Now I wanna see Michigan vs Fitchburg state just to see if Michigan can in fact win by 156
I don't think they would win by 156. Why? Because by the time they got up by, say 120, they'd put in the managers and water boys/girls. They would be told not to score so the team wouldn't be accused of running up the score!
I think they could do it. Just average one touchdown (and a successful PAT) every 2 1/2 minutes of game time. Most of those points would have to come via defense and ST
Nah, new clock rules. They could probably get to 156 commercials though
Commercials or commercial breaks, cause I'm 90% sure you mean the later
For those of you who can't read the fine print, Virginia Tech is at #71, just behind Toledo at #70, and just ahead of North Dakota State at #72 and Georgia Tech at #73.
teams on our schedule:
Ol' Dominion: 110
Purdue: 78
Rutgers: 53
Marshall: 80
Pittsburgh: 45
Florida State: 11
Wake Forest: 65

Syracuse: 51
Louisville: 30
NC State: 55
Boston: 97
Virginia: 88
So you're saying we're going 6-6 with a bowl
To quote Frank Beamer- both Syracuse and FSU's numbers here are "outta whack"
Pitt was the one that jumped out to me.
Must be recency bias for the Loserville upset.
quite the opposite actually. I think his algorithm does not weight recent data heavily enough.
His rankings are also heavily based on how the game was played, with yardage gained as a strong indicator of success. LU outgained Pitt by 200 yards, so Pitt would not have been improving much upon that win due to the lopsided yards gained.
Pitt is still ranked high due to 2022 success, but by the end of they year, they'll fall behind VT if the current trajectories stay constant.
Based on? And what do you think would be appropriate for those two teams?
I'm not suggesting that the rankings are indeed correct, but it seems to me that you're suggesting both are too high. Syracuse seems right, FSU seems a little low atm, but they struggled in some of their away games this year.
Massey Composite (avg of 90 ranking services) is similar, except
21 Looneyville
47 Rotgut
65 The Pitts
66 Choo-choo Puffs

Hokies 55 94 36 47% 24

Cumberland remains unchallenged.
...PAAAWWWWWWWLL!!!!!
Most interesting tidbit from that beatdown game _ zero first downs by either team! (And that GT- true to their roots-had zero passes attempted!)
See these links for other interesting factoids from that game.

Nice my other alma mater checkin in at a solid #534
Gotta hand it to the schools that are punching up two weight classes
Interesting that LOLUVA is ranked so far ahead of BC.
Virginia's advantage is that all of their losses have been the result of self Inflicted wounds, whereas Boston College has just been playing Bad.
And here I was thinking "creating self-inflected wounds" means that you're playing badly.
Only 2 FCS teams ranked above us! FAM!
And neither of them is in-state!
*yes, I realize it's because JMU & Fiberty moved to FBS
