I'm looking to crowdsource a list of places that sell college apparel that isn't tied into fanatic's cookie cutter bullshit. I'm want to update my Hokie wardrobe that hasn't changed much since my 2011 effect tees outside of the bball ACC championship and the bass fishing shirts.
- Homefield , Obviously they have some great stuff. HOAT, Bass Title, skipper, T in the V, etc.
- Smack Apparel Sadly, I think they only carry one shirt.
- Cutter and Buck Golf stuff or something.
For the ladies
- Lojo I'd still wear some of their sweats.
- Hype and Vice Rookie shorts are fire.
Sadly no Tech gear, but worth checking out.
- Homage Love their stuff and a good friend's neighbor started it. π€One day they do a VT line.
- Nike
Please post any other place you've found that does interesting college branded stuff.

Campus emporium?
VT bookstore?
Campus Empo was and still is my go to for most stuff. I was trying to list funkier stores I've found. VT Thrift is another good option to support a Blacksburg business and students.
$60 for an old 2006 jersey.... (Rummages through donate pile)
Seriously, vintage stores have gotten out of control.
On the other hand, that maroon crew reverse weave neck is legit and i might buy it
I mean clothing prices have always been one of the most ridiculously high margin items 0 surprises that they can throw "vintage" on it and still get stupid margin out of used clothes.
I mean, Homefield is a sponsor of TKP. Crazy to go elsewhere!
Sorry- I get that homefield is a sponsor, but they only have 26 VT items, and $36 for a t-shirt and $72 for a pair of sweatpants is way too rich for me.
It's worth it. The clothing is high quality. My VT gear is almost exclusively homefield now,
Homefield - use code OG23 and get 15% off your first order.
Also check out Etsy. There's some good swag there.
I got a random free gray t-shirt from some (GPS?) company at an event in 2010. Wore it constantly for years- super comfortable.
After years of use, just before the shirt's brand wore off I decided to look up the shirt company. Homage.
Between the wife and I we probably have at least a dozen Homage shirts. Probably never going to expand far enough away to get VT gear sadly.
Looked 'em up. They carry VT gear now!
Homefield apparel Vintage Virginia-Tech Hokies Gobblers store
Homage <> Homefield
Homefield might have the comfiest t-shirts I've ever worn. Highly recommend.
I feel this way about their sweatshirts/hoodies.
How do you feel about their sweatpants? I like those $70 ones, but $70 seems steep for sweatpants...but if they're super high quality I could convince myself I'll wear them forever.
I like them, but they are skinny/tight, so if that isn't your style I wouldn't get them. Very warm and comfortable.
I echo this - incredibly comfy. Definitely a 'jogger' cut. I only wear them in the colder weather
jogger cut, best cut
My Hokies baseball tee is definitely one of my top 3 in terms of comfy levels
Does anyone know where I can get a VT version of one of these?
I can not tell you from personal experience not to absolutely buy a blank Hokies jersey at Campus Emporium and then you should not support a small, local Blacksburg business called Expert-T's next to the Food Lion on Main. Their excellent customer service and decent pricing would not make this dream too ridiculously easy to become reality.
Don't

Alumni Hall is another one with a few worthwhile items.
20% off Back to School Sale link
Prices are on par with most of the others (read high) but I got the Nats/Hokies combo hat from them.

