They had a pick six and a fluke TD. So their offenses really was a TD better and there defense was a Fg better, when UofL had a short week. They did play them better but also the score isn't quite representative of them.

Until loluva beats us in consecutive years and demonstratively looks like a better program.
Let's all remember, they were barely able to beat us one time in the last 18 years! Hell, the year before that win, we stole their hearts in Lane with arguably the WORST VT team.

Yeah I have to believe there a a bit of 1 hangover (they actually cared about us) 2 Thursday nights can be weird and 3 I'm convinced uva is "talented" but will eventually falter under pressure.
And as much as the commentators wanted to anoint colandrea the next Johnny manziel, he's also directly cost them a win against fcs competition and really isn't that good.

New regimes only kryptonite right now is that little number in front of the team name. Otherwise (after drones got comfy) it's no contest. We've been bullied by top 10 teams. Whether they are really that good they have the dudes that are hard to compete against

Whole game felt like L'ville was in control but just couldn't seem to get into the end zone.
Then the pick six and the fluke fumble td and they are up. Felt like L'ville tried to pass more in that game than run even though the runs were doing pretty good. In the end it was the running game that won it for them.

Elliot shared the team received encouraging news of his progress during his post game presser. Outlets are reporting he has regained motion in his extremities. I haven't seen anything new since late last night.

That play with the sccop and score was dangerous the whole way.
The runner dropped his head to lead with his helmet and the defender dropped his and should have been called for a hitting with the crown of his helmet and ejected.
It caused the kind of injury that penalty is designed to prevent.

Per ESPN, he was able to walk. Hopefully he will make a full recovery.
"Virginia running back Perris Jones underwent spinal surgery at the University of Louisville Medical Center on Friday, one day after he was hurt in the Cavaliers' 31-24 loss to Louisville.
In a statement posted to X, the school said the surgery was successful and that Jones was able to briefly walk Saturday morning."

Franklin is a bigger thorn in our side. Eats up VHSL talent just to crap the bed against any decent B1G squad.
Franklin is not a good Offensive Coach...he hit the Lottery with Saquon Barkley and has been riding that ever since.
Knocking him down a peg and kicking his ass outta VA is much more pertinent to VT success going forward than watching the Raiders future coach nosedive.

Not that low. But apparently the lowest in history.
Saturday's 28-point over/under for Rutgers at Iowa is lowest in college football history
The lowest totals:
28 Iowa vs. Rutgers, '23
30½ Iowa vs. Northwestern, '23
30½ Iowa vs. Minnesota, '23
31½ Air Force vs. Army, '23
31½ Iowa vs. Minnesota, '22
31½ Iowa vs. Kentucky, '22
And Iowa has 5 of the bottom 6.

Nardouche is absolutely melting down right now and I am loving all of it. Pitt was going to go for it on 4th, timeout called, penalty, then going to go for FG, penalty, then burns a second timeout to punt....punt hits at 5 but all the coverage guys went 5 yards into end zone, touchback. The series of explosions from Nardouche was just awesome.

If this is not ruled a safety in the FSU-UM game then we know its all a joke.
EDIT: ACC officials down at Doak clearly getting the "Worst Call of the Year" award. Fix is in down there folks, and the ACC isn't even trying to hide it.

Oh my God. Washington gets what should be a pick 6 and the guy drops the ball at something like the 2 yard line. Not even close to crossing the goal line and jus drops it like he is in the end zone. Utah then recovers it.

Dang the Miami freshman QB has played a hell of a game today but just got his arm severely broken diving for a first down on a fourth down play. He got it but that is way broken

You will not convince me that was an incomplete pass for UF. (4:19 left in the 3rd). I wanted to say no live, but during replay I completely changed my mind. Then the refs said nope (much like that targeting in our game...)

Duke got robbed by the refs last night. No review on the INT that went to UNC. Random fake penalties to keep things alive for UNC and overlooking a linemen 5 yards deep in the end zone on a pass play (2pt conversion).

No matter how much they got robbed (which they did), I have seen no worse call in my life than Jordan Travis getting tackled in the end zone and the refs saying it was down at the 1.

Regardless of the outcome, UNC should be one of the easiest teams to recruit against and I hope we're able to take advantage of it. It's astounding how little they've done with more since Mack came back. I get the Jordan brand is strong but what have they done of any significance outside of recruiting?

At least UVA on the road is Lane North
Won't be surprised if we lose to them....theyve played better against tougher competition than we have this year. Damn, that sucks to write...
They had a pick six and a fluke TD. So their offenses really was a TD better and there defense was a Fg better, when UofL had a short week. They did play them better but also the score isn't quite representative of them.

