i get that a lot of different fan-driven media carves out their niche and gets a little territorial about things, but this is really awesome to see Hokie Nation just talkin ball and the program from a few different angles
I used to hang out with Pete and Robbie at the First Down in Arlington. We were just shooting the shit on Twitter about 15 minutes before they went live about the pickups and he asked me to join, so I joined in. It is much easier to do when you have positive things to talk about.
It was a great listen. Well done by Pete and Robbie and great insight from French and Doug.
I agree with Robbie that the bowl game won't be close. I don't know how the 2 remaining Tulane coaches can effectively coach and prepare for a bowl game. Seems like an impossible task.
Great cast. Enjoyed the perspectives, and thoughts on needs we still need to fill. Mike and oline - please keep them coming.
A look at 247 and one see that the portal is pretty empty now. There are a few still on their board and maybe there will be a post-bowl game wave of players that enter the portal.
VT will likely need to flip some recruits or backdoor and lure some recruits into the portal to get in more guys. But, I wouldn't expect much more, unfortunately.
Or wait until after spring ball. Which is not ideal but is another option.
I appreciate you posting this here big guy. French and Doug were great guests, we were pumped to chat with them after what was an awesome day for the program. No one provides individual player film insights like French - gonna have to get him and other TKPers on more often in 2024. -Pete
I know scheduling the recordings has to be a challenge, but would y'all consider doing more of the live streams in the evening and then posting the recorded podcast in the morning? I think the live streams would get more action and the pod would still be available for the morning commute the next day.
Either way I've really enjoying listening along this year. Keep making good shit y'all.
Yeah we'll definitely consider it for next season. We are actually planning to live stream during the CFP national championship game with some special guests, similar to Peyton and Eli. Details to come.
I really appreciate how well you run a podcast. I know this just a side passion for you, but you treat it as if it was a real job. You are very well organized and get through topics well and reasonably paced. Most other VT podcasts really struggle in that department. And you get really good guests to drive some interesting discussion. Keep it up and I'll keep listening!

Wow. Thank you, that means a lot. Rob and I have really tried over to years to make our shows the best they can be - audio, topics, everything. With so many VT pods now, it's raised everyone's game. This is the golden age of Hokie coverage, including these boards right here, which were at the forefront of independent VT media. Thanks again for the kind words.

I don't normally watch/listen to those guys, but I really enjoyed all of their insight. Great to see French repping TKP and hopefully driving some more subs our way.

Thanks everyone. Pete and Robbie do a good job! I used to appear on their show more often, but I got into the rut because the program was slapping me in the face with it's problems and I didn't like beating a dead horse. With the good news as of late, it was a lot of fun to talk about progress.
I'm worried we are going to lose French in the portal. ESPN going to give him some NIL analyst money. French, we are going to need a confirmation video that you'll be back next year.

Despite not being local to many of the suggestions, and SC being one of the loser states where you can't have alcohol shipped to you, I've still been able to find some of the beers mentioned on Two Deep over the years and give them a try.
