What a ProTreat to get a win this fine evening FAM!!!

FAM! I wish we didnt have to take such a physical beating but proud of the team for toughing it out. Its so nice to see so many players stepping up as the season goes on.

Danny is always open

Only 7 turnovers. FAM.

Doesn't matter if it's cake or pie as long as it's chocolate.

5th in the ACC FAM!!! Record wise

If MJ Collins could find some sense of consistency in his jumper, that would make this team much more dangerous. Here's to hoping he has a big night Monday. Beat the bad teams, FAM.

Fire Whit.

That and if Nickel could consistently make open shots. Couple that with inside play by Kidd and Poteat and you see the potential of this roster as constructed.

Five Hokies in double figures with Nickel hitting that late three.

36 points and 10 rebounds from Kidd and Poteat. Beran put in 14 points and grabbed 9 boards as well.

Yes I DO like a 50/20 performance from my post players, why do you ask?

Low TO's and 23 assists. The fashion in which they created the assist opportunities may be the tier one blueprint to get all players contributing offensively to get solid production in the paint and from the arc FAM

Plus, we are killing it from the stripe FAM

Best Duke Monday and we will officially be cooking with gas again FAM

FAM! I feel mid season gelling happening! I hope I'm not wrong!

My wife takes the kids and leaves the house while I watch my Hokie games.........nuff said

Back to back victories in the Techmo bowl! First the ladies and now the men. Much better with the turnovers and I loved the domination inside worh Kidd and Poteat!
Now let's beat Duke on Monday!
LET'S GO!!

I don't know what a Hokie is, but God is one of them!

Hokies!!

That was stress free

It does finally feel like the staff have the players progressing in the right direction. I saw a lot of plays tonight that showed learning from mistakes earlier in the season. The team still has a hump to overcome in terms of being a well-oiled machine that could survive in the post-season. But at least they are not that flailing mess they looked like in late Dec. Mega kudos to the staff and team for showing steady progress. Stay healthy and send the Dookies back to NC with a big L!!

FAM!!

especially after the bailout Duke got in the last four minutes tonight to beat Clemson. Got 13 FTs in last few minutes all while trailing.

I'm prepared to not be able to talk next Tuesday. GO HOKIES!

Fam.
Great to get another conference win.

Camden Three FAM!

More reviews, more pep band!

H - O - K - I - E - S...Hokies! FAM!

-What we do is, if we need that extra push, you know what we do? -Put it up to fully dipped? -Fully dipped. Exactly. It's dork magic.

I keep thinking the teams we are beating don't look that good. Then I remember playing in the big east. We are soooo much better than we used to be, I am now expecting us to beat most ACC teams. And we did! FAM!

Sometimes we live no particular way but our own

The past few years of VT sports have reminded me that uninspiring wins over bad teams is hella better than losing to bad teams. And comfortable wins over bad teams can feel amazing.

I know we've played bad teams, but I'm so much more optimistic about the season.

The men's basketball team seems to be in a very similar position to where the football team was near the end of the season. Capable of looking really good against bad-to-mediocre teams, but consistently overmatched against better competition.

I think the basketball team's ceiling this season is pretty low, though. If we finish .500 in the ACC (which would put us at 18-13 overall), I would consider that a pretty respectable season.

Unlike the football team, however, next year is looking pretty grim for men's hoops.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me.

Don't forget the great roster rebuilder that is the Portal.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

Why is next year looking grim? We lose Cattoor and that is a big loss. But the only other player note who runs out of eligibility is Beran. Backcourt could use some reinforcements from the portal and/or the HS ranks. Most fans would look at a returning star PG + two solid, veteran C's as the foundation for a good team.

-= starters =-
G Pedulla - returning (senior)
G Cattoor - >>> graduating
G Collins - returning (junior)
F Beran - >>> graduating
C Kidd - returning (covid)
-= bench =-
F Nickel - returning (junior)
F Poteat - returning (covid)
F Long - >>> graduating
G Rechsteiner - returning (soph)
G Young - returning (soph)
F Camden - >> transfer? return? (junior)
C Wessler - returning (junior)
G Rice - >>> transfer (junior)

-= incoming players =-
C Jones - <<< freshman (top100)
F Johnson - <<< freshman
G ??? transfer
G ??? transfer

Based on that roster, I see Poteat and Nickel moving into a starting role

Backups will be:
Rechsteiner for Pedulla
Young for Collins
Johnson for Nickel
Jones for Poteat
Wessler for Kidd

This assumes no transfers, which we both know won't happen.

Poteat isnt a 4. The best 4s in MY's system have to be a threat from behind the arc (Aluma/Mutts sorta, Beran/Nickel, etc.). I really don't think Wessler gets much run until 25/26 (he'd be a R-JR) unless Poteat and/or Kidd are done after this season.
