Nebraska and Iowa doing Nebraska and Iowa things. 10-10 near the end of the game. Iowa has the ball third and 12 deep in their own territory. Instead of running out the clock and going to OT, Iowa calls time out. Promptly throws an interception and Nebraska runs it back to something like the 35.
Holding penalty on the return pushes Nebraska back beyond midfield.
Nebraska throws an interception run back to about the 35.
Iowa gets a long run up the middle and kicks the field goal to win 13-10 as time expires.
Oh, and to top it off, there was a play earlier where the clock stopped and should have been running. If it had been, time would have expired.
Nebraska continuing to find innovative ways to lose.
Iowa continuing to find ways to win with a horrid offense.

I dunno, I'm rooting for Chaos. Michigan wins and Ohio State fans will lose their shit because that's 3 straight losses and this latest one was without their HC. Ohio State wins and Michigan fans lose their shit over Harboughs suspension.
Mmm...it'll be delicious.

Michigan beats Ohio State they'll probably can Day right? He'll have to fire somebody at least i would imagine. AnOSU won't put up with 3 straight loses to Michigan.

College football is crazy but that would be a truly awful decision. Day is easily one of the best coaches in the sport. He would walk in to all but maybe 3 jobs in the country.

I think Day is one of the best offensive/schematic coaches in CFB, and one of the best at deploying talent (aka putting together a game plan, especially with an extra week) but I don't think he'd do well in a program building role. He's one of the coaches who will thrive in a 12-team playoff. Who's going to out-coach him after a off week? Not many. I definitely think he'd do better in the NFL than college.

Sigh. What a bunch of whiny, entitled clowns. I did not realize OSU fans were that bad. Guess just another reason to think picking VT over OSU was the right move for me.
Of course, if I had gone there, at least I'd know what winning a championship is like. Oh well, really enjoyed the time at Tech and have a hard time believing Columbus would be anywhere near as nice as Blacksburg was.

All they care about is beating Michigan, and they've lost 3 straight. Something we haven't done against UVA in 34 years. You think we'd be pissed losing 3 straight to UVA? you bet we would.

I'll take losing 30 years in a row to UVa if it means that we win all the other games 1 of those seasons and get a National Championship. Assuming, of course, I am still alive and mentally coherent that winning year.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Not really. I mean with the expanded playoffs. Big upsets can happen. 11-1 still gets us in the ACC championship game with 99% certainty. Win that and 12-1 probably gets you into the playoffs, even if the ACC continues to be weak. Then you win out and are #1.
I do agree with you. Not likely we will have that scenario of 11-1 with 1 loss to UVa and then somehow beating all the big dogs. But I'd just love to see an actual championship at Tech in a major sport.

Probably same result if that happens in this specific situation. PI in the EZ is 1st and goal at the 2. There were 30 seconds left and Bama had timeouts.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
You're right. Every PI that occurs on a play snapped from between the 2 and the 17 places the ball at the 2 in college, but it would have been too far out for that rule to apply. If it

And I guess it would not have mattered anyway as FSU has come back and probably put it away after Florida takes a dumb targeting penalty when the QB was sliding and was going to be 4th down,

Just got back from a long drive home and listening to our game (which was freaking enjoyable!... the game part... I-95N and Fredericksburg can suck it). Getting a chance to see the scores and whats going on right now and I'm just here to say there's a legit argument to Michigan to be #1 across the board when the next round of rankings comes out. And lots of other teams that are NOT impressing or DIDN'T impress tonight - Alabama, FSU, Washington - looking at you.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
I was just thinking that OSU is not out of it. Pulling for Washington, but can easily see them losing. If Alabama loses to Georgia, they are ahead of them. Guessing OSU stays ahead of Oregon. FSU can easily lose tonight or the ACC Championship. Will see what happens.

Remember at the beginning of the season when everyone said Prime has revolutionized the way the portal is handled and many on here said we need to look to model him when we inevitably fire Pry in the next year or so?
I remember saying they would improve and I believe a couple around here correctly predicted a 4-8 record. I figured there were 2 gimme games on the scheduled (Nebraska & Colo St. were my picks I think), and then I said they would win another 50/50 game and they would pull an upset out of nowhere. Well, that upset just happened to be in week 1, and in retrospect its obviously clear that TCU had no business being ranked and were living off of last year's success.

His switch of OC to Shurmur was the dumpster fire I needed. Hopefully Sean Lewis gets a ton of offers and walks away after what Prime did to him. In the four games since the move Colorado has broken 20 points once with 31. Under Lewis they broke twenty in six of eight and broke 30 in five of those six.

