I figure facing Armstrong again is a good thing.

on the flip side, think about how disrespectful that is to the rest of the teams on NCStates schedule, including us?
Hopefully we hand back some disrespect by going for the endzone with our backups late in the game
Ehh NC State is having a bit of a lost season and offensively they've been a bit of a mess. I think this call is really just to give him another year on the back end of his college career, its not like he's going to the draft early. I don't think this is anything disrespectful, just doing what NC State needs to do in hopes of maximizing future results after they've already reached basically accomplished what they can this year.
Sounds like the decision was made by Morris, not by his coaches. He gone.
Interesting...I think Armstrong is probably a better matchup for us overall, but its marginal. Morris was 3-1 but its not like he was playing particularly well. His QBR was in 25-40 Range for 3 of the 4 games.
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised to see his name in the Portal in the Offseason.
More important to us having a chance in that game is going to be the NCSU D vs. VT OL matchup. Their front 7 has similar appearance to Louisville and if the OL performs like they did last week, the Pack could probably have literally anyone at QB and still win.
NCSU is not an above average football team at all. They are 100% meh. But we are meh to bad. A loss to them would surprise nobody unfortunately.
and a win over them? Also not surprising?
Welcome to VT football, yes we could actually execute on offense at home for a stretch against a medicore NCSU, whose starting QB just told them, "Im good yall" - yes VT could win that game or Armstrong could look like a heisman guy and we could get run out of Lane. That's where we are right now.
Or we could win the game because some one thought passing to a LT is a good idea.
More than that, it was a screen!
He's def transferring. All NC State boards have a common message that he and his parents were upset when Brennan transferred in, then the plan was for him to redshirt. When he did play the play-calling was awful. Seems like a lot went into this. Wouldn't expect to see him back next year.
weird
I thought he looked good last season, and I was also surprised when they brought in Armstrong... so I can't say I'm shocked his parents didn't like it.
This was my first thought when I read the news
We fans must be gluttons for punishment. This game is now sold out.
Honestly, the way our fans have continued to show up despite last year's record and the way this season started is awesome.
What else are you going to do in Blacksburg when you've been tailgating all day and need to sober up a smidge?
All the while UNC students and fans get publicly called out for a pathetic turnout in a home game against a self-proclaimed rival as a Top 10 team.
Interesting that the email from hokiesports about the raffle for the signed women's hoops poster and tickets says
We should target Morris for the 2027 season after Drones is done.
Unless he suffers a major injury, Drones is done after the 2025 season -- but only because he wasn't enrolled for the 2020 season. and if he HAD been enrolled during the 2020 covid season, he would never ever ever run out of eligibility evidently so the point would be moot anyway
