WBB vs LIU Dec 6

The #15 Hokies play the Long Island University Sharks tonight at 6 PM. The game is on ACCNx. The Sharks are 1-7 with their only win at home against Hampton 60-53. They have lost at St. John's, at Monnesota, at Iona, and at Delaware State. They lost at home to Lafayete, CSU Bakersfield, and St. Peter's. Their average scoring margin is -16 points, including the win.

No one on their roster is over 6'2.

This should be an easy game for the ladies. Coach Brooks should be able to rest the starters for a good portion of the game and get some minutes for the back ups, expecially the freshmen.

Stats:

GO HOKIES!

Would love to be in a position where Kenny can sit Georgia and Liz the entire second half and force the rest of the team to figure out how to score. Won't happen, but that's my dream for tonight

I agree. Let Liz get her double double in the first 20 and if Georgia isn't well on her way to a triple double, let them eat popcorn for the rest of the game.

I actually love games like this as Brooks will experiment with different lineups, concepts, and give the younger players lots of minutes normally.

I'm hoping this is the game Wenzel starts to get the green light. I watched her the Iowa game and was confused why she was holding back pulling the trigger when Kitley was getting doubled. Then I saw her shoot and I was even MORE confused. She's got a beautiful shot, she's long and athletic, she's shooting over 60% from the 3...I need Brooks to give her the green light as I believe she's the next big star for us.

They'll really get after ya

Very good D so far

I cant watch because the espn app doesnt meet googles security requirements to use my yttv login apparently

Isn't that a bitch? I can get it on my computer, but trying to get it on my "smart" tv takes a full quarter of play to come in, if it does at all. I can see the day when I throw the darned computer through the tv and end my misery.

Did Amoore get a block there?

Strack scoring through the contact.

Doesn't matter if it's cake or pie as long as it's chocolate.

Kitley already at 11 points and 4 boards
King with 9
Amoore with 7 assists
5 team blocks, including 1 by Amoore

Freshmen are playing amazing defense and are moving the ball very well.

The fans definitely tricked suffren about the time remaining

They did the classic false count down when we were on defense

Danny is always open

And we felt so bad when she fell for it. I know the others are going to kid her in the locker room.

The fans are counting down sooner than the clock to rush the shot.

Personally, I think they should delay by a second

We started counting when we were playing D but didn't stop when possession changed. Suffren will learn to check the shot clock after this experience. Better for the freshman to learn this at halftime in a blowout rather than in a conference or tournament game.

69-33 after 3

Nice 😎

Im pretty impressed by bakers shooting and finishing close to the rim.

More points from the perimeter than inside and the line combined. Second half defense a bit sloppy but it was mostly bench vs starters. Seemed like LIU hit more outside but were only 5-19.

I wonder if this was the first time that Georgia felt like a giant and a bully, she was taking that LIU #1 player like a elementary school kid. How often does she have 5" on the opposing point?

Great team win over a drastically overmatched team. Loved to see the freshmen getting lots of minutes.

30 assists on 37 field goals -- the 30 assists is also a cassell record fam