NC State had 12 on the field for that last FG right? At first I thought it was intentional to just leave the one WR out there but looked like 12 to me.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Gonna say I don't really mind NC St. Would have loved to have beaten them but I don't mind them. Plus my son is looking to go there since we live in NC. I'd rather NC St than UNC...plus UNC is $$$$

Cal starting to extend their lead. Score a FG to go up 23-7 and play make it-take it on the kickoff by popping it loose and recovering. Chip Kelly might be trying to get fired at this point. 30-7 after the TD on the drive

Big Ten and SEC teams played a big part. Six teams between the two conferences finished 5-7. Minnesota, Nebraska and Illinois all lost their final games for Big Ten and Florida, Mississippi State and Shane's Gamecocks for the SEC. ACC beat two of the SEC schools to end their seasons.
Army Navy game takes on another layer as winner goes bowling, loser goes home.

Yeah seeing that only ULM and USM finish below bowl eligibility is crazy. The interesting part to me is that four of those 12 had losing conference records. Curious if all of their non conference wins were against D1 schools. Hokies helped Marshall get in as one of those teams with a 3-5 conference record.

Will Nebriowa hit the over? It's looking like it.
Edit: Nvm, games over, wife has me watching this dumb NFL game.
I think Iowa has now hit the under something like 10 games in a row.

Oh my God, I can't believe I switched away from this. B1G championship game is going to be ugly.
Just wait until they scrap divisions and we have OSU vs Michigan in back to back weeks most years, then again in the playoffs.
Gross
That game was everything. Best game I've watched all year.
I only caught the last 2 min of the game it was perfect.
The refusal for anyone to win was good but it was just so much better in the full picture of the shitshow that was the full game.
So hoping Ohio State can pull off the upset. With Penn State out of contention, I'm in ABM mode for the national championship: Anyone but Michigan.
I dunno, I'm rooting for Chaos. Michigan wins and Ohio State fans will lose their shit because that's 3 straight losses and this latest one was without their HC. Ohio State wins and Michigan fans lose their shit over Harboughs suspension.

That would definitely make A&M's decision easier.

My favorite Gameday sign this morning:
"Ryan Day steals signs from 3rd base"
Hard to imagine. I mean OSU fans and boosters never struck me as the type that would fire someone after an 11-1 season. But, who knows?
Really? They always struck me as a group that is disappointed with anything other than a national championship
They wanted Stroud gone after last year. Lol
Lol head on over to elevenwarriors.
They want both McCord and Day gone for the most part
Sigh. What a bunch of whiny, entitled clowns. I did not realize OSU fans were that bad. Guess just another reason to think picking VT over OSU was the right move for me.

Well unless UVA becomes peak Alabama, if you lose to them, you aren't going to make the playoffs anyway. So this is really a false choice.
Not really. I mean with the expanded playoffs. Big upsets can happen. 11-1 still gets us in the ACC championship game with 99% certainty. Win that and 12-1 probably gets you into the playoffs, even if the ACC continues to be weak. Then you win out and are #1.

Guess we're going to find out. Good game. Ohio State QB had to chuck it. A sack would've effectively ended the game as well.
Louisville with an INT and another chance to tie the game with 4 mins remaining.
And it's tied at 31, 2:33 remaining in the 4th.
A #GoACC moment with 10-1 Louisville playing 6-5 (3-5 in conf) Kentucky like equals.
Oh man they REALLY choked that one away, huh
nardousche calling all his timeouts down 11 when duke can still kneel it out even with the timeouts. What a clown
He's such an ass.
Soon to be ACC team SMU just destroying Navy...SMU will move to 10-2.
... Talk about under the radar. I had no idea they were 10-2
They play Tulane this week for the American Athletic Conference Championship.
Losses were to #18 Oklahoma and TCU. Those were the only two games they scored less than 30 points in. Scored 45 or more in five of their wins.
ESPN Analytics currently heavily favoring SMU to win against Tulane.
What has happened to Oklahoma State? After beating Oklahoma they have really struggled. BYU beating them pretty good.
Oh my god the end of Alabama Auburn was insane
Can't believe Auburn let that happen
Um they lost by 3 scores to NM st last week at home, what can't you believe?
That the CB just didn't tackle the receiver rather than give up the TD. It was just comical.
Probably same result if that happens in this specific situation. PI in the EZ is 1st and goal at the 2. There were 30 seconds left and Bama had timeouts.

