Great Job Liz!!!! Let's Go!

Life is good.

HOKIES!!!

Kudos to Georgia Amoore also--First Team All ACC

Life is good.

To quote the Brothers Osborne: "I'm Good For Some But I'm Not For Everyone"

That's an incredible accomplishment. And incredibly well-deserved.

Here's hoping she comes back from her injury as strong as ever, whether that's leading the Hokies this post-season or kicking ass in the WNBA.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me.

Looks like she will be interviewed on the ACCN at 5:30 pm... really hope she is able to say that kenny was being overly conservative

Watching now and she played it well balanced saying she is working on rehab and trusts the coaches will put her in the best position possible.

I didn't see it but if she said "working on rehab" that to me means a sprain or contusion or something like that that she's trying to work through rather than a ACL or achillies tear or something that's going to end your season. That is unless it's all just a red herring.....

Lieutenant- did her body language suggest to you that she was someone who's college career was over?

There was a bit of both in how she approached different questions. Seemed like her answer regarding trusting the coaches and rehab leaves that door open because I doubt she would be doing rehab if it was a torn ACL. Her answers to how the team was approaching the ACCT had you wondering if that was possible. She had a moment mid-answer where her eyes rolled up as if she was holding back emotions.

My take is more optimistic, but I am prone to having my heart broken

We all are......we're Hokies fans.

So I just got to see this interview and I saw nothing that would lead me to believe she's not going to be back this postseason. She was loose relaxed and laughing throughout the entire interview.

First team ACC for fourth time. Only the second to ever do it.

Also on the All ACC Defensive First Team as well.

Only the second to ever do it.

Who was the first?

"Yes I am going to have favorites. My favorites are high production and low maintenance players, coaches, and staff." - JMFF

Without looking it up, maybe Dawn Staley?

Edit: Staley was only 3-time. Alana Beard was the first 4-time from 01-04.

Beard went to Duke so she was ACC.

Elizabeth Williams from Duke. Williams played at Duke for four seasons. During her last year she averaged 14.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. Her assist average was the highest of any center in the country in the Atlantic Coast Conference women's basketball league. She ended her career with 426 total blocks, the ninth highest in NCAA history.[

Hmmm, looks like Beard and Williams were both 4-time first teamers. But Beard was first...

Yeah looks like you are right, not sure why Beard was overlooked in most of the articles.

Odd, but Liz is in elite company. I was going to blame it on our social media squad at VT. Beard was done playing at Duke before some of them were born.