They have an O's/Hokies and a Yankees/Hokies hat too.
Also picked up a few of their Trucker hat options.
One other shop that drops SWVA (Hokies themed) items is The SWVA Shop. Their shop is on Etsy. I ordered their "Pry"de of Blacksburg shirt and the Lane Hat. Also got the 2010 Black Jersey tee. Waiting on the Hokies track American flag Trucker hat to be back in stock.
SWVA shop is great. I got a bunch of stickers and a Lane Beanie. Super friendly folks running the store.
Anyone got recs for good places to get VT gear for toddlers? While I'm happy to spend $35 for an adult t-shirt at HomeField, I can't find anything for my toddler for less than $20. Given that she's a growing, rolling ball of mess and destruction I find it difficult to spend more than $10 for a single piece of clothing for her (and even that feels outrageous to me).
Honestly Etsy, Poshmark, mercari, eBay, etc are the best for this IMO.
Didn't even think of used clothes, that's genius. Thanks!
Facebook Mom's groups - Somebody's got some gently used stuff that will be pennies on the dollar.
Yea but we live in ATL. Not many moms giving away VT gear down here.
New Homefield Bomber Jacket
Homefield dropped this jacket today and it is just beautiful
Can I get a custom one, using the same script, that says "Weights weigh the same"?
No...
I bet Exper-Ts could embroider it on the inside of the collar or something
Yeah I've been looking for a new VT jacket to start replacing/upgrading the apparel I have been holding onto for... a while...
This was an auto-buy when I saw it
If I wore jackets more and not hoodies, it would've been in my cart moments after I saw it hit
I take it you already bought their script Hokies hoodie?
Negative, been piling hoodies up like a madman. Saving my funds at the moment
Well, whenever you do, make sure you use the key play club discount, it saves you a pretty penny
Ugly pennies are just as valuable /s
Mine just arrived today and it's GORGEOUS.
Just got mine and it's really nice. Well, to be fair I got another one last week but I had to return it as it was a little small. Shockingly, Homefield makes returns and exchanges ridiculously easy, so that's another selling point if anyone wants to know why to shop there.
Jacket looks great, fits great, and is made well. Only minor drawback for me is I wish the logo on the front was any of the throwback logos, from the TECH in state to the gobbler to the original gobbler to the T in V. But that's just me.
more non-fanatics apparel:

I have this one in orange and maroon. I really like it, but the collar shape is weird. It just sits really high on my neck. Not sure quite how to explain it, but I've talked to other people have similar complaints about rhoback polos
....
Found a new one today:
BreakingT
Couldn't think of a better place to throw this. This jacket is π₯ and congrats to Coach.
Unfortunately Google Lens gives zero results.
Yeah those letterman jackets seem to be a custom ordered kind of thing, like back in HS.
The amount of stuff we can buy that is VT related is insultingly scarce. No excuse for why Nike doesn't sell more merch for Tech.
Was just looking at the Hockey club jerseys too. Wish we could buy those as well.
They sell them after every season, but I think they run $175.
Is that through Rec Sports? Hokiesports? Or does team have a separate site?
The team has a separate site and social medias.
I'd pay it if the design was something I really liked.
I've been on the fence about the white jerseys for the last couple of seasons. I need to just buy one without letting the wife know the cost.
Buy it on your birthday or something. That's what I always do if I want to buy something for myself and I can't really justify the cost to my wife, I just buy myself a birthday or Christmas present.
Yes, but these are game worn jerseys, not replicas or even authentics.
Homefield is forcing me to buy my first hat since I was in middle school.

Go Holeies!
SMH this is why we need to keep teaching cursive in schools lol
Is it me or does it look super crooked? Like it was drawn from memory or something
Think it's a poor marketing/photography effort but reality is it's straight. Their second photo appears more level.
Maybe it's me, but the bottom of the H should line up with the bottom of the other letters. It makes it look "off" to me. It's a hat, not a pennant. No need to force the letters into the shape of a triangle.
Also, that cheap little piece of white "rope" (or whatever you call it) completely ruins the look, both in terms of color and quality. I would cut that off and throw it right in the trash.
it would have been better matching the hat or lettering,
I just picked up the 7 hat from The SWVA shop:
https://theswvashop.com/products/7-embroidered-hat
But I like this one too.
Frank approves and I still think it looks awesome, although an orange or orange/white cord would be a nice touch. Remind me to not post about my taste in fashion again, y'all are brutal.

