Dang does 18-1(5) mean that had to go with the mercy rule?
Edit: yep
Do people still use "slaughter rule" or am I showing my age?
Yes. Slaughter rule, run rule, mercy rule, whatever you want to call it. An eight run lead after 5 innings will be a final.
I know the rule; referring to the nomenclature.
Got cha. I'm with you. I still call it slaughter rule.
B1G and SEC who?
They're going to have to move Auburn up 3 spots after that beating
IDK, they lost to the lowly ACC. If it was another SEC team it'd be a Kwality loss
Lady HOKIES win number three. 13 to 1 over Belmont.

Up 3-1 against Auburn
Hokies hit another grand slam to break a 5-5 tie in 6th inning
Peck this time
The most beautiful home run that never happened (officially). Even though the records will show a tie, that Auburn team knows who's the boss.
Is this game on XM anywhere?
Not sure, but is currently in rain delay
Boo. Game called after 6 innings as a 5 - 5 tie because of weather.
HOKIES scored 4 runs in the top of the 7th. But Auburn, the home team, did not get to bat in the bottom of the 7th and the rains settled in. Game will not be resumed.
Yea, that's some tough luck B.S
It was pouring the whole time in the top of 7th so them conveniently stopping and then calling it after that was some BS
The level of rain at bottom of 7th was no significant change over earlier
Unfortunately it never made it to the bottom of the 7th. I think we still had two on and no outs when they called for the tarp.
Yeah their coach was lobbying for the delay the entire seventh inning. Also why he was switching pitchers. He didn't spend the time watching them warm up, he spent it chirping at the umpire.
Hokies coach received a bench warning DURING the initial weather delay arguing to restart the game. Apparently then when the fields were ready at 525pm the umpires were conveniently unable to be located leading to the continued delay and then suspension of play.
Hokies beat Illinois 6-5 to finish the weekend undefeated
