They're doing it at pretty much the exact same time on the play clock every time. And the refs are holding us up when they're doing it. We are going to end up with a delay of game or having to use a timeout at some point because of it. It's kind of bs that the refs are holding us up and playing into the strategy.
With Drones and Tuten running well, would love to see us try the old Tebow jump pass in our arsenal.
It will definitely be there later in this game. Hope it is Bowen's bag of tricks.

Why is Wells in and not Watson?
Watson got moved to third string this week, so he wasn't part of the game plan. Assume they've shut him down for the year. Giving Wells a chance to play again. I'm assuming he transfers and wants some film to help out.

I'll continue to believe it's a poor decision to play Wells here instead of letting Watson get some live snaps.
Agreed. I don't know why we're playing guys who aren't going to see the field next year.
Still think the staff is trying to play it off like Wells was seriously injured and they just played the hot hand with Drones who ran with it, instead of him just being quietly benched.

He was injured. Problem is Drones developed FAST!
He definitely was injured early on, but I personally think the true extent of it was a bit exaggerated. He probably could have come back earlier but I think they liked the potential they saw with Drones and decided to roll with him. And agree he really seized the job.
I understand why the staff probably went with Wells to start the year (more experience and experience in this offense, throwing is his strength and lots of playmakers at WR, really accurate in practice due to comfort with system and QBs not live, etc). But I think if they had the current iteration of the offense in place for the spring and they went with Drones to start, we probably have at least two more wins on the year.
He was definitely injured and much worse than we were told. It was one of those broken bones or not. Only way to tell was to xray every two weeks and see if there is scar build up. If they saw it, it's a break. If not, ligament damage...which is slower recovery. As I understand he could have played of emergency, it would have been very limited (little to no runs). Staff got lucky that Drones played so well, because if they bright Wells back he would have been a shell of himself.

He was definitely out of it. As evidenced by that next play. He literally had no idea what the actual call was. Even the defense was surprised by him just standing there and didn't know what to do. The back judge came up to him after he was slow off the ground the prior play and even though he gave him a thumbs up...he should have been pulled. Made a great run there at the end but that was purely muscle memory I think.