Pitt beat Loserville. The transitive property doesn't work for college football.
Yeah I have to believe there a a bit of 1 hangover (they actually cared about us) 2 Thursday nights can be weird and 3 I'm convinced uva is "talented" but will eventually falter under pressure.

Uva had one good quarter where they won the period 21-0. For the rest of the game they got clobbered 31-3. I'm not really that worried about uva
Colandrea will lose them as many games as he keeps them in. We just have to get him rattled early and let them fall apart.
Luckily for us we have been able to get pressure against most teams, particularly ones with suspect lines.
And, as you mentioned it's our 7th home game.

Anybody seen anything in regard to Perris Jones, the UVA RB who was stretchered off? Looked to be very serious. Just hoping he's okay.

Cavalier in the background is *chef's kiss*
Best part about the other games this week is that at least one of Penn State and Michigan have to lose.
Unfortunately, Michigan getting the win. But at least Penn State is going to be fully eliminated from playoff contention.
I would rather UofM lose every game from here to eternity.

Harbaugh is scum but he's not long for CFB.

Exactly. Getting Penn State out of VA recruiting is the correct answer. Three reasons I hate Penn State:
Iowa & Rutgers off to a scintillating start, 0-0 at the end of the first Qtr.
I mean what's the over under for that game? 10?
Not that low. But apparently the lowest in history.

Definitely a common thread
Looks like 10 may be generous.
I have pounded the under in every Iowa game this year and it has made me some decent money
Nardouche is absolutely melting down right now and I am loving all of it. Couldn't happen to a better coach
If this is not ruled a safety in the FSU-UM game then we know its all a joke.
EDIT: ACC officials down at Doak clearly getting the "Worst Call of the Year" award. Fix is in down there folks, and the ACC isn't even trying to hide it.
Defense is just non-existent in Washington-Utah. Feels like I'm watching USC vs. USC.
What is going on with Ok state? They want to give UCF their first Big 12 win?
Class A ass whoopin....turnovers played a role.
Dude UoM is so try hard I'm getting bored. This soap opera is worthless
Is Syracuse using a tight end at qb? Are they intentionally copying us or what?
Been forced into due to injury but it's working so guess don't knock it.
Scored 28 points with only 8 pass attempts between 3 guys.
No judgement, it obviously worked for us to an extent. Not mad at all. Just like no. 89 lining up under center solid nonsense. Go football
Oh my God. Washington gets what should be a pick 6 and the guy drops the ball at something like the 2 yard line. Not even close to crossing the goal line and jus drops it like he is in the end zone. Utah then recovers it.
And Washington gets a safety on the next play. Go Huskies!

Go Dawgs!!
The look on his face was priceless.
NW man handling Wisconsin? this is a very odd saturday
Think thats odd take a look at OkSt vs UCF
Dang the Miami freshman QB has played a hell of a game today but just got his arm severely broken diving for a first down on a fourth down play. He got it but that is way broken
That sucks. No matter who they are playing for, you hate to see that.
That Miami FSU game was pretty epic. Washington Utah was pretty good too.
College Gameday gonna be in Harrisonburg next week for the JMU - App St game.
What is with Clemson rushing the field 2 games in a row over meh teams? How far they've fallen.
They actually rush the field after losses, too. Been doing it a while. They join the team at the paw to lock arms and sing the alma mater.
Seems cringey, especially once they started getting good at football. But it's kinda their thing.
You will not convince me that was an incomplete pass for UF. (4:19 left in the 3rd). I wanted to say no live, but during replay I completely changed my mind. Then the refs said nope (much like that targeting in our game...)
Elko takin a page out of prys book
I can't believe I switched my pick to unc this morning
Wow Duke
Refs gifted an interception back to UNC; they score soon after and go up 5 with 2 minutes left.
Duke gets to 4th and 7 with less than a minute; get the touchdown.
This game is going down to the wire
Duke got robbed by the refs last night. No review on the INT that went to UNC. Random fake penalties to keep things alive for UNC and overlooking a linemen 5 yards deep in the end zone on a pass play (2pt conversion).
Yeah the 2 pt conversion had all kinds of wrong
No matter how much they got robbed (which they did), I have seen no worse call in my life than Jordan Travis getting tackled in the end zone and the refs saying it was down at the 1.

Welp prevent may have cost them the upset guess we will see in OT
Officials going to end this one it looks like
Likely doesn't impact the field goal in hindsight but that was a horrendous holding call.
Tough end for Duke there
The fix was in from the 4th quarter on.
Refs gave the game to Carolina
Same as it ever was.
The last team to beat UGA and still have an active winning streak against them is Boston College (2001 music city bowl was their last game against UGA)
