Andy, what's the protocol on transfers committing? Brewer says he is going now but must graduate in May. Does that mean he "technically" is still open to considering other schools until then? Do transfers need to submit official paperwork to the program or just enroll in the new school?
Since it hardly ever happens at VT it rarely was something I paid attention to.

Brewer, a 6-foot-1, 185-pounder from Austin, Texas, said he narrowed his choices down to Virginia Tech and Kentucky after having his transfer restricted to exclude Big 12 schools at the top of his list like Texas and TCU.
I find it interesting how often VT has gone up against Kentucky for recruits lately. I know their new coaches have been praised for drastically improving recruiting, but it's good to see us come out ahead in several of those battles given our superior accomplishments on the field (though I think the other notable battle was for Brady Taylor, and we all know how that unfortunately ended).

[Chad Morris] even thought [Virginia Tech] was a no-brainer, that this was a great situation and an opportunity that you just couldnt ask for much more, Brewer said.
Ringing endorsement from Chad Morris. That's pretty good praise from one of the hottest OC in the game right now.

Really? Do you remember where this was said and in what context? He's a Texas guy and went to Texas A & M. I don't see how VT could be his "dream job."

I didn't find it with a quick search, but it came out this past year. The only thing I remember about the context was that there really wasn't any... he just kind of volunteered the comment. He just really likes VT.

Timely as always. And by timely, i don't mean in newspaper years but in internet years. You are a saint Bitter and I've clicked the link the number of times in direct correlation to my appreciation!
Perhaps this gives some breathing room for our excellent class of true freshman, perhaps not. Either way the coaches have some choices to make that are approaching a difficult but embarrassment of riches problem. As a manager of people myself, the hardest part is keeping everyone engaged, but this is the problem you want to have.

Not sure exactly. Will have to check that out. I know Jacob Coker's transfer was finalized at Alabama rather quickly.
So now that Brewer's in the picture, what are the chances that Durkin and Ford both redshirt this year?
Somewhere between 0 and 100%.
Yeah, I think I may have to agree with you.
I will take responsibility for your 1,000 turkey leg. Respect, sir.
Well done!

Exposure. Kentucky plays Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Missouri, and Tennessee every year.

Morris himself loves Virginia Tech. He was quoted last year as saying HC at VT is his "dream job".
That may be so, but he's not allowed to leave until we beat him & Dabo together.
In all seriousness, I'm real surprised he wasn't picked up as a HC yet this off-season.

The Clemson 247 guys talked about a couple months ago I believe.

More competition under center. Like it.
Didnt that guy from 247 (Shumbert?) say we had the best QB class in the country? This was before the transfer. What does this do to our class now?
this is turning out to be one of the more interesting off-seasons I can remember, for good reasons too.
