I'm finishing up my portfolio for my second masters and we have required charts we have to add in they create and we fill in. The chart pages need to be landscape while rest of paper needs to be portrait. However on MAC version of word I can only change entire paper OR highlighted pages. Issue is since these charts are added in you can highlight the charts just the words within.
What is best option here? Someone know a workaround?
Second issue is as I've worked on this the last few months I have blank pages how can I remove just one page on MAC word?
Is there a better option or place to just transfer everything that makes it easier to edit?

This process works
Press Control+Shift+8 if you're using a Windows computer or Command+8 on a Mac. This way, you can see all the paragraph marks on your document.
Select the paragraph mark.
Select the inside the Font size box and type 01. Then, press Enter.
The paragraph should now fit on the preceding page, which will remove the unwanted blank page.
Press Control+Shift+8 again to hide the paragraph marks.
Not sure I understand the inability to rotate what happens when you select the text in the chart then apply the orientation to the selected text
First thanks for help on pages. When selcting just the text to rotate nothing happens or it rotates the entire 68 pages.
You probably need to insert a section or page break there:

Pro Tip. Save a copy and do this on an entirely different copy. Word formatting is horrendous and for a previous position I had to format extremely large (100-1000+ page) documents in a precise way and I've had it just ruin an entire document format doing something like this before
If not word is there another place you would recommend to write this?
Not really, word is touchy on formatting but its still the standard.
Lost 2 out of six points on first rough draft because I didn't realize it had changed entire work into landscape. Word sucks especially on a MAC.
I have struggled with word on a Mac many times, and often force a fix when I do not know how to do it right, especially on tables. I tried going with Pages for a while. Sometimes you can import and export back and forth, but I have some formatting issues with that, and don't know if Pages does it any better than Word. For charts, have you tried print to PDF and rotating the PDF and inserting? Or you can print it all to PDF and then landscape or portrait the individual pages and re-assemble by adding to the sidebar? Should be able to convert back to word via an adobe reader program that I don't have if you need to.
Yep, 100% this. The landscape page(s) need to be a separate section, not just a page break.
Agreed. Insert -> Breaks -> Section Break
IIRC, which is iffy.
Your first problem was using a MAC.
Spend the next 3 months learning LaTex and then let it handle everything like a boss.
I'll almost be done with the program by then hopefully.
I'll take "Advice HF should have been given at the start of his FIRST masters" for $1000, Alex"
If they're really experts, then they don't need help. 😏

Thanks everyone for your help and suggests just got final grades back for the capstone class and finished with a 94. Thanks again and what a great place and resource TKP is.
congratulations -- but i saw that "catastrophe class" before the edit 😜
Both versions can be simultaneously true.
Bonus: since he's in public safety, it could easily have been a catastrophic capstone about a catastrophe!
I didnt even think twice bc i assumed the comment was about a literal Catastrophe Course until i saw it was edited!
Side note- one of my fave classes in my years at VT was Catastrophic Failures!
did you study my relationship with my phd adviser??????????
Umm I didn't edit. One of the admins must have given me an assist.
