Please no. This is like UVA bragging about all their "national championships."
We're bad at basketball this year. A slow break men's team. Let's just call it what is.
That doesn't mean we can't celebrate successes in other sports.
I agree but for slightly different reasons. If you wanna celebrate the H2Okies beating UVA, just do that instead of making it about the basketball loss.
Just like how we had that one thread a few months ago where the thread title was "dont let the football loss distract you from" and the the body was like "...the fact that wbb just signed a top-3 recruiting class!" Or something like that
Like it inherently becomes about the loss that way.
Start a meh thread or a vent thread for the basketball if you want. Start a celebration thread for one of our teams dunking on UVA if you want. One thread doing both of those things does neither of them well

Please keep the complaining away from the celebration threads.
It's nice to celebrate wins without making it about something negative. Also (and especially) when it's a recruiting celebration. It's just, well, unflattering towards the party who is celebrating.
Nothing personal towards anyone, as I enjoy everyone's contributions on this site.
That's what I was trying to say, just frustrated.
Happy for the H20kies - always thought that was clever.
But that doesn't make me happy that our other revenue sport is regressing under a coach I really like a lot and who clearly wants to be here.

Bad? We're going to be a middle of the pack ACC team. Hardly that's bad.
I'll be shocked if we go better than 8-12 in ACC.
Could very much see us going 6-14.
I hope I'm wrong. But that's what we're looking at if we replicate results to date, against tougher opponents
Yeah, I'm kind of tuned out on the Mike Young era. Other than the magic ACC tourney run, he's been pretty lousy here. Popcorn is getting stale - we obviously just don't have the horses to compete much in the ACC with his recruiting and scheme and I don't see it getting better. However since he's got a decent buyout left, I say let him ride it out another year or so and focus on continuing to build up football.
His recruiting is acceptable right now.
Jones coming in should add that rim attacker.
Hopefully landing Ament out of Manassas adds a second.
Rechsteiner has shown flashes at the point, while Young will hopefully grow into a better option at the 2 than Collins.
A serviceable Wessler could potentially give us a decent 5 man lineup.
Cattoor is gone, then you have one more year of Pedulla. If Rechsteiner gets to his level, you're still short a major scoring threat and plus defender in Cattoor.
We need a substantial upgrade in talent. I'm not sure freshman can get it done under MY, so he's going to have to hit the portal really hard. And not for guys like Camden.
Let's change the title to celebrate the H2Okies and not make it because basketball lost (LOLUVA also lost btw).
