Cool stats to see! Pry has definitely raised our floor. Just need to start raising the ceiling a bit more but he's on the right track.
top-300 recruits by 247 composite tells a little bit of a different story in that Pry has already started raising the ceiling relative to the last few years -- we haven't had a class with this kind of higher-end talent since 2019. Pry is simultaneously raising the floor and pushing the ceiling back to where we know it can be.

So I know Brent Pry's height has been discussed before....but Davi Belfort can't be taller than 5'9 right? Just posted a picture with Pry and Bowen at his house, kid is well built for his size, but i'm super skeptical he has the build to play QB in the ACC.

Based on center of the photo, and the perspective of the vertical lines, whoever took the photo is short. Pry and Bowen are standing in front of Belfort, which will make them appear taller.
Godsmack used to do this for all their posters because the singer was really short. They'd put him out front with a low camera angle. Would make him appear to be the same size.
They aren't all that far apart in the Belfort picture though. So, he can't be all that far off from Pry's height.

Yea, from his social media, he seems super mature and has the work ethic and discipline of an MMA fighter. He's one of the most interesting recruits VT has ever had. He uniquely has fame, fortune, an MMA background, and fan support of Brazil.

That's so cool! Shannon Larkin is one of my favorite drummers to just watch - I love the way he whips his arms around to get the edge cymbals; it looks so awesome
He is a very chill, nice guy. He worked his ass off on drums when he was young- paid off.
He never looked big in his HS tape. He has an it factor, but agree that size could limit his ability to have good vision or take on hits.

This is just my personal opinion...I think height is overrated as a QB trait. Don't mind a shorter QB if he's mobile enough to create his throwing lanes. Based on his 247 scouting report, that sounds his how he plays - fast release, tight mechanics, can evade pressure.
IMHO, he's got a shot. Pop vs. Belfort is going to be fun to watch.
Also, he reclassed from 2025 to 2024 so he's very young for a HS senior. Decent chance he hasn't stopped growing yet.

This would be a huge recruiting W for Pry and staff. I'm not holding my breath, but it certainly can't hurt that his brother is thriving here. He also probably has the inside scoop on how his brother is being taken care of on the NIL front as well.
Would be monumental momentum wise to. I would feel good about a commitment because I'd be less worried about someone flipping him with his brother staying.
Whether he comes or not, Pry keeping Masoor here when everyone wants him because he's really good and they want to get his brother is big time recruiting. Let's hope he can go bigger now

One roster thought after watching the game yesterday that I'd not had previously:
I hope we go after a RB in the portal. It gets VERY thin after Tuten, and I'm not sure Thomas is a P5 back. If Tuten were to go out next year with an injury, my optimism goes way down as well.
They are still talking to Ramon Brown now that Jaquez Moore seems to have decided to return to Duke but no other RB offers

I was looking at Brown's stats. He had 1 carry this year for 3 yards this year. About 30 carries last year. Assuming he didn't play 4 games on special teams this year or last, he could come on board with 3 years of eligibility remaining. That would give him some time to develop behind Tuten for a year and then potentially take over or at least compete with these other guys we mentioned for the starting job.
Would much rather Duke or Black come back than we get Brown. Very low on him, I thought Duke's high school tape was better, and clearly Maryland has not done a good job developing him.
Really wish Duke would just take a redshirt year next season. Play in 4 games and the bowl. Then take over as a top 2 back with 2 years left in 2025

I think Thomas is a P5 back, but he isn't shifty like Tuten. Tuten made this offense go because he made so many defenders miss and that was needed with this line. If we had a better line I think Thomas would look a lot better, but he is just the wrong kind of back for a bad offensive line.