The Jerrdan Hare voodoo got confused for one play.
And Oklahoma State came all the way back to win. In the Big XII Championship.
Final week of the regular season has not disappointed so far
Washington with the walk off FG against WashSt. Shouldn't have come down to this but hey they got it
That was a horrific call against FSU. Holy smokes
Agreed.
It wasn't "roughing the passer", it was "a tackle".
...Bees? 🐝
Looks good early but I'm sure we're all just waiting for the deluge
If FSU loses - and they are getting pummeled right now - does it cost us/the ACC a lot of money with them getting knocked out of the playoffs?
Not after the new post season revenue sharing changes.
In the old world, it would have.
Thank you for the info Bar.
And I guess it would not have mattered anyway as FSU has come back and probably put it away after Florida takes a dumb targeting penalty when the QB was sliding and was going to be 4th down,
Oh, and Iowa State-Kansas State playing in a snow game. Just switched over to see that.
Just got back from a long drive home and listening to our game (which was freaking enjoyable!... the game part... I-95N and Fredericksburg can suck it). Remember at the beginning of the season when everyone said Prime has revolutionized the way the portal is handled and many on here said we need to look to model him when we inevitably fire Pry in the next year or so?
I dont remember many on here saying that at all. We flipped over like 37 roster spots ourselves last offseason. Not quite CU but still a lot.
I remember saying they would improve and I believe a couple around here correctly predicted a 4-8 record. I figured there were 2 gimme games on the scheduled (Nebraska & Colo St. were my picks I think), and then I said they would win another 50/50 game and they would pull an upset out of nowhere. Continued fallout for Buffs...
#3 QB in Class of 25 decommitted yesterday.
Let the dumpster fire continue.
Concepcion so fucking good gahhddd
NCSU just doing pretty much anything they want and UNCheat can't do shit right now.
NC State had 12 on the field for that last FG right? At first I thought it was intentional to just leave the one WR out there but looked like 12 to me.
Not gonna lie, it's pretty sweet having the tomahawk chop rain down on Ben Griffin Stadium. Eff the gators.
I'll take that playoff payout for the last time and the bump up the bowl pecking order.
Gonna say I don't really mind NC St. Would have loved to have beaten them but I don't mind them. Plus my son is looking to go there since we live in NC. I'd rather NC St than UNC...plus UNC is $$$$
Plus INC is like the OSU of NC. So many people never went there but love them. I don't think NC St gets the same love from in state people
Ha watching Clemson USC and they just showed the crowd and there was a guy throwing up the VT and gobbler hand signs
Real-time review of our game plan for Cville

GT surprised me with how they hung with UGA tonight. Going to lose but didn't get shellacked
UGA hasn't looked very dominate this year, I wouldn't be surprised if Bama beats them next week.
There's been a couple games where they didn't look dominant, but just about as many as they did.
Drake Maye is shaken up with a hurt ankle. Not super serious, but took some time to get back to the sideline while down 19 to NC State
Cyclones! VT and ISU both pull out the wins. Drat, if only Michigan could have lost.
Oh well, good night everyone.
How the hell is Clemson still ranked with four losses
Cal is battling it out with UCLA. Gave up a pick and a score on the ensuing drive, then proceeded to return the kickoff to the house
Cal starting to extend their lead. Score a FG to go up 23-7 and play make it-take it on the kickoff by popping it loose and recovering. Chip Kelly might be trying to get fired at this point. 30-7 after the TD on the drive
And with enough 5-7 teams losing yesterday JMU gets a bowl. After all their bitching they get a bowl anyway. What a bunch of knobs.
wouldn't that be 5-6 teams losing to become 5-7?
Big Ten and SEC teams played a big part. Six teams between the two conferences finished 5-7. Minnesota, Nebraska and Illinois all lost their final games for Big Ten and Florida, Mississippi State and Shane's Gamecocks for the SEC. ACC beat two of the SEC schools to end their seasons.

Assuming they are allowed, which seems likely, that means that Sub Belt is going to have 12 teams that are bowl eligible.
I guess it's only fair we helped Marshall get there this time.
Some one didn't watch film this week
lol exact same play they ran against us last week; come on guys
Total chicken shit. Man up and play football.
ESPN doing ESPN things...
This week's FPI...Ohio State still #1...Penn State top 5?
https://www.espn.com/college-football/fpi
Time to adjust the algorithm.