Anyone know where I can locate a trucker style snapback hat that has the fighting gobbler logo on it? I've been on the hunt for one FOREVER. I saw one on social media the other day and it renewed my fire to find it. Pinterest advertises it on one of the stores (Campus empo or bkstore) but it's not there.
I am going to assume you are talking about this one
It is made by Legacy and was available on Campus Emporium in recent years, but it does look like it was discontinued. Might be worth periodically checking to see if they ever come out with that design again, especially if we start leaning into the vintage looks again.
If they made that with a solid fabric hat, I would be all over it.
They used to have one with just the Gobbler from 47 Sports.

This is as close as it gets now though it appears.

Thanks, got a link for when my wife asks me what I want for Christmas.
Yes, that's the exact hat. I check all the time.

They're a solid polo bought one when it was released.
Oops looks like both of those are out of stock for shipping.
Awesome, appreciate it - I'll keep an eye on it!
Rhoback dropped some official VT stuff recently. The hoodie sold out fast though and still isn't back in stock.
$145 for a quarter zip? Get the fuck outta here.
My thoughts exactly regarding Rhoback. I've heard they're comfortable and high quality, and I REALLY like the TV logo polo, but there's no way in hell I'm spending $125 on one. Sort of feels like a new-school version of Vineyard Vines stuff to me.
To be fair, and not spending anyone's dollar, they are along the lines of peter millar for quality and all. Vineyard vines and southern tide are nice, but not in the millar group. I did get one of the GameDay VT polo's a few weeks ago and love it. Again, hard to digest over a c-note for a shirt, but it was worth it to me.
The pricing is crazy. As I have aged I have gone the route of asking for 1-2 nice pieces of clothing for holidays that I would not buy myself, which is how I have any Rhoback. The hoodies and q-zips are great though, and I have ordered one q-zip as a gift using a 20% of promo code ("NLU" for first time orders).
I've shared this same sentiment on clothing, but now that I'm older and look back on photos of me from 10+ years ago, I notice I am wearing the same shit then as I am now.
Good for me for still fitting into it I guess. But I came to the realization that if I buy quality apparel that I really enjoy and know I will wear multiple times a year for 10+ years, then it is worth it to me.
Plus, people never know what to buy me for birthday or xmas, so if they're willing to go in and chip in on it together, everyone wins.
I recently bought a few Nike hats through the official hokiesports store (they seem to do a rotating 20-25% off pretty routinely) and have been pretty happy with the quality. They even came with stickers and patches that say "official team issue".
Any one got good places to buy toddler sized swag for mildly reasonable prices? My in laws are drowning my kids in GT gear, and I don't like it. I'm trying to buy them just as much VT swag, but I'm morally opposed to spending $20-$40 on something I know my kid is going to grow out of, if not destroy first.
Or, even better, anyone have any used clothes 4T and under they'd want to sell me?
"My in laws are drowning my kids in GT gear"- Booo on all levels
Well, at least he has the good sense to counter it.
It's an arms race at all levels.
Tell them you only take real Tech gear and don't appreciate fake Tech gear.
I don't have a spreadsheet so I don't know where you live. Next time you're in virginia hit up a thrift store-finding a kid specific one might help-you're bound to find some Tech gear for toddlers at a reasonable price
or, better yet, sell the GT gear and use the proceeds to buy VT gear. Maybe, if you're clever, you can sell the GT gear back to your in-laws over and over again
Of course it seems wrong even to GIVE away GT gear.
They probably make nice cleaning rags.
I live in ATL, never go to VA unless it's for a Hokies game (which hasn't happened since 2017). I've been doing some postmark shopping, but that's basically $10 shipping on every article of clothing.
Do your in laws have kids? Get them UGA stuff. Maybe that'll put an end to it
Coach Frayer dropped the link for a Three Day Pop Up store tonight support SERTC and Hokies Wrestling with a ton of Hokies Wrestling clothing
