiggle that can give us a chance.
  • Feels that the defense has more team speed and reaction to the ball this year. Thinks the team is faster and more physical on both sides of the ball based on Saturday's scrimmage.
  • Jennings has great ball skills and has been coming down with the ball consistently recently.
  • Chaplain has improved his technique over the Summer and put the work in to earn the starting spot.
  • Bob Schick has improved a lot, but needs to keep getting better.
  • Nelson and Burgos in a heck of a battle. We'll see a lot of both of them.

"people are going to have to prepare for Kyron" as his response to the 2 QB question seems to be a different thing than the "Drones will play every game" i've seen a lot of places. Until I'm proven otherwise, I wouldnt be shocked to see Wells play the entire ODU game if it goes well and we are winning.

I'll believe we actually plan to play both once I actually see this, it felt like a huge hedge by Pry in this presser to mostly give ODU something else to think about.

I'm on the fence on whether this is coach speak to make it "harder" for opponents to prepare or if, as others have suggested, the staff is giving Drones every possible opportunity to learn the playbook and win the job.

That's right, forgot where I'd seen it. Still seems like he tempered that a bit later in the open media interview, but I guess we will find out in a little over a week!
