The #19 Ladies travel up north to face #22 Syracuse. The game will be on the ACC Network. Syracuse is 17-2 and 7-1 in conference. The Hokies are 15-4 and 5-2 in conference. Winning this game could put us in a tie for first place, depending on how UNC-UVA and Pitt-Louisville go.

Syracuse has lost to #20 UNC and Maryland, who was ranked at the time. They have beaten #15 Notre Dame twice, #23 FSU and RV Iowa State. Their last game was a 79-64 thumping of Notre Dame at ND.

The Orange start a freshman, 2 juniors and 2 grad students. #2 5'5" guard Dyaisha Fair is the featured player. She plays 36 min/game, scores 20.7 ppg, shoots 38.6% and 38.5% from three, has 3.5 assists per game, 2.3 blocks and 4.4 rebounds. Whoever gets the assignment to cover her is going to have her work cut out for her. Syracuse has 3 Australians on the team. #5 6'0" Georgia Woolley starts at guard; #4 6'2" freshman guard Sophie Burrows comes off the bench for 15 min/game; #0 6' freshman guard Madeline Potts has not played this year. Fair has played all 40 minutes in the last couple of games. Woolley, Rice and Latham play 27-30 minutes and Wood plays about 21.5. Burrows, Wilson And Perkins come off the bench for 15-20 minutes each. Varajao has not played recently.

Syracuse wins the rebounding battle by almost 9 rebounds per game. They have more turnovers than assists per game and average almost 10 steals per game. While playing a fairly challenging schedule, they have outscored their opponents by almost 15 ppg. Kitley will have about a 3" height advantage over her defender most of the time; she is going to have to continue scoring as she has recently. And Amoore and company are going to have to give her a lot of support in this game. Summiel will have to continue her scrappy rebounding support to keep the Orange in check; they average 17 offensive rebounds per game.
Four Syracuse starters score in double digits and the fifth scores 7.6 ppg in 22 minutes. Fair and Rice shoot nearly 39% from three and Latham shoots 45% on limited attempts. Syracuse averages 7.3 made threes per game. Woolley only shoots 24% from three and Wood has not attempted a three this year.
Syracuse is a very good team and winning on the road in the ACC is always challenging. Winning this one is going to require the Hokies to play very good defense and get contributions from players other than Kitley and Amoore on offense.
Syracuse likes their starters to play a lot of minutes; they have played 35-40 minutes in the last two games. But they can have foul troubles. At the end of the ND game 2 players had 4 fouls and 2 had 3. If the Hokies can force the Orange into foul trouble and get the bench players onto the court, they will have a better chance to win this game.
LET'S GO HOKIES!

LETS GO!!!
HOKIES!!
I gonna go ahead and predict that won't happen to them at home in the ACC. Especially if we get that ref that likes having bad call discussions with Kenny.
Silly me, even considering the possibility.
I want to see more Kitley's recent development of moving her body under/around the basket to create her shot or draw a foul. Last week or two CKB has said they have been working a lot on that and it really showed against GT.
Also, against GT, it was nice seeing the rest of the supporting cast making great plays. Hoping for an all around great team effort today!
Go Lady HOKIES!!
I really wish Liz would just go up strong when she gets those offensive rebounds under the net. Putting it on the floor takes away her huge size advantage
My wife (big hooper in her youth) yells this at the TV every game.
Starting to rain 3's....let's keep it up!
Finally got my peloton setup with yttv to watch this on the bike. The HR will be higher than normal for rides with this huge game
Hmmm, peloton riding while watching the game? But, where do you put your beer?
I have a cup/bottle holder built into my elliptical.
Well in that case, have one for me and have a leg on me!
Sadly the data from my garmin has removed much of the joy of beer for me. Even just 1 with dinner destroys my sleep quality, HRV, and body battery stats
Nice 1st quarter, lets keep it up. I do have 2 fouls on amoore even though the tracker said 1 though...
E$PN box score shows 1 PF for Amoore
looks like my tally was unfortunately correct, leading to that horrendous 2nd quarter
Kitley off today......1 for 7....
Not sure why Kenny doesn't call a timeout there. Gave up like four straight baskets and let them build momentum.
I had to take a break from watching at that point. I can see saving some time outs, and playing through it at home, but we were shook. One of my few real consistent complaints with CKB. Give the refs a break and see if they reset on letting everything go. Let your team settle down and put in a play to punish the press. Maybe calm the crowd or cool off their shooting. Or take a timeout into the half. Makes me yell at the tv when CKB always picks the latter.
Ugly 2nd quarter. Unfortunately always seem to take a quarter off. I get Amoore was out but still a tough watch.
Haven't been able to watch any of it yet. What happened? Did she sit with the 2nd foul?
Yes she sat all but last ten seconds
Gott get kitley going. Keep feeding her. She'll make em soon enough
At least Matilda is Ekhcellent from 3 today
Ugh. Who had Summiel with a better stat sheet than Liz in the 3rd quarter on their bet slip?
This just in.....Fuck Jim Boeheim. That is all.
SO SAY WE ALL!!!
👍🍺
Great game by Ekh so far picking up the slack for an off night for kitley
Man...kitley just having one of those days....
We need to attack the lane now to and get ourselves into bonus or we're going to be in trouble
Or we could just make sure threes that works too
Cuse now has twice as many free throw attempts as Hokies
Time for Kitley to make it a bucket or two and salt this thing away
Wow Kitley missing free throws too just not her day.
Way to grind out an away win, especially with Kitley having an off day. Another ACC dub!
Yup!
Carrier Dome Fam
FAM! great job by the team picking up the slack today.
I was really beginning to wonder if they would ever call another foul on Syracuse
The sad part is the end numbers show fouls and free throws about equal. That ignores they sent the Hokies to the line for 8 free throws in the last 72 seconds.
Kitley had a horrid day and we still won.
I feel bad for Rose, but Summiel has completely absorbed her minutes. Summiel is listed as a senior is this her last year, or does she have another?
This will be Summiels last season. She was a reserve for a year and a starter for two at Wake Forest.
Dang, well she has improved from her numbers at Wake.
I think Baker may be a player who can fill that role going forward. She definitely has the outside shot. Hoping Summiel can show her the ropes on boxing out and the hustle plays to grab those rebounds.
